I don't really want to write this several times, so I'm going to write it here (hopefully everyone that needs to sees it).
I just lost my pet rabbit, and don't really feel up to packing/shipping at the moment, so if I'm in a buy/sell/trade with you, it's going to take me longer than usual to do anything.

    Same goes for @Lowa...

@SprinkleOtter Sorry for your awful loss. I wish I could say something but I've never really had a pet so I haven't experienced the loss of a beloved little animal before.

Hmm... to bricklink or dismantle? Ive reached that point in my Christmas village building where I realise I 'liberated' six key elements from 10235 for other projects. So do I bricklink and hope they arrive in time or do I dismantle, knowing the likelihood is that I won't rebuild?

^^^ looks great!  Haven't built mine and I've had it years... Might have to do some de-boxing soon!  Much bigger than I expected.

Go for it! I put off building mine way too long! Bit fiddly in places and a bit hard on the thumbs but a most enjoyable build indeed - something you can really get your teeth into :-)

At a rare point in my collecting at the moment, after the 3 for 2 sales, half price sets and varying other sales over the last few months, apart from retired sets (which can wait for a bit) I actually haven't got any large sets that I am in a rush to get.
I'm now actually really looking forward to a couple of months of just building some of the backlog.

^Looks between 270-325 pieces. Hope that helps, just an estimated guess. (Counted one "row" then counted how many "rows" there were)

Also the 2 year old loved looking at all the Lego in Smyths today, he was all wow and amazed by it all :)
Can I ask why it matters how many there are?

TRU, Target, LEGO Store... The LEGO Batman Movie sets are all over. I'm doing all I can to wait for the mandatory 20% off, but I'm loosing the battle. I want them. I want them all. I want them NOW!

In other news, watching Ninjago on Amazon Prime Video. Never watched the show before; time to catch up now that I have a few sets. 5 episodes in and looking forward to see how that Lloyd "mini-Palpatine" kid becomes the golden ninja sitting in my Dimensions collection. NO SPOILER PLEASE!!!

Finally got around to designing my Orient Express! Except... I've never built a train without instructions before and the locomotive is difficult...especially when you're working with LDD and not actual pieces. Oh well, I'll get there eventually :)

Latest set to be fixed up, overall seemed kinda small in size. I think will need at least 4 sets to convert to a modular scaled version.

Thanks to TLG's insanely cheap prices on [email protected] for the new Dimensions packs, I now have another 2x Mission Impossible & 2x Adventure Time Level packs coming just for the short sleeve arms, plus 2x Tina Goldstein Fun packs, as @xiahna wants to use the head for her sigfig (we've decided to go with flesh over yellow, cause....Marvel).

@SprinkleOtter it was for my guess how many in the jar for the school Christmas fair, the answer 1,039 :)

It went ok, the thing that worked best was the tower building, I would do that again. Also would have to think of other little games for the next one but that's in summer.

The best bit of it all though was when a boy from my son's class (age 10) said wow you have awesome parents :) haha

Had a particularly hectic week with BrickLink. Big orders to fill, including parts from sets I hadn't sorted yet. Been burned by that before - sort the set efficiently, or pick out just parts needed now? Got 6 #10697 at WalMart on Thanksgiving and and just got 2 ordered on Cyber Monday. They're relatively easy  - many items by lot and come bagged by color.

Sometimes I'm too quick to jump on LEGO bargains - I miss a better deal on another set, the same set gets discounted further later, or non-LEGO spending (what's that? :P)
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,342
Excited my 3 #70806 Castle Calvary sets I got for $6.35 each all turned up in perfect condition from Amazon. So much bley/dark bley for mocs!

That set seems like a stylistic predecessor to Nexo Knights, though Nexo has more transparent.

Yeah, that's a steal. Average BrickLink prices add up to $42.53, 6.7x. I look for a bit over 2x, and around 3x is a big score.

    PS
It's Cavalry; Calvary is the location of Jesus' crucifixion - a rather important distinction. ;)

A few months after I came out of my dark age, I had most of the sets I wanted and my spending leveled off.
My backlog is that I'm not far into #10251 and #41180. Hopefully I can work on those this weekend. Partially built sets kicking around are even more of a mess than sealed boxes. :)
