    ^ You were lucky - a hasty* SBC melt consumption normally leads to head explosions, due to the heat exchange...

    * hasty in this case is any meal starting less than an hour after purchase.

    I had a Greggs sausage roll yesterday. It was actually a bit cold. Standards are slipping. So @Legopants you've done Leicester Square and Milton Keynes - have you just come to the UK to visit lego stores? Hope you said hello to the MK cows. There should be one built out of lego added to them!

    Giving Lego up for Lent ,twill save me a fortune and at the end I'll be mad for it. The small LBMM sets are my want and Argos v Smyth's sale\war will test me, bit like big J v Lord Satan.

    The 1½ minute interlude between purchasing the melt and stuffing my face was definitely a bit short. I have learnt my lesson the hard way.

    @Legopants about Shrove Tuesday pancakes - googled Rennies, apparently it's an indigestion medicine. sounds like Tums to this yankee.

    I put way too much hot sauce on my lunch Monday and a bit too much Tuesday. Ghost pepper is nuclear waste distributed as a condiment. Symptoms of Shu-500000 exposure include burned lips. Still good. Guzzled multiple liters of icewater and brushed my teeth before I started to feel better.

    Burning my tongue with regular temperature heat is mild by comparison.

    Just come out of the Art of the bricks DC exhibition on the Southbank in London. Very impressive sculptures.

    There's a little shop selling a few sets from last year as you leave. City ferry for just £72 or the Technic motorbike for a mere £91 !

    @bookmum - no concrete cows sighted. There used to be a couple in the shopping centre near the Lego Store, but I think they were put out to graze a few years ago. No idea where they are now.

    @Legopants, sugar and lemon juice is the *only* way to accompany a pancake! ;-)

    I've had a rather quiet LEGO week or two, but I built my #10255 Assembly Square and did some re-arrangement of my LEGO street (it's too small to be called a city) to fit it in, which has been enjoyable.

    I've been wanting #60147 Fishing Boat, along with a few other 2017 City sets, so I picked that up last night. It's probably not the most exciting build, given that the boat is nearly 50% a single hull piece, but the model looks lovely and has some nice features.

    Other than that, I'm wrestling with my principles, as to whether I buy the egregiously priced (in £:$) 2017 LEGO Minecraft sets... And my principles are losing.

    @KingAlanI - you are absolutely correct. 
    Like Tums, Rennies provide fast effective relief from indigestion and heartburn :-D

    @Speedman29 That's such a shame and so counter-productive. God help anyone who comes out of that exhibition wanting to build something and takes a look at the gift shop prices... :(

    I wonder who sets these prices - the venue, the exhibition itself, or some third party? I've not been there myself... did people seem to be buying any Lego?

    @catwrangler We were in the shop for maybe 10-15 minutes (mainly gasping at the prices) Didn't see anyone buying at all apart from us getting a guidebook. Even little postcards of a couple of the displays were £3 each. Real rip off, unlike the actual entrance fee. I'll get a few photos up tomorrow.

    MK cows? Rochester had 'Horses on Parade' several years ago, sounds similar. Only a few of them are around, or at least publically displayed. The local baseball stadium has one covered in old gloves.

    @KingAlanI the Milton Keynes cows are very famous. They are made of concrete. They were created in the 70s and apparently do move around the town every so often to different places (there was some in the shopping centre for a while). Milton Keynes is what's called a 'New Town' a purpose built town built in the 60s. I have always said if a colony on the moon is ever built it I imagine it would be like MK with a dome over it!!

    There had better be a steady stream of updates and photos from PitfallCon17 this summer to entertain the rest of us. That would be on par with Lego announcing a new Creator Expert train as far as I am concerned.

    I would like to actually go to some lego events this year. Does anyone know what events (and when) are on this year in the UK? Preferably in the south east of England (or even better London!). I could maybe make it as far west as the one in Swindon (anyone know the dates) and I could maybe go north to Birmingham? Thanks if anyone can help - or point me to somewhere on the forum /internet that tells me this. Thanks again.

    Brickset main site regularly updates events and flags them (with flags!) by region. You might need to edit your settings to have them display for you.

    @bookmum The Lego event at the Steam Railway museum in Swindon (The Great Western Brick Show) is always the first weekend in October so this year it's 7 and 8 October. I would heartily recommend going, it's the first show I ever went to and still one of my favourites. 

    Another great show is at the National Space Centre in Leicester which is actually only two weeks away - 18 and 19 March. One of the added bonuses of these two shows is that you get to explore the museum as well as seeing the Lego exhibits.

    I've also seen mention on the Brickish Association forum about an event at London Transport Museum, Acton Depot on 22-23 April but don't know any more details on that.

    Thanks @LostInTranslation. The Swindon one I like the sound of best because it includes the train museum. Anyone know if any happening in London - there was one at excel a couple of years ago (didn't go as I was only just developing into my afolness).
