Mrs Speedman has been very cunning and hunted out a 1977 Lego leaflet and #619 Rallye Car for me to build.
Many happy returns @Speedman29
@bookmum - legal requirement fulfilled while in Milton Keynes this afternoon. A sausage, baked bean and cheese melt. Very tasty, but burned my ruddy tongue on it :-S
^ You were lucky - a hasty* SBC melt consumption normally leads to head explosions, due to the heat exchange...
* hasty in this case is any meal starting less than an hour after purchase.
F A S T
The 1½ minute interlude between purchasing the melt and stuffing my face was definitely a bit short. I have learnt my lesson the hard way.
@Legopants about Shrove Tuesday pancakes - googled Rennies, apparently it's an indigestion medicine. sounds like Tums to this yankee.
I put way too much hot sauce on my lunch Monday and a bit too much Tuesday. Ghost pepper is nuclear waste distributed as a condiment. Symptoms of Shu-500000 exposure include burned lips. Still good. Guzzled multiple liters of icewater and brushed my teeth before I started to feel better.
Burning my tongue with regular temperature heat is mild by comparison.
There's a little shop selling a few sets from last year as you leave. City ferry for just £72 or the Technic motorbike for a mere £91 !
@bookmum - no concrete cows sighted. There used to be a couple in the shopping centre near the Lego Store, but I think they were put out to graze a few years ago. No idea where they are now.
I've had a rather quiet LEGO week or two, but I built my #10255 Assembly Square and did some re-arrangement of my LEGO street (it's too small to be called a city) to fit it in, which has been enjoyable.
I've been wanting #60147 Fishing Boat, along with a few other 2017 City sets, so I picked that up last night. It's probably not the most exciting build, given that the boat is nearly 50% a single hull piece, but the model looks lovely and has some nice features.
Other than that, I'm wrestling with my principles, as to whether I buy the egregiously priced (in £:$) 2017 LEGO Minecraft sets... And my principles are losing.
please tell me you're exaggerating
@KingAlanI - you are absolutely correct.
Like Tums, Rennies provide fast effective relief from indigestion and heartburn :-D
I wonder who sets these prices - the venue, the exhibition itself, or some third party? I've not been there myself... did people seem to be buying any Lego?
meesa asking same question. :P

Hopefully I can do some stuff with my personal collection, not just my BL inventory, this weekend. Stopped in the middle of Brick Bank and the #75149 X-Wing. Yellow Submarine, #31062 Robot Explorer, #70910 Scarecrow Special Delivery, #41309 Andrea's Musical Duet
Last of my 5 February [email protected] orders in transit (tracking information says Monday), including #60150 Pizza Van and #41311 Heartlake Pizzeria. See above comment about how I eat too much. Might make a display of those, 70910 and my #10036 #41092 combo
MK cows? Rochester had 'Horses on Parade' several years ago, sounds similar. Only a few of them are around, or at least publically displayed. The local baseball stadium has one covered in old gloves.

Don't say I didn't warn you ;o)
Okay, it cost £12.99 and was made of bricks, I'm not made of money sadly... but at least it fits the minifig version of my sigfig very nicely. The larger version of my sigfig wanted a go as well, but well there was a slight problem with that:
I'm surprised the Bugatti test driver here is keeping a calm and collected face to be honest! At least this official LEGO Bugatti gives me some hope that this year's Creator Expert car set will be a Veyron. And if not, I'll be buying a second Chiron to see if I can turn it into a Veyron, after all they superficially look similar.
But anyway, the Chiron might just be my favourite Speed Champions set this year... and I haven't even built the others yet! Some of the techniques used are genius and it even features a recolour I've been wishing for for as long as the part has been out... the dorsal fin piece in black. Now that's something a real Chiron can't give you.
A status for anybody not really interested in my ramblings about the SC Bugatti Chiron (maybe I should change my username to TheOneChironian) and one more aimed at people who own both LEGO and cats, my kitten decided to try to interfere with my photo taking, and I found that brick separators make ideal distractions for excitable and energetic kittens. Excuse the blurry photo, she's too quick for my camera!
Lovely to meet up with bricksetters. Well, let's see if I feel that way after meeting @Legoboy in the flesh tomorrow...
Really good to meet you at last, and see the film of course.
wanted to post this here: "20% off on march release technic sets caught in a brick+mortar store in germany(letzel heilbronn)... allowed me to avoid amazon(psrsonal reason on that) " but ended up in bricks magazine topic.......
Another great show is at the National Space Centre in Leicester which is actually only two weeks away - 18 and 19 March. One of the added bonuses of these two shows is that you get to explore the museum as well as seeing the Lego exhibits.
