I'm short on red 2x3's for my US flag mosaic. When going through some red pieces, I decided to use other bricks that add up to the same shape. That doesn't finish the project, but brings me much closer. Seems fitting for the holiday.

Making grand progress putting a garage sale lot on BL.

I enjoy buttery garlic coffee- just run a Papa John's sauce cup through a Keurig, serve, and enjoy.
I thought I read this wrong.  But I didn't.  Awesome.

It's Lego, just think of them as customizations. Was one of the wing mounted a stud too far forward or backward on that same ship?

^ It was actually the inboard 2x3 plates that cover the Technic lift arms and the SNOT 2x2 section at the back of one wing that was one stud too far back. It was really obvious on the displayed model, especially as the other wing was correct!

Morning started off great. Made good progress sorting through 40 pounds of Bionicle parts. Then when I look up, somebody is lopping branches off of a pine tree in my front yard.

    I just can't win.

Useless piece of LEGO SW trivia for the day: I discovered yesterday that (surprisingly) the wingspan of #75094 Imperial Shuttle Tydirium  in flight configuration is identical to #10240 Red Five X-Wing Starfighter with S-foils in attack position...

Finally getting round to the horrible process of dismantling sets.
Already taken down #75082 Tie Advanced Prototype and have made a start on #75059 Sandcrawler.

I both hate and love doing that... On the one side, it's tedious work, but on the flip side, I love neatly sorting all those bricks into their correct places in my storage containers.
That said, I've not got a clue how I'd sort my modulars at the moment. I've not got enough storage space for them, even if I wanted to dismantle them. They look much better on my shelf anyway. :-)

Oh, it's the 1st June, so I'm off to the Stratford LEGO Store at lunchtime today to pick up a couple of the new sets and, hopefully, the new freebie poly. Can't wait! :-)

and "Nexo Knights The Black Knight Mech #70326 "
is being sold by TRU. so, of-course, as it is Exclusive to TRU in the uk. TRU have slapped a £10 mark up on RRP on it. that will in next to no time drop to RRP. and then stay at that price claiming to be on sale. when it is NOT!.

therefor i am rethinking what i going to buy today from [email protected]
it will be well over a year before TRU place this on sale. (a real sale, as in "under" RRP.)
as it is nexo knights i not willing to wait that long. so right now i am trying to work out if i can get this set today. or if not when to plan to get said set.

oh and to add to the fun. [email protected] has yet to unlock the new set's for sale.

Anxious to get out of work to get #40221 Fountain. There is another LEGO Store 25 min drive from the office, but I have a meeting at 1:30 PM and don't want risk arriving late. The store on the way home will have to do later today. *sigh*

Ordered raptor rampage (I was hoping to find that on sale at some point but it doesn't seem to happen and I wouldn't want to miss it), I really wanted that fountain, so that gave me an excuse ;)

quickest response time ever, ordered at 11, got an email it was sent at 16! That's never happened before on [email protected] for me. Great!

Well, I don't think I can put this on the "what are you buying right now?" thread, but must share it somewhere.

A while ago, I was commenting on the General Marvel thread and bemoaning the fact that I hadn't had the foresight to buy #6869 http://brickset.com/sets/6869-1/Quinjet-Aerial-Battle when it was around.

Well, my wife must've looked at my wanted list since then, as she gave me this when I came home today:

BNISBB (Brand New In Slightly Battered Box). I now have all the Quinjets I want! Well, except for that polybag, but that's far easier to get!

Now I just need to find time to build the darned thing!

the more i look at "Volcano Explorers." set's the more i think i would like to own them. it is £268.94 RRP for all of the theme. with 3,013 Lego parts. over 6 set's, with 1 polybag freebie, that brickset page said is the july freebie. with a 11.1p a part Price at full RRP for all 6 set's, that's not to bad. (if you look at the way lego price have been trending in the last 9 months. + all the BIG part's in this theme.)
that's not going to stop me trying to get that killer deal for them. :)
down side is that with them added on to my other summer set's + the other set's that are still out that i wish to have but dont own yet. i think i could push £1500 of lego in my wishlist with out trying.
i am going to have to work out a plan.
i fear that i will miss out on some set's. rats.

