I apologize for not resizing religiously. I will endeavor to do better in the future. I found an app that does it well.

Microsoft Office Picture Manager, the default for most image file types on my setup, can do basic edits easier than Paint. With Paint, cropping top/left requires moving the image first and it can be hard to handle high-res images in any case. I process the image that way, upload it and then post only the link.

Which app? Cropic was suggested somewhere on here a while back, but it hasn't been a friend to me. :)

I liked Office's Picture Manager also, but it was last available with Office 2010. Office 2013 and Office 2016 do not come with Picture Manager... if you upgraded, it might still be in your setup.

I've been using Paint.NET (free) for all my basic image editing for years now; it's all that Paint should be :-)

Finished a few sets I got around Christmas over the break, still got a couple left to build. But I've diverted my evenings to the less than glamorous job of dusting! There are 16 shelves of varying sizes to get through. Over the last three nights I've stripped six bare, dusted everything and rearranged. SW Rebels now has its own (overcrowded) shelf. The Claas tractor is sharing the top shelf with the Unimog. And the poor Millennium Falcon is reduced to a bit part on top of a pile of stacking storage.

Once they're all cleaned I'll turn my attention to widening my modular table to fit the Assembly Square in when I get it later in the year.

dont know quite ware to put this.
    so i place it here.
if the usa members dont yet know.
uk members who try to shop at shop@home now pay £5 more for set priced from £35 to £80 and £10 more for set's price from £90 and up. this change on the 3rd of jan 2017. as of today john lewis online prices are now showing the new RRP or the set's that had a jump in price.
JL did have brick bank at £110, it now £129.99 (and out of stock) i just happy that when i look 20 hours ago i found 1 in stock to buy. and i did get it for the lower price.

i hope that other shops do not follow JL lead on this subject.

@TheOneVeyronian Instead of sacking their current proof-reader, maybe the question that begs asking is whether they actually have one? After last year's "Westminister" snafu?

Maybe it's like S@H: instead of having a professional team for these things, they just rotate interns with random backgrounds and hope for the best?

Debating if I should put more money in my savings or have one last Lego blow out before my £100 Lego budget comes into effect?

The majority of me says save it. The voice in my head says buy a Tie Fighter.

@stlux I always assumed the westminister was a purposeful joke, as in mini for minifigure. But now I am not so sure.

I've been having a bit of a trial with a BL order, which I raised a couple of weeks before Christmas... Anyway, Christmas came and went with no sign of my order turning up, so I queried the seller, who assured me that it had been sent soon after I had paid.
They suggested that I choose some other items from their store, with a 50% discount. I commented that I had only been after a few specific pieces and that they only now had one remaining in stock.
I then got an email back, rather apologetic, that they'd checked their stock and where they should have had 1 of this item, they actually had 5, plus extra stock of the other items that I had ordered, so it transpired that they hadn't sent the order at all! Doh!
Anyway, I've been assured that it has now been posted and I'm hoping it turns up tomorrow, so that I can finish my Ferris Wheel red gondolas. :-)
Other than that, I'm planning to start building my first Architecture set tonight, #21034 London. Double :-)

Did anyone else point out that the police cruiser in the Batman set looks very similar to the cruiser in the Kwik-E Mart set?

As the Christmas decorations got put away a day early, wifey has decided she wants to go sales shopping at Bluewater.
This is a turn up for the books as one of my favourite shops just happens to be there as well.

But as soon as I've finish buying Krispy Kreme donuts, I may well pop into the Lego store to have a look at the price increases.        :)

I was finally able to get to a LEGO Store for some of the new sets yesterday and just finished the Lance vs. Lightning set. Great little set, but something is really bugging me about it's box:

Is it just me or does LEGO really need to sack it's proofreader? What makes it worse is that on the side, the correct English spelling appears... as one of the foreign translations! En-lightening it is not, it's more shocking to me. It's Artic Batman all over again!

I guess that's the beast's name, but if it's a pun I don't get it. maybe that makes more sense if that's the gargoyle's name?

On that subject, I have also been converted to the Elves range, as Ragana's Castle is an excellent set and the girls really enjoyed building it. I think they'll be getting a few more sets from that theme! :-)

You know what goes well with Ragana's Castle? The Tower of Orthanc. :-)

My own status update: Christmas and New great was busy! And no-one listened when I asked everyone to not post over the holiday period. So now I've resigned myself to missing some posts...

Still not built anything. Had to take down my Christmas sets (and didn't even post a photo on here of them - rats). But did manage to go shopping, so that's all good! I'll post my purchases in the relevant thread...

In the meantime, this weekend my lovely other half has guaranteed that we don't need to go out for anything. The forecast is rain. The gang are happy mooching about. I might get something built! Unless the garage needs sorting, but I'm not letting Cathy anywhere near there - I'm not mad!

yeah I had office 2003 professional and upgraded to office 2007 student so it kept some of the 2003 bells and whistles.

Still waiting on a PAB order from November 27th.  According to the order status Lego are waiting on new stock of White 1x8 Flat Tiles.  So why does it not show up as out of stock if I start a new PAB order?

    USELESS!!!

Ah the curse of us AFOLs without enough space for permanent display - disassembly of sets, I hate it. Exactly the opposite feeling to the joy of building.

    Proud of my consistency.

Sets owned from the past 3 years:

    2014 - 140
    2015 - 136
    2016 - 138

Only 118-122 more sets to buy in 2017 and I'm good!

    Sigh.
That's a really good tool.  I hadn't realised it existed.

Here's mine.  Pretty consistent also.  Incredible.

Found the Book of Knights at Big W for $20 (was going to just BrickLink Merlok, but cheapest is $23 without shipping) along with #70317 The Fortrex for $83 (40% off RRP), so now we've got what we figure are the key Nexo Knights sets James will be likely to want. Also picked up #10813 Big Construction Site for Anthony to round out the Duplo Construction sets (also close to 40% off RRP). The only problem right now is that Myer have a $15 off for every $75 spent on Lego promo, so tempted to grab a few things....I need a lottery win.

^ I've learned that while I, myself, am an adult, I am completely helpless without the other adult in our household. For example, today I went to Home Depot alone. Despite having the size of our air filters saved in my phone, I still returned home with the wrong ones.
I went to the grocery store to get orange juice and came home with three gallons of milk.  And a bag of Cheetos.

    (Four servings of dairy!)

    so yodel let me down.

order placed with shop@home on the 5th of January 2017 at about 5am
order shipped out same day at about 6pm.
order entered the UK and was tracked at Hatfield terminal at 11am on the 6th of January 2017.
order arrived at my local depot at 1am on the 7th January 2017.

this is why yodel let me down. my order is still at my Local depot. and live chat said Monday.
and it was going so well.

[time's have been rounded up or down to the closes hour]

Why would you expect a Sunday delivery? Yes Yodel are pants but if you do get it (and in one piece) on Monday then that's pretty good going:

To be fair, I'd expect delivery on the next working day after the depot received it so I don't think they've done too badly.  Disappointing for a big kid waiting for Christmas though.  :)
