Finished building the Winter Holiday train, but found it slightly too cute for my taste.
Luckily I had ordered two...
The last wagon/carriage came to me while reading another thread with remarks towards dogging... and because I really like the Friends hot dog van...
Now need to clear space and get those winter sets up and on display, no time to lose!
Need to open the other two to see how it goes....which means I need store room for them. #LEGOproblems
I'll pass that on to Mrs Legopants - it's all her work. I just bought the thing and schlepped it home ;-D
You know (well, of course you know) building LEGO is way more fun that facing reality! WOOOOT.
So I had my little adventure into 'town' as fellow Londoners may say *. Shop was nice. The large display models were fantastic. Loved the Big Ben that actually chimed on the hour. The giant pic on the wall going up the stairs was amazing.....but....well there was a lot of spare floor space that was mostly filled with tourists (and me) taking pics of the various giant models. Queue to actually BUY things was tiny. What did I buy? Well there wasn't much in the way of small little sets. I was hoping for some polybags for stocking fillers and there wasn't any (usually loads at Westfield) and the novelty bits weren't anything different. I ended up buying the London Bus because I thought it was cute and I like buses (even though I have *whisper it* the wilkos blox version - forgive me). And then I walked to Covent Garden and saw the Lego models there. The elves are a bit freaky ! So a nice morning out but will still need to pop to a TRU or somewhere for those stocking fillers. *I've been living in London ten years now - not sure that qualifies me as an actual Londoner. PS took some photos but can't add them because of some boring technical stuff.
Mariachi Man
Genie (Disney)
I have 6 of these sessions tomorrow. I'm thinking a theme is in order. Maybe the Avengers. Or just Iron Man variants.
Friday's session will definitely be from Star Wars for obvious reasons.
And thanks - this has been my first attempt at building without instructions for over ten years, really enjoyed it, glad you have as well :-)
Tell me about it... had a massive lay off (20% of employees) a month ago...
My position was made redundant, but was offered someone else's (with twice my salary) with over 40 years experience in mineral oil tax... and have absolutely no experience in this area. I'll give it a shot, because I'd rather avoid being a late forties having to change careers.
I sure am glad to be able to build LEGO in times like this!!
Thanks so much :-)
...too be honest, I couldn't face going in to work today and called in sick (first time in over ten years), but I guess it paid off!
...and sorry for the double post...
As for the engine, that'll take a while....and I need to see about getting another track piece :)
For the first time ever I walked away empty handed!
Just finished putting together my Winter Village.
Yay!
My status: jumped on the dimensions boat after they dropped the portal price to ridiculous lows at target, I had just been collecting a few for the figures but now I might have to get more. I've made a terrible mistake.
Guess I'll have to go back and focus more....
Very talented person who built them... but.... scary!
Rest of the village is for the next days...
On a Lego note, TLG have done really well with the look of the sets from the film, and I will definitely be adding them to my Star Wars collection.
(A green lightsaber? I was thinking Nerf orange.)
