Not a Christmas film per se but I associate it with Christmas as I remember watching it most years as a kid

@JooTog I don't have any close ups of the logo, but I'll try to go back next week and take some! Is this to see the building method used?
Pretty much. It kind of looks to me like a sticker from that angle.
I'm just curious; it's not like I'm going to build anything remotely similar to that beauty, but might do the logo ;-)
I always try to resize pictures prior to posting them on the forum, so I had another look at the original high-res pictures I took. Confirmation it is a sticker indeed:

    Thanks!

I know, I actually said that to a colleague on Friday. To Amazon!

Also have Nightmare Before Christmas which wasn't in the stack.

Come on, now isn't the time to watch Nightmare Before Christmas.
That movie is part Halloween and part Christmas, so the only logical thing to do is average them out and watch it on Thanksgiving ;)

It's still more Christmassy than Frozen, which is not a Christmas movie, Die Hard, Die Hard 2, now those are Christmas movies.

Sorry, as I was saying.. I remember watching nightmare before Christmas at the cinema at Easter! The audience was me, my sister and about 30 girls from the nearby boarding school.

You missed Muppets Christmas Carol and The Grinch off the list as well as The Great Escape, its nothing to do with Christmas, I just always watch it over the festive period!

Sorry for starting a Christmas movie debate! For those interested, we do actually have a dedicated thread on the subject http://bricksetforum.com/discussion/17930/top-5-christmas-films

Anyway, Home Alone 1& 2 ticked off the list today!

Not disappointed like I was with Episode 7.
So I built the Eclipse Fighter tonight. :)

I would say an awesome job. We ordered two, as I'm giving one to my dad for xmas & the children are giving me one. James wants us get one to put aside for when he eventually leaves home, 7 years old & already a Beatles fan.

I keep seeing random 2017 sets sneaked into the shops. I am resisting. I have bought all the Xmas pressies. Don't need any more. Oh no I don't...

For a change I'm not jealous: 2017 Star Wars/Nexo Knights/Friends sets are available since 2 weeks over here (MaxiToys), and are as of last week available at all major stores in Luxembourg. Makes a change from new sets only showing up weeks later in Luxembourg compared to elsewhere!

So far I have only been tempted to pick up #75168 Yoda's Jedi Starfighter at -15%. Would have also been tempted by #75175 A-wing Starfighter, but that's a limited release so unlikely to show up in any shops here.

Now that I have seen the box, I have taken a liking to #41311 Heartlake Pizzeria. Will be the 2nd Friends sets I'll own (so far only have #41129 Amusement Park Hot Dog Van). Waiting for a discount though.

However no sign yet of any 2017 TLBM, City or Creator sets :(

Current status: still getting over missing out on the gingerbread man offer in S@H. Made an order a week before the offer started to make sure I got some keychains delivered well in time to be wrapped before Christmas. Had a few things on my wants list to get to €35 for free delivery and read on here they'd run out of them online.

The gingerbread house in my Christmas display in work looks so *ahem* desserted without the fig.

I'm living vicariously through you opening and building all of these sets. I have a good number of them, but am not remotely organized enough to build some of them yet. Mrs. Yodalicious has asked that I get the LEGO somewhat tidied before I build anything else. I'm obliging because she deals with this out of control hobby of mine.

My status today is looking through old Harry Potter sets and figuring out which ones I want to hunt for. I'm justifying the spend by the fact that since they didn't release a Fantastic Beasts wave of sets.

I think after Palace Cinema I'll need to massively reorganise the man-cave to create space for at least part of my backlog. The larger sets are great, but they do take up a lot of space :-S

^ Well, on the plus side, I have narrowed down the number of sets I want drastically. The more I look at them, the less the builds are that appealing to me. Minifigs is a different story though. I'm cursing myself.

Not to mention that in about 30 minutes, I'm going to head out on my lunch break in search of...you guessed it...minifigs. Eight to go in the Batman movie CMF series.

Having fun with the #60051 Passenger Train. Grandson very quickly determined that anything over "3rd gear" causes derailment. I was surprised that the Power Functions remote is so small.

since they didn't release a Fantastic Beasts wave of sets.
The optimist in me still hopes. Interesting that they seem to have distinctly marketed FB to adults to the point there was very little licensed merch- funko pops and the Dimensions sets were about as close to toys for the franchise as they produced.

The film was distinctly darker than Potter but still seems a missed opportunity.

^ I hope too, but the fact that the movie came out already and nothing has even been announced, let alone released, leads me to believe the ship has sailed. Of course, if they ever do a wave for one of the future sequels, they could revisit the first movie.

For the last couple of days, my life has been like a roller coaster. It's like today when I went to the LEGO Store. I traded a couple minifigures, had a fun chat with the manager, and was happy to leave with a Minnie Mouse and a Minecraft Steve. But then when I come home, I start hearing my parents argue. It's been like that for a couple of days, but they talk about things as if I were not there. They were talking about how our family is losing money because of a couple of my injuries. They were talking about what would happen to the future. They even blaintly talked about divorcing. I just collapsed on my bed. I have just been really sad and depressed lately and I am very sorry if I have done anything bad to this Brickset Community.

I think if I referred to my wife as "Mrs. SumoLego" she would probably send my UCS Millennium Falcon to @Pitfall69.

After getting this guy today, I only have 1 modern Batman version to go.

Which one?  And if it's one of the SDCC exclusives, then nevermind.

@SumoLego After I returned home with an inflatable Yoda in full Santa attire yesterday, my wife may be ready to do the same.

No, nothing like that. The last one I need is the one from the Black Manta set.

Wow, when I saw SW xmas tree decorations @xiahna happily took James off elsewhere while I hunted through the pile for ones in the best condition I could find, we're steadily getting a build up of Marvel, SW, DW, etc, etc xmas & halloween decorations. Surely I'm not alone in this...

This has nothing to do with Lego but I wanted to share. On new years day this year (yes almost a year ago) BBC tv showed Sherlock. I recorded it to watch 'later'. I have finally got round to watching it!!! I was determined to watch it before the next episode (new year day 2017 I assume). And very good it was too!

/\ At least it makes a far shorter gap between episodes for you! Nerd fact, the front door they use for 221B Baker St, is not on Baker St at all, but up near Euston Station, theres a nice cafe next door that been used for filming the series, they do a nice sausage and bacon bap. Its called Speedys, which is my nickname.

Yesterday and todays status: Was going to spend the day building SW LEGO sets I'd bought recently, but my bad back has finally cleared up enough to do all those jobs I should have done a month ago....lawn is raked of leaves, garage is tidied up so our 70s Beetle can be tucked away for a bit and the majority of the presents are wrapped. I managed to build the SW Rebels A-Wing last night while sat in front of the TV.
