I'm still combing the forums, but less and less catches my eye. I think some time out from buying and building might do me some good. Perhaps some selling to downsize might be a good idea and get me a bit more focused on certain themes.
After your lovely classic space MOC I'd be really sad if you gave up LEGO altogether. MOCing is a great way to cut down on your loose piece inventory. This is my primary motivation most days :).
But as a prior beneficiary of your downsizing I'll be happy to tell myself that it helps you focus :).
(Which, until I joined Brickset, I had no idea existed.)
And had some fun opening Series 15 blind packs. Only one Shark Guy and three Spacemen, but very happy nonetheless...
I know it's Deadpool's month, but this guy is awesome too.
Starting on one with 5x5 stars - have a couple 48x48 baseplates but will need to get more of those later.
Put some damaged parts on BrickLink.
I think we AFOLs should realize we are blessed. Enjoy what you have, what we have. Don't always crave for more. We are lucky to be able to even play with Legos, instead of having to worry about enough water to drink or enough food to eat.
Count your blessings, fellows.
And sleep tight :)
I've heard about missing parts, but that could happen with any dishonest returns that are resold.
Some others who bought other sets like the Helm's Deep were missing all the minifigures, though they already expected that and still bought it (at very low price) just for the grey bricks in the set.
In the meantime playing around with different layouts for my recently acquired train LEGO sets; bought all current three sets + train station these past 2 weeks on sale, Amazon points, and Bing rewards :)
I have no room for them, so it's foam tiles on the carpet in the middle of the living room for now.
i say over as i am willing to bet i have stuff not listed.
and i bet that is peanuts next to the numbers some of you have.
after double points, it will slow down for a time.
i also have almost run out of stuff to sell off to raise cash with.
but after double points time. i should have all lego set's sold by lego [email protected] that have been out for sometime and are at risk. there are some set's i like to have but will probably not end up getting down to cost of set, Lack of room to do the set justest. or the loss of interest in the set. (or in the case of Scooby Doo theme getting pushed down the list by summer wave of Nexo Knights.)
(this next bit was hard for me to put in to words so sorry if you can not follow what i am getting at here.)
down to lack of room it looks like i going to have to get 2x Palace Cinema, and mod them to a corner that turns so i can put it in the corner of my table. its all well and good making a looping street block. but my table is next to two walls. the Moc will let me display the set with a 'L' shape with the buildings facing in and not facing out like the corners are done by lego.
now just wish you could buy road base plates in ones not set's of 2 i only need 1 turn, and no cross roads. and alot of straight road.
I can understand why they might want to sell road baseplates in sets of 2, but why on earth would I want 1 crossroad for every straight??? 1 t-junction for every curve? Sell straights as a pack of 2, crossroads and t-junctions together and a set of curves in a 2 pack... OK, they'll sell far more straights, but the current way is just robbery...
You could always build a curb over two of the cross roads to make layby's for the hot dog stands coming out.
However, if I want to make an oval, of let's say 4 curves and 4 straights, which is a fairly obvious thing to do, I'm going to end up with 4 t-junctions and 4 crossroads as well... even if I buy just 2 packs of straight + crossroad, I'm going to end up with a lot of lay-bys in my setup... ;-)
I've seen it done on many occasions with t-junctions, which don't look bad at all. Not sure about crossroads though.
With the amount of sausages floating about on this site you can never have enough lay-bys. ;)
@chrisalddin
The last pictures of this being done to good effect (admittedly with t junctions) were on page 137 of this very thread by @Speedman29
Figuring out what pieces I need to finish and setting them aside if I have them.
Found some old logo bricks, some worn LEGO, and a couple knockoffs. (I often end up organizing the piece stockpiles involved in a project)
Though I'm pretty sure a lot of AFOLs don't have time to enter the brick numbers into Rebrickable, so in reality my ranking will probably get pushed back into the hundreds if not thousands.
My original aim is to achieve 1 million bricks owned, but with the current state looks like quite difficult as I'm running out of space, and funds too :(
if i did do a airport there be no room for my street. or room for me to build new stuff.
i can see a airport tacking all of my table.
now i need to work out how to do the inside.
then i can Move on to the 2nd level.
also today i am buying yet more lego :) ok so this time the spend out was only £6.21 :p
shopped around on BL, already buying from one store, not enough pieces cheap enough to buy from other stores
Finished the planning for my flag mosaic, missing very few pieces besides the baseplates
