I thought you were going to say after some re-assembly, you realized that the motor had gone time traveling and that you would need a crossbow, a goat, 6 hourglasses, someone to play the trumpet and someone to wiggle their fingers to get the train to work :)

It did. And it brought back with it a crazy scientist, a school teacher, and their kids.

Feeling really really Christmassy. Spent yesterday evening wrapping gifts to take up to family this weekend, have put up festive decorations in the office (PoundWorld's finest), arranged a department Christmas meal and Secret Santa, downloaded a Happy Holidays theme for my phone keyboard and today wearing my Christmas Coca-Cola t-shirt. Just generally feeling full of Christmas spirit....

Unfortunately I still have nine days of work before I can properly chill out.
And I really want to build my Christmas train and Disney castle!! Might have to take the train with me to mum's to build over Christmas...  If I can carry it with all the rest of my stuff!
    Bah! Humbug! ;-)

I've just had (another) operation (on my nose this time). Sinus enlargement, polyp removal, septum straightened. So I can't build Lego at the moment - bending my head down makes my nose bleed :-(
Tried and nearly got claret all over my pieces. Typing this message lying on my back! It will all subside in time for Christmas though.  Hope everyone else is feeling the Christmas spirit like @LostInTranslation - I'll have four Santa's Little Helpers to get our house decorated this weekend! Should be fun!

Feeling fairly festive, but not fully in the mood just yet! Got another weeks worth of work to get though, mostly spent away from home. So next weekend will be tree buying and deocrating and then I have almost three weeks off work. Plenty of building time and relaxing.

Despite my "Bah! Humbug!" comment above, off tomorrow morning to buy a tree :-)
I'll leave the tinselisation and bauble-hanging to Mrs Legopants though coz apparently I'm a bit crap at that sort of thing - and I'll only incur her Teutonic wrath if I get involved :-S

I'm feeling pretty down today, poorly child, no space for a tree, too much to do not enough time in the day. I'm hoping I can build something Christmassy to cheer me up, even if I don't have the time or the space.

@chrisalddin, real trees, I remember that from when I was living at home, even though we had several blankets under the tree to cut down on mess, pine needles were still turning up months later, but the house smelled awesome.

Assembled & decorated the tree, check.
    Assembled Lego Christmas sets, check.
Had a fruit mince pie, check.
Had a peppermint candle cane, check.
    Had egg nog, check.
    Had Pfeffernüsse, check.
Purchased Panettone for Christmas day, check.

Okay, it's officially Christmas season for me now...

We always get a real tree. Cut the bottom inch off the trunk, soak in water and then sit in a stand with water in. Keep the water topped up every few days. Rarely see a dropped needle until we come to take it out of the house!
  • snowhitiesnowhitie Member Posts: 3,078
We've been buying these nordman trees for the last 5 -6 years and they keep their needles really well too. Bit softer while you are decorating as well. Usually a big hoover after hanging the baubles and then just after taking it out like @Speedman29 .

Can't beat the smell of a real one!

Looking forward to start building the winter village tomorrow. Wish I had the energy now, but need a rest. Maybe the snowglobe though ;)

@Legopants waw, have you recently got an extension to your house to display all the big sets?

No. But I wish I could build one :-S  Space is getting a bit tight here in the "office cum man-cave". Need to do a bit of shuffling around over Christmas.

Got a backlog of larger sets which I've now decided to start building :-)  Keep having to pack away smaller sets to make room for the big 'uns though.

^^^ Oh man that is awesome. This is what I envisioned when I got my first WV set. Too bad I missed the first few years of their release.

^^Fantastic @Peter1975! When I bought my first couple WV sets I also envisioned a large display like this...alas a lack of space over the years and a huge desire for other themes has precluded me from doing this, but it is very inspirational!

I am hoping to go into central London like @TheOriginalSimonB next week and see that Xmas display and see the new Leicester Square store. All my Xmas shopping is done, decorations half up, school Xmas fair tomorrow so I am feeling nice and christmassy. I am currently building a house for my Father Xmas minifig to live in.

Contemplating what to build on tonight now that I've finished Chesty. Have way too many choices, and that's never a bad thing. Might risk it and put up our tree. See how it is with our youngest after he comes home (ten minutes from now), the one with the disabilities. Past couple of days have been...calmer. Not free of aggression totally, but calmer. I'll take it. :)

I saw it yesterday and I totally agree! I also hope there will be more sets in the future like there have been with Frozen. A bigger Kakamora ship (maybe something around the size of the Piggy Pirate Ship from the Angry Birds theme) would be amazing, as would a set with a brick-built Tamatoa.

I loved that Kakamora ship, what you see in the LEGO set is almost an insult to it.
I'd also love a big brick built Te Kā set with a hawk Maui - I like what they've done with Te Kā in #41150 as a nice play feature, but a full body one would me so much better.

Tamatoa could make a great set, even if don't at a similar scale to Shelob in #9470. Also the huge boat (don't want to say much more for spoilers but I think you'll probably know which I mean from that) would make a great set.

I doubt there'll be any more Moana LEGO - even though I think it's technically a much better film than Frozen I don't think it's going to get anywhere near as popular - I'm just going to hope for a Moana minifigure in a Disney Series 2 CMF ;-)
