@omnium back when I played with my fabuland it used to annoy me that you could get bedroom furniture, kitchen bits, tables and chairs etc but no bathroom. I was always building bathrooms for my fabuland houses!

Apparently, today is my 5th anniversary since joining Brickset.

Not many understand my obsession with LEGO, so I've always been very thankful for such a wonderful community to share my hobby/addiction with! A special thank you to each and every one of you here!

    Here's to 5 more years :)

Happy Anniversary!  It certainly is a great community!

@snowhitie  Best wishes for your health.  I think all kids love their moms no matter and are never a failure in the child's eyes as long as they feel loved which yours obviously does.

@iso3200  Nice gesture to cheer someone up.  Love the build!

Having just finished building Assembly Square, I'm now back to working on my 'alternate colour' version of The Greengrocer (Sand blue walls and dark red roof - guess what I've cannabalised for those parts!) Have almost finished the third floor - am waiting on a couple of bricklink orders to finish the spire at the front. Meanwhile, I'll make a start on the roof with it's BBQ area.

I've never had to call Customer Services before and I'd heard they are very good. The woman on the other end of the phone was so happy to help me, I suspect she might have been high ;-)
And new stickers are coming in the post, of course!
I liked not having to wait on hold forever too.

it may take up to 4 week's to be shipped out.
    bear that in mind.

That will be fine, I'm in no hurry. The stickers are hanging on for now, so I won't replace them for a while anyway. CS told me they'd ship within 7-10 days, so we'll see about that :-O
i think you find it 7 to 10 days after it ship's out.
i know it take's a long time as it coming by land all the way and has longer to travel then lego set's do.
all i know is that it took almost 3 months to get the right part i needed after the 1st one i ordered from pick a brick got crushed by yodel, the 2nd time sent the wrong item, and the 3rd time was slower then ever as it was right in the middle of Christmas rush.
So I rang CS on 9th Feb, their email tells me they shipped the stickers on 21st Feb. And they arrived today! (The letter was dated 10th Feb).
15 days in total. Not bad at all, I think.

How many batteries does power functions require!!!

6 for battery box. 3 for remote. Time to buy some more batteries.

Curious...how come some people post what they have built or bought here, others post it in the what are you building or what are you buying threads? Just curious...

@snowhitie, @maniac is right.  It's 8x16 flat tiles.  I'm still not convinced about standard road plates and these tiles make it a bit more intimate and compact.

@bookmum Pizza in front of the telly tonight :-)

@briking thanks, I'm not convinced about normal road plates either. I like to set my city up and down like you, using the living room take. I've used 16*32 baseplates with tiles on top but that becomes expensive  - so always on the lookout for other ideas.

    Enjoy your pizza!

I like the idea of using 8x16 tiles as roads, though I would be inclined turn them the other way to make the roads wider. Sometimes I kind of wish LEGO would implement a new road system using those tiles and possibly some new ones for curves, since it could mean more customizable layouts than 16x16 road plates allow. Imagine, for example, being able to put a crosswalk at any point along a street…

Reached a Lego milestone today. 100 sets!!! I know not alot compared to some other collections, but we all know it not the size that matters, it what's in it;) Most of the sets are large, pc count is over 75,000 so on average each set is 750 pcs.

Thank you I really appreciate that. This has become a much needed pressure release valve for me, a great place to relax and feel like, well, just like a regular guy. Thanks to you and all of you who make this LEGO community so great.

After spotting 853638 in the Glasgow Store I put my Batman CMF inside it. Orca was a real pain to fit in so I had to use of these clips to attach him

^^ Bad Dream Batman recipe is Mr Good and Evil legs (green patches modified to match torso colours), Ghostbusters Zombie Driver torso, Mouth of Sauron head, Teddy I think is from Spooky Girl (again modified),

Great British Batman - Umbrella from Penguin Arctic Roller, Cape and Cowl from sh025, arms and legs generic blue. For the torso you have three options - £2000 original London Lester Square minifg, a 70p copy, or photoshop :-)

Cleared the Lego that was variously being displayed/had come to rest in the spare bedroom. Now Palace Cinema is sitting on my desk with Dr. Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum, so I can finally meld the two in a glorious orgy of tentacles.

    But first, dusting!
Make sure to post some photos.  I'm planning on doing the same thing.

Ooh @Legopants I was in the lovely Northants last week. I found a great shop in Kettering that sells collectables. They have mini figs for £2 each. Worth checking out if you're in that area of Northants. The shop is in The Yards - a cute little independent shops place.

Thanks for the tip @bookmum - unfortunately I'm at the other end of the county (just outside Daventry). I do know Kettering quite well though coz of Wicksteed Park and a past romance in my distant youth.

Jealousy fuels me, I'm not sure what happened to Canada, but the local Toy's-R-Us stores never have any new polybags anymore, it's like they stopped ordering the things. And they used to be so good for finding most Polybags, now, nothing. It defies all logic, and I can't order any off S&H because for some reason Polybags from Themes are never available direct from LEGO unless it's a giveaway.