I think eBay must have learned how much I spent at the Watford LEGO Store yesterday, because I am struggling to check out with a shopping basket there. Must be something to do with me trying to redeem that voucher I got last night. Fine, if it doesn't want my money, it won't get my money!

On the plus side, I do now have a nice little backlog of sets built up - I don't think I've ever had a backlog before! It includes the Technic Porsche - I decided the gearbox issues don't really bother me especially when for me it's a display model first, a car model I can ram Bionicle sets into the seats and pretend they are wealthy millionaires second, and a building experience third. I mean, I might fiddle with the gearbox function once it's built but then I probably won't touch it again for a year :o)

@Jenni I visited the UK Lego site and saw how many carnival themed stuff Friends had. Bummer that it won't be part of your set up for a show. Also, what show? =o

TNVLC Brickapalooza in Huntsville AL, but we'll have them for our first Nashville show in October. Which is good as we have a lot of space to fill. Never fear, one of the Nashville members who appeared in December with a few incredibly accurate 80s TV cars has now turned his attention that way and has figured out swinging chairs, including the lift feature, and fairly random bumper cars. If you're in the neighborhood....

^ Where did she get it?

Amazon. I nearly asked her how much she paid, but (a) it would've killed the moment, and (b) why invite that kind of mental torture over what she could've got it for on Bricklink? She DID say that it was cheaper because of the box (which she knows I don't worry that much about, as long as I have one) so I'll be content with that.

Very happy with my eBay purchase of #5862 that came today. It was very nearly complete and all the cool little accessories were there and also as a bonus an almost complete #5861 was included too!! All for just £14.

And the very best bit was that I showed the horrible dolls and baby to a colleague at work and she thought they were cute(?!) so she has taken them off my hands! Result!

She did say the baby's face reminded her of Denise Welch from Benidorm though :-)

^ I either give the dolls away,  sell as a cheap bundle on eBay or bin them, if they have broken limbs.  The parts they don't make any more are worth having to look at the dolls. I might post a pic later of some of my favourite Belville parts.
I do now have quite a few huge raised baseplates too though.

My status is trying to convince the wife to let me spend $75 to get the #40221 fountain. I think it would look great in the town set up. I was planning on getting the fun in the park set as well as the parts needed to motorize the Ferris Wheel anyway so this seems like as good a time as any.

Well this is worrying ...... Here I am collecting lego only for the sake of my grandson ..... I am on a short break near Ludlow in the caravan so we had "heat up in the oven" Chinese meal from Tesco tonight.  Now washing up the containers and thinking ..... "These are good for storing lego because each box has a double compartment so that means I can separate the bricks out." Somebody shoot me now ......

Glad the Rocket Raccoon polybag can still be had for about $10. The Milano is coming back together smoothly. Gamora and Drax are kinda tricky cause of the Chinese contract. I want the real deal not the economic ones. Speaking of Guardians, I hope Kurt Russell is playing Adam Warlock and I hope Pip and Moon dragon make the cut. The infinity watch was a damn good comic....

well after opening a chat with Yodel do i get updated info on my order. it like you have to remind them you have a item with them to get them to deliver it.

  • TheOneVeyronianTheOneVeyronian Member Posts: 1,372
Status: frustrated! So it turns out the problem with me not being able to check out with items in eBay amounted to the fact I was trying to use a voucher code on a multi-item, multi-seller order (shouldn't be a problem, all the voucher says is to pay for all items in basket at the same time which I was doing), something which I suspected was the cause of my order not going through properly but eBay customer service wouldn't listen to me and kept insisting it was Paypal causing the error. Tried to place the order without voucher code and lo and behold, eBay suddenly wanted my money!

Is there any way of getting eBay to refund the value of the voucher given I tried to apply it to the single order at least 10 times, including a few times with the customer service rep's assistance, and order failed to go through every single time? Sounds like the 20% off discount fiasco not too long ago that I heard so much about but didn't partake in.

The lesson for today: eBay voucher codes - just say no. Half the time the discount isn't worth the hassle!

    Just got my #31026 .
    Box has seen better days.
the box seals was showing that it had been opened.
hard to tell if the seals was from some one pulling them off. or just from age and changes in heat levels.
after watching a un-boxing video it is all there. thank god.
but i can tell it been kicking around the Argos stores for some time.
happy i got the set. yes. wish the box was better Yes.
can i live with it, yes.
