Taking apart our current display sets - bittersweet moment with the Super Star Destroyer. But now we get to put something else in its place!!

^ It's a pity we don't have a Tardis available to put all our completed works in - that thing would take forever to run out of room! And we'd never have to disassemble again!

Had to explain to my 8-year-old that while we do believe in sharing and love to share with her, she really should ask before she builds Daddy's QAR.
  • LegobrandonCPLegobrandonCP Member Posts: 1,917
^ LOL, did she finish it? :D
  • JenniJenni Member Posts: 1,390
^ No :) She built one of the upper decks that's quite hard to put in and gave up at that point and played on the floor with the just finished EN and all the QAR minifigs instead.

I need someone to sort all my loose lego bricks as doing it myself is taking forever

My local WHSmiths keeps finding stock of old CMFs to tempt me with. Picked up 8 series 3, 7 different figs, despite already having a complete series 1-7...

Just received my Hulk minifigure - together with 3 Monster Fighter sets :-)
Really quick shipping too - ordered on Monday evening, and received Thursday morning. German efficiency?

Bought black collared polo-shirt ready for my volunteering stint at the Peabody MA Grand Opening this weekend (working Saturday). Now I just need the apron ...

Too many packets for the post box, some will have to wait till tomorrow because I filled the box! Wretched sun promo, I shudder to think what it'll be like when the Olympic figs arrive...

Just got my 2nd TC-14 in the mail today, so pretty stoked! Now I can open one of them....*crinkle crinkle, rip, sniff* Ahhh, that new plastic smell.
  • BuriedinBricksBuriedinBricks Member Posts: 1,367
@legopants - Jealous. I'm still waiting on my order I placed on the first day of the promo. Tracking says delivery is coming today. I hope that's true.
  • LegopantsLegopants Member Posts: 2,097
@iccarus - S@H Germany seems to be pretty quick. I ordered the VW Camper a couple of weeks ago to get the TC-14 and that was shipped in about 3 days too.

MONSTER FIGHTERS MONSTER FIGHTERS MONSTER FIGHTERS =-D Need to find out where The Zombies will be selling and haven't done the Ghost Train or Vampyre Castle yet but I'm in love with the theme. Also finally built the Avenger's Quinjet so just need the Spidey/Doc Ock set and the polybags to complete both themes. So how awesome is he Vampyre Hearse? And the light brick mechanism in the Crazy Scientist's lab is fantastic especially through the trans neon green stick and dish!

Finished Cafe Corner via bricklink. Nice model...but if you pay 1000 for a new one your'e nuts.
  • martynmartyn Member Posts: 148
Just built my bricklinked / PaB'd / Replacement Parted LEGO Store (3300003). Really looks cool, espcially with the "brick" on the roof.
  • BuriedinBricksBuriedinBricks Member Posts: 1,367
@dimefield - what did your total cost end up coming in at? I'm down to two pages on my want list and hoping to get the remainder ordered tonight.

First round of parcels for mine showed up today. Getting excited to start building this.

  • dimefielddimefield Member Posts: 314
@iccarus Around 300 CA dollars. I was bricklinking Green Grocer at the same time so i havent broken down the cost by order. Only substitues i made were the Old gray parrots and the 20 white window panels. I have 11 of the old ones but got tired of ordering one at a time...lol
  • BuriedinBricksBuriedinBricks Member Posts: 1,367
Yeah, I gave up trying to find the old panels and just went with the version with side supports. It may not be correct, but I just got sick of messing with it and trying to figure out the best way to go about getting them..
  • dimefielddimefield Member Posts: 314
I actually bought a used copy of Transport Ferry with even knowing it has 8 of them! Ill get the other 9 someday.

I will sound unappreciative, but, glad weekday Sun Promos are over, a tad fedup with the randomness and hassle, just to find out they are out of stock, again....
Got a couple from some days and have had fun with my son, me trying to get him to build as per the instructions, him insisting that he wants to build his own keyachion (hasn't quite got the hang of the word creation yet!) :) but darn it can be frustrating.

Doing a lot of minifig parts sorting. Low and behold, I found a left arm for Cloud City Boba Fett.

