Ordered #31031 from tru.com and now I have a second copy  of #31019 instead.

After contemplating my options I drove to the older TRU across town where they had all the older 3-in-1 sets a few weeks ago and got one rather battered but still intact #31031.

This was actually what I was going to do on Wednesday but there was street flooding in the same area as the store so I ordered online. Got the order in 2 days and then discovered they sent the wrong item. As luck would have it, I received a $5 Rewards coupon this morning.

Went to the lego store in the Westfield shopping centre in London. Possibly my least favourite place to go on a Saturday - westfield I mean not the lego store! My daughter gets so overwhelmed by the everything at westfield that she gets too over excited and usually ends up having a meltdown in the lego shop! So anyone out there who was in the westfield branch about 1ish this afternoon - that screaming, kicking child who was literally picked up and carried out the shop... yeah... that was us!! But she calmed down and we went back in and we bought the valentine set #40236 and the wedding set #40165 - my daughter saying that the valentine date looked like it would be a success (what with the gifts of chocolate, teddy bear and er.. pineapple) so obviously a wedding would follow!! Awh.... I love that girl when she isn't having a mega paddy!

Thinking about buying some more TLBM CMFs... Assuming I can get them at €2.50 each (RRP is €3.99), how many should I get?
Can I ask where they can be bought at that price in Ireland? Apologies if it's not something you want to divulge.
I get what I'm willing/able to buy myself before I tell others about it, so I understand. @SumoLego lives in the same area, so I've got to be careful. :)

@omnium sometimes LEGO designers use odd color pieces that end up hidden as a guide when building. I heard that about Architecture, particularly square-ish buildings, but maybe it's what's going on here.

@snowhitie my #41122 Adventure Camp Tree House came with a major part damaged, I built as far as I could without it, assembled some of the other bits, and figured out how to connect them once TLG got me the replacement. Kind of like that?

I'll try to save others from Googling @Salamalex 's post. :) Red Arrows is the RAF display team, https://ideas.lego.com/projects/164965 is an Ideas project based on their planes. cool to have a design focused on one color, and there would be a market for multiples. Apparently people can sign up for Ideas with the same username/password as Shop.

Other than CMFs, the occassional Research Lab for $0.50, or the TRU super-clearance $0.03, I don't really buy my product in the local retail market.

    Happy hunting!

Yay! I managed to build a set! I was right about the subliminal messages regarding cleaning up the house this week, but I suppose my Lego hasn't been hoovered/vacuumed up! I'll be putting the actual build on the appropriate thread. In the meantime, I must share a photo that may help @omnium:

@KingAlanI I assume your question relates to how I put the missing brick in the Disney castle?

I used a different brick for stability while building (it was on the foundation), when the missing piece arrived I put the whole thing on a table with 1/3 sticking out (scary). Then I lied down under it (sort of like a car-mechanic), peeled of the baseplate and changed the bricks over. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Thanks. Yes, I understand that idea. I know some people don't like it too. But the red flick fires really stood out as unusual in this case. I just wonder if the designers occasionally decide that they want to use a different colour for clarity, so also decide to use a rare part on purpose. I know I would.

the new ghostbusters movie is awesome.

Really? I watched it the other day (Prime gave me a free film rental) it was dire. It's not quite a word for word remake of the original. But there's vast swathes of similar dialogue lifted from the 1980s, then they modernise it by throwing in words like "youtube" and "facebook" and finally chuck in some slightly crude jokes and crowbar in a few references that it's a female cast. Girl power. It makes me sad that film makers can't create an original idea these days.

We rewatched the 1984 original a couple days later and despite the shonky 80s CGI, its miles better. I remember seeing it in the cinema when it came out, the remake lacked the story telling and creation of the group in any depth.

@Glacierfalls265 - not being a great LEGO expert (only came out go my dark ages three years ago) and not being a technical builder I played safe and talked about how long it would have taken and how it would probably have been built and rebuilt several times and then picked out a bit of interesting part usage.  The presenter's effort, that was constructed using elements from an old 50's set was easier to critique.  It was rubbish, but I drew on my skills as a special needs teacher and said that 'given the limitations of the element selection' it wasn't too bad.

