TRU has a promotion this month to win a $250 giftcard for writing a review of something bought form them, check your email.

Disappointed that I didn't get #75059 finished before going back to the daily grind tomorrow, have only got bags 15 & 16 to do. May try and get it finished during the week but it will probably have to wait until next weekend.
  • legomentallegomental Member Posts: 370
We did a bag of one of the jurassic world sets before school this morning and if we can remember to do spellings and this week's homework tonight we might get it finished before bed. My eldest is dinosaur addicted.

Other than that I can't see there being much lego time this week. It's end of financial year month so the panic is on especially with Easter being early.

We are off to Legoland Windsor at the weekend though for their 20th anniversary celebration

    ^^ How heavy are they?
They shouldn't really hurt that much, as you aren't stepping on any pointy corners, but the studs can't be comfortable...

The things I get people to do.......

If you're not aware, today is World Down Syndrome Day, one of the awareness aspects is to post pictures of you in crazy socks. Built at very short notice by @ame_uwagi and yes they are Roberts legs!

Been an up and down Lego few days. Realised I need to get cracking on with my comicon display so started making some vehicles from the boys Lego dump boxes. Managed to get to step 9 of the fire engine before giving up! On the plus side did find some missing superhero minifig heads. Thankfully I found a good stash of city vehicles in my secret Lego cupboard so should be ok. Also negotiations regarding the GOTG attending didn't even get off the starting blocks so Ghostbusters will be doing some rooftop ghostbusting instead. Still struggling for an enemy focal point,so much hero v hero might be a bit too much

Wishing my payday was tomorrow, so that I might get some more 3 for 2 Lego from Tesco. :(
But happy to have got some. :)

Got to look on the bright side. It means more money for TRU Lego with promo gift cards at the end of the week. :)

wishing i had more money here.
on the + side my x2 VIP points order number 4, should be with me tomorrow.

the only set's i have left to get that are "hard to find" set's. (that are not part of my dream "if only" wish list.) are Detective Office, Brick Bank, and GBHQ.
all other sets on my list right now are sets that i think will drop in price. and i am just waiting to "A" have the money and "B" see it at a good price.

oh and to give you a idea, Tower Bridge, Sydney Opera House, Slave 1, Sandcrawler, SHIELD Helicarrier, and #75105 Millennium Falcon (who i don't need as i own the last Falcon.)
are all on my Dream "if only" wish list. (that is "if only" i has the Money!)

Should I be ashamed that I've had to negotiate trades with each of my kids?

negotiate trades? nope, for that you should be proud of your self.
after all you did not try to pinch a part and get court with your hand in the lego box.
you did the grown up thing and negotiated a trade for the part you needed!

I did break down some of my girl's Friends sets into my parts drawers. No big deal to her though as she can always get the parts from the drawers to build whatever she likes :-)

Found my Animal Control Officer with a severed head in her net: it's the other pilot from my X-Wing set! Also, there is now a guy walking up a wall with "suckers" on his feet in the X-Wing tray. This is what happens when I'm too tired to build and my partner takes over. He also found the legs for my March contest entry and made them into another pair of giant legs for Luke, so I'm sensing that we might have an MOC theme developing here...

Just dusted my LEGO collection. Am I the only one who finds it somewhat therapeutic?

Perhaps it's just the tactile nature of using an SLR cleaning kit, or perhaps it's just the fact that it doesn't get that dusty now it's on deep shelves.

My purchase fit in a regular size plastic bag which fit in my backpack. I also have a milk crate on the back of the bike, and I can put bags over the handlebars. I'm quite experienced at using it for cargo. :)

That's one thing that I don't enjoy: Breaking down sets... Very tedious... I did that last night for my Temple of Airjitsu and WV market and it took almost as long as building them... Well, it certainly seemed that way.

On the plus side, I rearranged my collection in its storage a little and managed to clear some space! :-)

    Got an Amazon order today.
Pop Star Tour Bus from Warehouse Deals. Damaged box, but looks like just nicked corners. Largest set I ever bought, looking forward to it. Only missing Livi's House for my Pop Star collection.
Also got Ultimate Aaron. Combined that and Macy into my Dacey Mormont MOC.
Put the parts I didn't use on Bricklink, many unique pieces that should do well.

some bricklink users reuse the bag's from set's when shipping out BL orders.

I found #7961 Darth Maul's Sith Infiltrator when looking for deposit containers. It has nearly everything except the minifigures. Some of the bags were sealed. Bricklinked the parts.

It seems hard to open up set bags cleanly enough to reuse them. I do reuse bubblemailers.

the plans or the Pet Shop Moc, (that i up to now i have only had in my head.) are now start to take form on LDD, i had 2 ideas in my head.
plan 1, turn it in to 3 flats with one way down to ground level,
plan 2, have one big open floor plan room.
    but i am going with.
plan 3, has parts of 1 and 2,

i going with plan 3.4 right now. lol.
i had to change "plan 3" 4 times, (why i added the ".4")
it will have 3 bedroom or 2 bedroom and 1 bathroom with a living room and kitchen . as well as a under-stares cupboard. (if i go with the 3 bedroom idea then there is a chamber pot under the bed's :),

still have a lot of planning to do, the ground level pet shop for 1. now i only need 1 stares from ground level. i can use the ones in my lego store build, and there for i can link all 3 flats over the shops in to one big flat. and have one big open space pet shop. with a little lego store on the right hand side of the block.

    it should be good, :P
