Finally got all my LEGO packed up tonight. What a huge process that turned out to be. I ended up keeping my modulars intact, but everything else got broken down for storage.

Once we sell the house and move, I think some collection purging is going to be required.

Yup @SumoLego - I know, he's in the wishlist still, still trying to trade for him...

Only 29 CMF let to get though - this is not to get the complete CMF line, but only those I really really want. That being said, I've ended up with all but two of series 4 so...

^ just to clarify, the fact I've got a female warrior doesn't have anything to do with gender equality or something, just depending on what's on offer.

I felt the same way when I bought a new house and moved and finally had a LEGO room.  The good part was having the room allowed me to organize and pare down somewhat by selling off odds and ends, the bad part is having the room allows me to see where I have gaps in my collection and where I can expand and have done just that!

Looks similar in size to my Stay Puft from Diamond Select (smaller one in below picture).

Luckily for me, when I was moving out 15 years ago, I wasn't really into Lego so all my toys can just get packed up as is. Only had 3 small shelves of fixed up Lego which I vaguely recall didn't get broken down. Below picture was taken just before the toy shifting out.

Though after shifted, due to limited space (even though a full room is being dedicated for toys), had to remove packagings of all the action figure toys and squeeze them into the new display shelves.

Really wished I had held off deboxing all the sets I bought for MOCs without adding them to Rebrickable, 2,435 Lego elements down & two more containers to go (expecting I'll get to 6-7,000 parts by the time I'm finished). Gave up doing this after a few BL orders & some other stuff was added without checking with me first.

Giant windstorm on the 8th. Even big guys like me and @SumoLego might've blown away. Power flickered while in the middle of BL work early afternoon. Internet down from that evening to the morning of the 10th, though power stayed on. Whatever could I do offline? :) [I did end up sorting some parts, though mostly catching up on non-LEGO offline projects]

@snowhitie I army build with medieval figs, so I'm quite familiar with S15 Frightening Knight (left of lower row). Where's S16 Rogue?

@bookmum I've noticed TLG doesn't have exclusive toy licenses for some themes, apparently including Ghostbusters. Even if that set is base don the old movie, the new movie might make it fresh as a kid's toy.

@ClutchPower Can't blame you for the on topic women's day post, reminded of the ThinkGeek twitter posting about nerd culture heroines (Leia and Uhura were prominent when giving examples)

I still think average age of a playmobil fan (approx 4-6?) isn't quite the same as average viewer age of Ghostbusters!! They've also got How to train your dragon range which I think kids will be excited by!!

    Feeling under weather today :-(

I was planning on building #10252 Volkswagen Beetle tonight, but I doubt I will be up for it by the time I get home. Currently at the office waiting for a 3 hours meeting to start that requires my presence... stupid work!

Off to get me some Pho for lunch.

My uncle, a huge KISS fan, was very happy with the Glam Metal Batman I got him. He said that overall it resembled Gene Simmons but the headgear looked like Ace Frehley. I had seen the KISS resemblance but don't know them well enough to tell that,

My sister and two of my coworkers have been out sick this week. I have the sniffles - nothing much, especially by comparison - I've gone to work after getting a tooth pulled. I'm no malingerer, but can too stubborn about taking it easy when I should. In the past, I've been quite able to build while sick. Maybe testing this will be motivation to get to my backlog.

Finally completed my Lord of the Rings collection  with the Orc Forge #9476 I managed to get on ebay for a really good price. Just put it together and it's a much better set than I originally thought (hence why I held off for so long).

Get the TIE on the May 4th sale and get whatever bonus promos are active then just for Star Wars.

Built TLBM Batmobile last night, this morning we cleared some bits of one of the shelves and parked it up there along with all the other sets and CMFs I've gathered from the film.

There was a Star Wars promo last September for the release of the Rogue One sets and #75159 Death Star - 2x VIP on SW sets and a #5002123 Darth Revan. If they do anything like that for May 4th, ka-ching! I just got a #75132 but that's a significant discount even on a $200 set like #75095
Often promos that require a specific kind of purchase make those items a very good deal.

  • RedbullgivesuwindRedbullgivesuwind Member Posts: 2,140
@Bumblepants and @KingAlanI that is a good shout. Hopefully, the May 4th promo will be worth it this year. Some of the last few have been really meh.

At at least now I only have two sets to decide on.

Ebay purchase fell through? I'm still bitter about that one time with the Creator motorised climbing monkey...

My day in Lego: tidied one the semi-sorted trays (we'd run out of trays to use for actual food purposes) into some small lidded boxes. Future sorting now less intimidating.

^^^^^^ Nothing too bizarre (dingos?) Basically I returned a few sets so I could rebuy them with double points, then noticed that one of them was already discounted more than 10% at John Lewis, so it gave me a bit of a reality check - how much more discounted will they go? So, I'm now playing the waiting game...

Both excellent builds, the Brick Bank is a better build experience, but there is nothing quite like building your own Tie Fighter! Plus, its massive, although a bit repetitive when building the panels. I suppose it depends upon your collection priorities!

Currently going through my parts inventory to see what I have and what I need to build #10224 Town Hall. It's quite the process but fun. Once I see what I need then I'll start shopping around on Bricklick/PaB/BaP.

After that I'm going to start working on #10197 Fire Brigade :)

Been defrauded of £300 via eBay thanks to someone using a stolen credit card. I've done everything right as a seller yet Paypal have failed with their so called *seller protection* and closed the case without me seeing any money.

Words cannot express how annoyed I am. Well some words can, but I can't post them here.

My life seems to consist of writing complaint emails to organisations (mostly government) recently so hey ho, what's another one to add to the pile.

Pissed off. Really really pissed off.

After disassembling all the Rogue One sets (except the AT-ST - have plans for that) and still being on a self imposed buying sabatical, I thought I would have a change of pace from my usual subject matter and have a bash at another technic set.
Had a bit of choice but decided to have a go at #42053 Volvo EW160E as I haven't had the pleasure of messing about with a set involving pneumatics yet and this seemed a more sensible place to start than ploughing straight in with the AROCS and messing it up. :)

Read some of the comments on the Lego Facebook post announcing the 20 semi-finalists of the Lego Friends Designer Competition.  Seriously (some) mums & dads just can't accept that not everyone can be a winner.
On a positive note the 20 semi-finalists are all brill. I think we'll be seeing a Friends Florists soon!
