@xiahna - hope the appointment on 15th goes well. I can't imagine anything which involves the word 'cancer' to be anything but traumatic, so I wish you all the best and good luck.

I currently cannot sleep. And I timed my codeine intake very badly today. At least there's no more antibiotics so I can drink again. Huzzah!

^ Not sure how that will help me sleep, but thanks for thinking of me anyway! ;-)

Made more funny due to the page advance - I have no idea who @starwars4ever is replying to!

@bendybadger  My backyard IS the ocean, there is average flooding right now. The wind is worse than anticipated, my house feels like a boat, the movement is mostly because it sits on stilts.
I'll keep my 15 feet of snow and the occassional ice storm.  The prospect of the ocean trying to claim my house, or 85+ mph trying to blow my house in the ocean - no thanks!
Yeah, Rochester winters can suck, but the low risk of natural disasters is worth it. And the summers are usually tolerable, though this year is a scorcher.

Thought I'd got a wildlife photographer and a penguin suit among the series 16s I bought at lunch but ended up with an unexpected mariachi and Arabian gentleman. Not sure where the error occurred but I suppose I was in a bit of a hurry. Very annoyed with myself!

Closet cleaning/organizing continues (I really hope to be done today). Opened a box with random documents and found the following LEGO instructions:

    - #6208 B-Wing Fighter
    - #4500 Rebel Snowspeeder
    - #4492 Mini Star Destroyer
    - #4493 Mini Sith Infiltrator
    - #4404 Mini Imperial Shuttle

I think that's all the LEGO I have in storage (38 sets; all Star Wars).

Well, back to box sorting, repacking and throwing away stuff... calm down, no LEGO is being thrown away.

My Lego status today is once again confirming I have no willpower and have spent more money on Lego even though after a visit to the store/Amazon order/3 BL orders I was adamant I would buy no more Lego this week...
But [email protected] offers EUR10 off when spending EUR40 or more so how could I ignore that!?

Lack of willpower has one advantage: now that I have ordered #71006 Simpsons House, I have one set less I have to worry about whether it will retire before I have a chance to buy it...
Still obsessing over #71016 Kwik-E-Mart, #76042 SHIELD Helicarrier and #75095 TIE Fighter. My wife has expressed an interest in #10234 SOH now that she has seen it in the flesh, so should probably add it to that worry-list.
  • josekaleljosekalel Member Posts: 683
@stlux I know what you mean, I had no willpower and ended up getting a couple of sets...no self control...still hoping to save to get #71006

Decided to army build with medieval CMFs (S15 Frightening Knight and S16 Rogue), so I organized my Castle stuff. Got a S15 Queen. Finally built the retro promo from months ago. Inventoried everything, sorted by good/bad guys. I've got a mishmash from different Castle iterations, one reason army building was attractive.

Placed a BrickLink order, first one in ages (as a seller, I usually get what I want personally when looking for store inventory). Cheap Frightening Knight, usually singles aren't enough below retail to bother. Got a few pieces for MOCs and a bunch of bricks for my collection of common shapes by color. That was 1x1/1x2/2x2/2x3/2x4, now also 1x3/1x4/1x6/1x8/2x6/2x8.

Local supermarket had most of a box of S15 left, got 4 Frightening Knight. Took awhile, the packet weighs 11.33g but I had written that down as 13.33. Also, one was missing the mace staff, I couldn't find it in the bag or near where I opened. No big deal, pulled a *light* bley bar 3L out of my spares, for a bigger part I would have contacted lego customer service by now. Target was out of S16 and WalMart hasn't put out any more in a couple weeks.
Sold a $.7 part. Thing is, shipping to India costs over $15. And the buyer payed!
Been there done that. Heck, just sold 28 1c parts to a Brazilian, S&H $14.83. Sometimes buyers back out after invoice - some of those tell me and some ignore me and get NPB'ed. I put starting shipping rates in my terms and policy pages and hope that helps.

I also have trouble looking for particular figs when I start with a series, so I feel the pain. Practice makes perfect but also costs a few dollars a lesson.

"finished" cleaning/organizing the (little) apartment. Sad realization that I have to slow down my growing LEGO collection for lack of space :-(

Step 1: Throw away the boxes.

Step 2: Cut down on City sets... like not buying anything until the next wave of trains hit the shelves. Stick to Star Wars and LEGO exclusive sets (e.g. Creator Expert).

Step 3: Move to a state where I can actually afford a decent house.

    So sad.

Out shopping and saw some Disney minifigs being sold off for £1.50 in sainsburys. Didn't get any as I was afraid I might get Mickey, Minnie or Donald who personally I just find creepy. Not sure why. I think it may be their voices.

I've been stalking my nearest big department store for series 16 the last week waiting for them to appear on the shelf.
What I thought was no luck again today so I spent some time and sifted through their leftover S15 and found the indian with baby that I've been trying to find.
Went to pay and realised their S16 boxes are on the counter near the register so started sifting there when a staff member came up and asked if there was anything specific I was looking for.
Then spent the next half hour chatting and going through feeling bags with her to find all the ones I wanted.
Went back to work and found my Lone Ranger Comanche Camp purchase had arrived from ebay.

All in all if was a great day.

so. update on my lego life. :)

    have 2 set's on order.
1 from Argos that i should get tomorrow, #75147 that i payed £15.99 for.
and one from amazon #70593 that i payed £26.99 for and hope to get in the next 2 days.

last night, i rebuilt #42042 in to it's 2nd build. witch i think i like better then the main build. and i think i will keep it in it's 2nd build.

over the past week, i have been building each of the #10695 mini builds and only have 1 mini build left to build.

over the last month when i found the the odd free time here and there. i built in mirror #10218 the town house part. giving me 3 copys of this build 1 normal, 2 Mirror.

i am still looking in to the train theme. but with amazon never having any dam stock when i go to look at that theme on there. i could not use my amazon gift card to buy one.

oh and my finger is back to normal :p

That's not particularly unusual with Technic - the primary model has to look good on the box; the secondary can have better or more unusual functionality.

Had a busy few days. More people have signed up to display at my event, the local newspaper have put an article online about it and we have a photographer coming on Friday to take pics of us and some sets for the print version. Got some frantic building to do!