The holy grail. It's almost funny when you can mention finding an arm of a 2" plastic figure in a thread, and everyone to recognize it as something worth mentioning. Either way, @prevere would you be interested in selling it?
  • prevereprevere Member Posts: 2,923
^ It's funny, I was finding a bunch of brown flower stems - and know those are exclusive to the Cloud City set, I figured there was a chance to uncovering Boba pieces. I'm PM you on the other question.

R2-D2 UCS dispatched yesterday. Hoping to get back to the flat to find it there today. Excited isn't the word, although seeing as it was a very early birthday present the other half has denied me the chance to open it unti lmy actual birthday.

Gah, done out of six quid in the office sweepstakes by Englebert not coming last in Eurovision! (bloody Latvians gave him some points near the end). I had plans to put my winnings toward the new beach set.

Still, loving the winning choon... Euphooooria!

[I know this is not reeeally Lego-related but hey ho... ;-) ]

A great dat at Peabody's Grand Opening, helping with Spongebob™ build, etc. Back home, resting with tea and biccies :)

Did you know it takes 2 people 90 minutes to take apart the Super Star Destroyer? Watched the entire 5th season of the Guild doing so.

^A moment of silence for the disassembled SSD. 'Tis a fine ship to be displayed.
  • BuriedinBricksBuriedinBricks Member Posts: 1,367
I'm having fun posing Super Heroes figs on my modulars. Deadpool and Wolverine are currently locked in an epic battle on the roof of the GE.

Now we just need a police station so I can make a custom bat signal.

My current Lego status : Happy that my Lego store got white horses in, but sad that the employees there said that they don't put minifigures or minifigure parts in the grab bag. Oh well.
  • LegopantsLegopants Member Posts: 2,097
Just built Monster Fighters 9465 (The Zombies).
Great zombie minifigs - esp. the "zombette".
Look forward to getting the rest of the theme :-)

My current Lego status is none for today, too hot in Holland even to built Lego. On the other hand an advantage if you want to buy on auction sites, people sell to get money for their holiday. Found a rare Pirates set and made a nice deal.

LEGO status - On Friday I discovered that my Art tutor is a fellow FOL, and we spent the lesson discussing CMF buying tactics! He was dismayed that he coudn't find a Statue of Liberty (S6) anywhere so set me on the case. I obtained one from Forbidden Planet today and am swapping her for his Gorilla Suit (S3). Happy times!

Building the portal of Atlantis tonight. Anyone actually tried building it? It's the weirdest Lego set ever. I dont even understand how you'd play with it, and the mechanism only works sometimes! Not surprised it's been so reduced everywhere.

Also, having seen todays edition, I'm glad I don't have to but the Sun for another 6 months.
  • LegoboyLegoboy Member Posts: 8,827
^ I hope it's longer - relieved it's over! Nothing else in the year causes so much aggravation. Just feel compelled to get involved though.
  • samiam391samiam391 Member Posts: 4,505
@Si... It certainly is a very weird set. I'm happy to say I just sold mine on eBay last night and am now enjoying the great pleasure of taking the thing apart.
  • ErnstErnst Member Posts: 133
Looked at the set sometime ago. Maybe nice for parts but still too expensive for just that purpose.
  • andyscouseandyscouse Member Posts: 365
^^ I got it on sale for $55 on TRU, but purely for parts -- as yet unopened but will be parted out soon.
  • dimefielddimefield Member Posts: 314
Parted mine out too...looked through the instructions and besides the Portal nothing else looked like an interesting build.

Ship building weekend! Black Pearl, QAR, Imperial Flagship and Destiny's Bounty (although the latter barely counts).

3 Days into a 10 day vacation and have built:

    8097: Millenium Falcon
    7346: Seaside House
    9471: Uruk-hai Army
    6868: Hulk Helicarrier Breakout

Like a nice sampler plate of themes... keep the buffet coming!

While I wait semi-patiently for all my CC parts to come in, I'm finally getting around to building the Pet Shop.

Almost done with the townhouse and I find myself wishing LEGO would put together more sets like this one. They could easily do more of these smaller buildings and probably sell a ton of them, plus get people hooked on the larger ones more easily.
  • dimefielddimefield Member Posts: 314
Done the main floor of Green Grocer... waiting for a lot of Sand Green to show up in my mail box.