@KingAlanI - you are quite right and thanks - it was rather lincolncentric for it not to occur to me that people wouldn't automatically know who they were.  I've been lucky enough to see the display team several times because they practise above my route home from school. As a consequence I've also been to their displays so I could see them without fear of causing an accident!

I do like the model but would probably want more than one to display them in formation and for that, I do not have the room.

    .....
    ok.
some of them comments i understand.
    others. like WTF?
1st of all. the new one was giving nod's of yes we not a new idea there was a movie before us we are a Reboot. from start to finish. or as you like to put it.
But there's vast swathes of similar dialogue lifted from the 1980s,
here is how i view this movie.
    parallel universe!
in this universe in the late 1980's, the original teem never formed. and when on to do normal job's never thinking about ghost's. (aka cameos)
also the rules that govern over ghost's ability to manifest in the living world in this universe are easy to see there not 100% the same as it was in the universe for the original movie.
it is plain to see that in the original movie universe, something happened in the long ago past to weekend the wall's from the world of the dead and the world of the living.
in the new movie universe this event did not take place, and this event is plain to see as the point that the 2 movie universe's split.
this is why the original teem never formed. the butterfly effect.
the similar dialogue, is mostly down to the same technology being used.
the other similar dialogue, and cameos of the original teem, is a nod of thanks to the original movie.

the plot. is not like any of the other ghostbusters movies.
in the other movies the main bad guy was a Ghost who was LONG dead.
if you not seen the movie Dont read the Spoiler.
in the new movie the main bad guy is not dead. at the start.
the point is that yes there are something's that follow the same theme. but the underline plot is not the same. a ghostbusters movie follow a set of rules.
start, (1 ghost) middle (more ghosts) Latter, (ghost are on a mass attack) End (big fight with super sized Ghost), i know this going in to the movie. i was expecting this to happen. if you when in to the movie thinking that a reboot, movie was not going to be quite alot like the old one. then shame on you.
i was quite happy with how the movie played out. i when in expecting a carbon copy of the 1st movie with a gender swap. this is not what i got. and i am pleased with the out come.

but this is the real world. you will never please everyone, there will always be someone who hates what you did. and someone who loves what you did.

and just to keep this lego themed.
the #75828 ghostbuester set is now sub £40, and i dont have the cash. rats...

Another BrickLink sorting marathon - some pieces I needed to fill orders were in bags I hadn't sorted yet, and I did other sorting while I had those bags out.
Also finished the number 2 bags of Brick Bank and dusted that
Dusted and stored some of my display. the big #10697 boxes are useful for holding baggies of sets I put away.

I noticed the other day that The Toy Shed in Whitton (Twickenham) wasn't open. But today I see the shop has been mostly cleared out.
It used to have a decent stock of Lego. As it was all at retail price, I rarely shopped there; deals or GWP online were always more attractive. I suspect that may have been a major factor in it's demise.
I wonder if there is much real opportunity for such bricks-and-mortar stores these days?

@omnium there is a lovely toy shop in my home town of Banbury called Trinders. Opened in 1906 and still going! Their lego selection is good - but everything is full RRP so sadly I think people do tend to go to tesco etc because it is 'cheaper'.(not just lego but other toys too) I do fear for this lovely shop. Thing is their ' on the shelf ' range is far superior to the supermarkets and argos but people always want a bargain. Well folks of Banbury if Trinders goes, you may be OK ish for lego but there is nowhere in town to get a decent range of playmobil or syvanians. Shop Trinders!

So I am getting ready to make a regular amazon order for the house with 2 things but I don't have enough for free shipping. I was thinking of adding a Lego set to the order but not sure which one...

Fun in the park is around 30.99 and would be fine but I am not convinced at that price #legoproblems

@jon11380 I do agree it doesn't quite feel the same since they moved across the road. People generally were too lazy to walk to the original spot (unless you were going to argos - which moved out) and now it's not just across the road but ooh 10 metres further down. I really hope it keeps going.

For some bizarre reason, I thought @TheBigLegoski was referring to the name of the MIA thread, and I was thinking "I don't remember Sophia Coppola being involved in a Chuck Norris film?" and then I realised you were both talking about your member name for the forum! It's been a long day (and not yet finished).

For the record, I knew of the saying long before Bill Murray came along, so I never associate it with the film. :-)
