Thanks for all the kind words guys. Surviving on profen, paracetamol and codeine at the minute. My wife keeps asking for bowel movement updates, but I'll assume you lot don't want any! Hope other people's ailments get better soon.
If we have to put up with TigerMoths bowel movement updates, we can probably put up with yours ;)

^ Which set is that? I can tell it's Ninjago, the Chen season, but not sure which exact set. Condrai chopper?
Good guess! :) But it's #70747, Boulder Blaster. Couldn't resist the sale last month. :D

Couldn't resist too many things Lego (and one infamous Lepin GG) in recent weeks, so feeling a bit "stuffed" right now. (No related bowel movements though, thankfully).

Yesterday I was at our local Lego store with the wife and kids for the September monthly Mini-build as well as our first buy of CMF 16 figs. Must commend my wife on her ability too feel out figures, as she got four out of five right without ever having had any experience with this before. (Ice Queen, Wildlife Photographer, Mariachi, Babysitter. Spooky boy was the only "failure"). Also got us a few more Series 8 Mixels before they sell out.

Today, the Kwik-E-Mart I ordered from TRU a month ago finally arrived, plus a bargain LL924 via ebay. And a Bricklink haul with some more MISB sets at bargain prices is on the way (7958, 8639, 10223, 8075 plus some Simpsons CMFs and a few Polybags). Lastly, two Pick-a-brick and Bricks&Pieces orders are also on their way.

Add to that the fact that several other MISB sets are waiting to be built (Technic sets mainly), I think you get my drift that my Lego status today can be described as

"Oooff. Need to get a life"

    ;-))

Lego building combined with a supplement my Dr gave me for diabetics with peripheral neuropathy made my recovery much faster than anticipated, there was a good chance that I would never gain full function of my hand again.
alas while my neuropathy doesnt affect my hands while Lego building the sitting/leaning over sets it off in my legs :( as there is no current cause it cant be treated.

    good news!

my finger is back to 94%
    i can bend it.
i can pick stuff up with it (+ thumb's help)
i can pinch thumb and finger.
i can just about make a fist.
still can not touch the tip of the finger to the base of the finger or the parm.
but i can get to 3 mm away from it.

so apart from my old headphones dying on me. and having to buy new ones.
(some think called "Metro Bluetooth Headphones" that can be wired and wireless.)
i am in a good mood. i think i will give my finger 24 or so more house then i can relax and use it can with out me thinking it going to backside and F-up again.

    Status today: 'Riding my luck'
Following a successful Ninjango Temple purchase at Smyths for £116, I managed to get a Sand Crawler at TRU for £200.

When the box came out it had a large cut / rip / tear in one side - a bit of a chat to the nice lady behind the customer service desk and she took 10% off the purchase price to bring the cost down to £180!

With some finger crossing this evening, the seals were cut to find all the bags present and correct, happy days :-) I almost can't wait for Winter...

Reminds me of the 80's movie "Night Patrol" when the waiter had his thumb in the guys soup and he explains that he has to keep it warm. It was previously up his arse ;)

Inhalation would be a sinus issue - and as 'luck' would have it, I've got nasal polyps and a sinus infection that should have an operation on before the end of the year. I'll let you know if any bricks drop out, but if I'm honest, the CT scan didn't show anything square shaped. Sorry.

And before you ask, the colonoscopy was also free of any branded plastic bricks. And that's a definite, because I couldn't drag my eyes off the monitor as it was being done! Yes, I'm aware that the consultant had 'access' earlier this week, but believe me when I say that it wouldn't still be up there by now!

Hope all our American friends are OK with hurricane hermine rolling over. The wife is visiting NYC on the 6th Sept just as it is meant to be hitting that area, so we are keeping a close eye on the storm.

@bendybadger  My backyard IS the ocean, there is average flooding right now. The wind is worse than anticipated, my house feels like a boat, the movement is mostly because it sits on stilts.

I'll keep my 15 feet of snow and the occassional ice storm.  The prospect of the ocean trying to claim my house, or 85+ mph trying to blow my house in the ocean - no thanks!

Right now I would need a canoe to get to the street 200yds away. At least I have power, my gf lives less than 2 miles from me and she lost power at 5am, but she is out of the flood zone.

@SamJ for the last I thought the storm was called Hurricane Hermes.

You're absolutely right, I'll get it tomorrow! :-)

    :-P ;-)

I'm actually wondering what to do with the Ferris Wheel, long-term, as it has a significant footprint and takes up a quarter of one of the desks... I'm definitely not going to do anything drastic for a while, as it's one of those sets that I really don't fancy dismantling, plus it's a great display piece, of course.

Checked LEGO section at supermarket. Employee was reorganizing it to make room for new sets. Some old sets were at slight discount; she wasn't sure if and when they'd come down further. I got 3 #75132 First Order Battle Pack for $9.99 each, and a CMF S15 Queen for my Castle collection. I might get Frightening Knight for army building; I'll bring my scale to weigh packs next trip.

Started dismantling the 3 sets I currently have out on display so I have space to build something else and actually felt bad pulling Wall-e's head off.
Done that last year when trying to squeeze Wall-E into below drawer. The body is intact though, just the head separated :))
I often partially disable sets for compactness in storage.

That's odd because it would mean both are missing - there's one that's used and one that's a spare. Something like that you'd expect to find in the corner of a bag, but both of them...?
This makes me suspect error on our part, as one was certainly present and correct. I'd guess we mistook it for another single stud the instructions called for...
It's often hard to determine color in LEGO instruction books.

Very Lego-related weekend, building the maze, husband building the technical advice and sub the nexo-fortress. Also discovered the nexo-knights game and having fun to look around for shields.

Then, what do you have to cover schoolbooks and you only have boring green thin present-Wrapping paper and the shops are shut because you did too many fun Lego related things as stated above?

You use Lego-stickers to let your son decorate his books towards his own taste and cover it with sticky film to improve stability....

This set is stunning. It is going in one of my top 5 builds and display pieces. I have been eyeballing it for over a year, and was pleasantly surprised to find it in my lot, 100% intact. It will bring me many hours of joy just looking at it.

Definitely a good set to find in a random lot sale!

This looks to be set 10213, when I bought mine last year, the seller included the service pack, not sure yours have or not.

I wonder why the age varies by two years - also the piece count. Maybe they redesigned part of it and the resulting change of building technique pushed the difficulty up or down?

This should help.  Not sure it explains the jump in age but certainly the piece count.  :)

I think LEGO probably got a lot of complaints "my 14 y/o could not build this set..." and LEGO decided to bump it up to 16.

The new one is more suitable as a toy, rather than just a model, because swooshing is less catastrophic.

Other way around actually. LEGO designed #10213 as a display piece for ages 16+, but received a lot of calls about kids (and, let's not kid ourselves, probably some adults too) being disappointed that the liquid fuel tank was structurally unfit for swooshing. They sent out a service pack to people who had bought the original, then released a new version of the set as #10231 that included the redesigned liquid fuel tank and other stability-related changes. Because of the sturdier and more playable design, they were able to recommend the new version to a younger audience.
