if you could get "Star Wars #75103 First Order Transporter" for £49.99
but was not a big fan of the model would you get it?
At that kind of discount, I'd buy it to resell, likely part out on BrickLink.

Speaking of BL, I raised my prices a bit, though they're still cheap. Now I'm matching US new price for that color, instead of worldwide, used, and/or other colors.

Discovered yesterday that part #11010 can be used to attach two bricks or plates with the studs facing each other. At first I thought it was a non-LEGO part mixed in, but I spotted a couple of them in a picture snowhitie posted http://bricksetforum.com/discussion/23283/what-do-you-do-with-your-spare-parts#latest and went searching. Not sure what I might use it for, but I recall people wishing for "anti-stud to anti-stud" in another thread, and seems like this part fulfills that wish.

still hoping for a price drop on amazon for some set's but the main one is #75904
Argos have it at £49.99 i price i am willing to pay for it but my local 15 are out of stock. i not going to pay £64.99 for it. hell i would get more money back getting it from shop@home. +free gift.
and any price drop on #75104 would be nice.
    wish i had a £10 off code to use. but i don't.

    my status:
    did my backlog (#2505, #7641, ...) . now i just need to:
resort inventory and make new sorting system (ETA 1 week).
snot box, slope box and tile box inc

    still not owning #10288, #10211, #10244, #10247 ...
how long will mixer and ferris wheel be in lego shop? which one is going to retire first? will i feel the urge to get grand caroussel if i get ferris and mixer, like i do with the modulars now? will #10211 get more expensive if i dont get it now?
starting to believe dat haunted house's price will make me insane if i dont get it now!!!

  • chrisalddinchrisalddin Member Posts: 3,041
i am at a bit of a loss.
there are 16 or there about set's i wish to get.
all 16 are about the same want level.
depending on the price of the set. i can get 3 to 6 of them right now.
i can not make up my mind.
and i am running out of ideas on how i can eliminate sets to cut down my list.
so my lego status is crunching numbers, and getting no ware fast.

Well my Legos have arrived from Poland to the USA. Over 150 sets in one huge tub. Time to sort and then clean. Then build and create a list of missing pieces. Then we order. Ohh man this is gonna take some time

Just noticed in the Top Gear trailer that The Stig has got the minifigure of himself (removed from the key chain) stood on his dashboard :-)
Wonder if there'll be another promo for the new series? Think I've still got a couple of key chains tucked away somewhere - I really should find those!
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
They still do the minifig free with £1 for 5 issues. I suspect they ordered far too many after the initial craziness.
  • VenunderVenunder Member Posts: 2,668
^It will not be TOP GEAR without Clarkson, May and Hammond.
So I'm not really interested in a promo from it.
  • plasmodiumplasmodium Member Posts: 1,956
So many people just writing it off because it doesn't have the "original" presenters. Sure, it won't be the same (that's why Amazon bought them), but no one even seems to be willing to give 'different' a chance.
  • cheshirecatcheshirecat Member Posts: 5,331
I am, and to be honest the last couple of series were pretty tired, certainly past their prime. Especially noticeable when watching reruns on dave!

    on cloud9.
sold #8106 aero booster. never thought it would happen!
it just took to much display space! build was fun. minifig was cool. but i wont be missing this set. somehow was a "fail-buy" for 20€ . sold it for 18€. stickers peeling off and splittering. i think i did good. got this set when coming out of my dark age. i bought everything i could get at that time!
  • VenunderVenunder Member Posts: 2,668
I might watch it to give it a go.
I agree it was past it's prime, but where do you go after 13 years of exploding caravans and wacky driving challenges?

The BBC should really call it something else, if they want to refresh it.
    Driving with Friends ?
    Chris Evans Burns Rubber?

To me, it is not Top Gear without May, Hammond and Clarckson.
I guess Lego is Lego though, so enjoy your promos. :)

The living room is unnaturally Lego-free after we did a big tidy-up/clean ahead of my partner's brother coming to visit next week. I'm frustrated because between that and getting a couple of rooms ready (which, don't get me wrong, we've been waiting nearly two years to achieve, so it's great news), I don't see myself having time to enter the Autobuildography contest in the way I originally planned. I am, however, planning to use a day when our guest is out hiking to build an alternative, or maybe even crack open the Palace Cinema and do some initial sorting of parts pre-build. I need my Lego fix, guys.

The predictions thread has now got so vast that the off topic ravings have spread into many other threads, I think it now has a life of it's own.

As for my status, mildly vexed.
Had planned to start building my bricklinked #10143 after spending ages sorting through my boxes of parts to get it all together, but have been informed that members of the family are visiting shortly and have been told to put it on hold as a huge box of zip locked bags in the middle of the front room whilst we are entertaining will not go down very well.

Now trying to decide which set from the backlog to build that won't take too long or take up too much space, but after all that sorting and the anticipation of building the Death Star none of them seem to fit the bill.

    today,
i think i am starting to get a better feel of what i wish to buy and when.
unless i change  my plans again. look's like Scooby Doo and spaceport themes are going back on the back burner. (the i wish i had the money list.)
oh i will get 1 Scooby Doo set #75902. and try to get #75904 or the mini fig's from it.
but the other set's in the theme, as much as i would love to own them, i can not own all the set's i wish to have. the list is just to Big.

    now. what to do,
build a set? or do other non-Lego stuff?

partition the HDD, so that you can install a 2nd OS,
the 1st OS is for Work, and when you boot into that one it will look like a work computer and that is all.
the 2nd OS will have all the stuff that you not Ment to have on a Work PC.

Depends on how locked down the build is. If the laptop has pre-boot encryption then that's not going to work. There are other hurdles too. Could always swap out the HD with another one, but that's a lot of fuss!

Might be getting slightly OT now though, so I'll leave it there... :-)

Everyone knows IT people take the Hippocritical Oath to never help other people circumvent security measures. ;)

Most laptops have 2 sata ports. Swap out your CD drive for a 2nd HDD. If not, many modern laptops have unused M.2/mini PCI-e slots which could be used for a discrete boot SSD. Of course, all of this relies on there not being a BIOS password, but you can usually reset those by removing the CMOS battery or shorting a specific pin on the motherboard.

Of course, having said that, installing unauthorised software is usually a dismissable offence in most contracts....

there should be a portable version of LDD including all the updated parts somewhere in the internetz.
i installed this on my work pc, because proxy was blocking normal LDD to update itself!

i dug this out on another forum (not finding the link, sry). parts update is from summer 2015. this also only works if you are local admin on your workstation and allowed to install software!
