Tonight I was paid for 1 S16 Babysitter. I've sold a few of those lately, so I'll feel for that next time I get a chance. Banana and Penguin aren't selling, same goes for S15 Shark, so I'll cut price and not get more.
I used PayPal to print labels for Christmas gifts, so ingrained and so cheap. https://www.paypal.com/shipnow works for a package not associated with a PP payment, thanks to whoever pointed that out in a BL thread.
So do I class it as 'retro' or 'vintage'?
It feels so...institutional. But for the moment, it's the only option to try to keep him safe when he explodes with emotion he cannot control.
In my bedroom I built some shelving and it's now my loose LEGO life in progress. Tubs of built stuff that needs to be fixed and a place found for display, tubs of minifigures, Dimensions stuff, tubs of loose bricks to sort, lots of that. Lots of tubs of stuff to be built. The packaged stuff is all in the basement. I have 8 multi-drawer units a,ready, looking for more (I'm trying to buy vintage ones with the clearer more rigid plastics) that will go on the right wall as a building space goes up.
Looking at the words above, I could have left off paragraph 1 and 2. But that's not me. Not my life. I think I do it because I want to stress how important LEGO has become to me to navigate the powerfully deep emotional valleys I experience raising a son with special needs. The process, the creativity, the history, the community, the...possibilities...these things help me from falling in when I am walking along the edge of a precipice.
Looking forward to continue to work on all of this...especially figuring out how to safely display some of it. It also amazes me how compact LEGO is when a lot of it is not assembled. WOOT!
Also, got back into the office late today to find my second Secret Santa gift of the year has appeared, this one is just between myself and a work colleague.....and it has to be LEGO!
I watched Episode one last night, will watch two and three before Tuesday when I see Rogue One.
I need a closer picture of the LEGO logo on the chest... PLEASE?!
What about 'Hipster'?
I'm sure there are some parenting support groups for this :-P
Do you feel a love-hate relationship with the rest of the community too?
Why? Why do I keep coming back and scroll down to the Shopping USA/Canada section right away? Because AFOLs are mean! Yes! We are mean! :-)
Seriously, love you guys... my wallet doesn't love you, my bank account does love you... my imaginary girlfriend... but I do (my credit card finance institute love you more)
I felt shame that the first thing that came to my mind was "episode 3 and 4 of Nexo Knights". I was going to apologize when I realized "episode 3" 3?!. So no apology to you fellow AFOL.
Episode 1? 1?! Ok; I admit that I like Episode 1.
Rogue One? One? Oh wait... I have not seen it yet and I'm sure I'm gonna like it. You're good ;-)
Well, this was fun; at least for me.
My LEGO status? This community rocks and a big thanks to all of you for a great year. Long live the Brick!
.....the budget used to be £15.
Mr Hipster is holding an apple from the farmers market and Mrs Hipster has the £100 to pay for it. She won't get any change. This is why they can only afford to live in a house where the front door is too small.
What I don't understand how anyone can subject themselves to The Empire Strikes Back, even once.
After Hoth, it's all downhill from there...
Now there's a movie...
Here's the bit of our tree that I could easily snap with the camera on my laptop - the house is gradually getting Christmassy, and unless I've badly misjudged how good anyone has been this year, Santa should be leaving some Lego under it soon...
Last night I used some Avengers tote bags (early Christmas pressie from a friend) to finally organise the stash of unbuilt sets in my wardrobe... now there's seven words early 2016 me never thought she'd type!!
I'm just curious; it's not like I'm going to build anything remotely similar to that beauty, but might do the logo ;-)

Didn't see anything in Target - figured I'd probably be buying online, but I was there anyway. I like telling people that Target will price match their own website amongst other places. Saw a guy I knew from high school. He never got out of LEGO but complained about the cost of modern stuff. I had an out of town job summer 2011 and didn't bring my LEGO. I blamed that for my dark age, which is part of it.
Book 4/5 completed :-) Most of the trim panels assembled and attached.
Just one book to go now :-))
I have rebuilt parts of it no less than 10 times now.
Son is making #66547 Axl's Tower Carrier and we are listening to Stephen Fry reading 'A boy called Christmas' by Mat Haig, seems to be quite a good book. Love this time of year.
Il Tumblero is finished :-) What a ruddy beauty! Just need to find somewhere to put it now... :-S
And now what....? :-)
At least the wikipedia page for Bridget Jone's Diary has the word "Christmas" on it...
Stalk over. :)
