After watching Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) I have decided to propose another huge project to the 2016 list and recreate the Starkiller Base in the scale of both '10188 - Death Star' and '10143 - Death Star II.' My goal with this MOC is to incorporate the playset style of '10188' and the model aesthetics of '10143.' The problem I face is the stability and structure to hold the model whilst incorporating enough space for the playset angle of the concept.

I have come up with a quick concept and design of how it would presented and what rooms will be featured. From my single screening I don't have much to fall back on so I would need to re-watch the movie at one point or wait until the home release of the movie to get a better grasp of the small details.

Fingers crossed the rumoured '75159' is based on redesigned Death Star's in the Original Trilogy and not the new Starkiller Base, otherwise I would be less intrigued to design it, given (if) it already exists. I've never owned either model and it would be nice to own something similar that is similar to these classic concepts that suits my taste.

I have to admit that I wasn't as blown away by the new Star Wars movie as I hoped. Great in places but overall disappointed! Is there a thread for discussions about the movie on here that others can avoid spoilers?

Found many of the new SW sets on Friday so have been building quite a few of those and squeezing them into non available shelf space.

I will have to force myself to breakdown many sets from last year to make space for new ones coming in soon. To motivate myself I won't allow any further building of new sets until the job is done.

Now to decide which sets are to be dusted and taken apart to be put away in their boxes.

I had to take some Lego boxes to be recycled today :( some family members think I have a hoarding problem, no just 4 young children that have a lot of stuff and forget to put away.

Ok I might have bit of a Lego problem but I have calmed down over the last few years so that really doesn't matter :)

Thus far, I have one Lego set recently completed yesterday. The six I've completed were donated to the thrift shop. The rest were donated to charity.

It's been open in cinemas here for less than a week, yet I already feel like the only person who hasn't seen The Force Awakens yet!

I think the problem must be that I spent all my money on the new TFA Constraction sets that were recently released, thus leaving nothing for a TFA movie ticket... but I don't regret it. Much.

Don't worry @TheOneVeyronian you are not the only person who hasn't seen it yet. I could name at least 3 other people on the planet that haven't. After all, to repeatedly smash box office records around the globe they need some of us to watch it some other time than the opening week, right? ;o)

Haven't posted much the last couple of weeks here, been busy and preoccupied with lots of things but not so much with Lego lately.
Any way I just saw SW-TFA. It is so nice to live around the corner of a movie theatre; no hustle and bustle. Walked up to the booth, bought a ticket, picked a good seat, and went to see it on this rainy Monday night.
I liked it a lot, it really is a blast!
Now, I want to go see it again.

^It's Monday, all bets are off when it comes to spoilers. There are people I know that have seen it 4 times already. I went opening night. Best shut down your internet until you have seen it ;)

Finally decided to completely organize my excess legos and enter them into a database, I predict that the total is at least 20,000. It seems like a daunting task....!

I have given up on that. There is no way I am going to add all my bricks in a database. I have even given up sorting them.

@Lego_Star, @TheOneVeyronian, personally I'd be waiting til its movie of the week on free-to-air tv, but my wife said to our little mister six that we'd go see it first & if we think it's ok, he can go see it... :(

The only way I can survive without building Legos is to watch people on YouTube build Legos. It can be a learning process while Christmas arrives and I might get Lego sets.

Legogal adds ...Hahaha! Shhhh....I know at least 15 people who have not seen it and probably won't....
(Glad that others enjoyed it even though it is not on my list. Many females couldn't care less.)
It is amazing what feet that franchise still has after all these years. It definitely is a marketers' dream! And it has kept TLG alive, fat and happy, which is good for most of us.

My godson's father, who happens to be a very close friend as well, and an almost-AFOL, bought me the DK Books "Great LEGO Sets - A Visual History" for Christmas, including the #11910 Micro-Scale Space Cruiser! Top chap! :-)

^Naw, but I'll get back to him, I could go for a CC or GG next year!

Sure, no problem, just give me a bag, five minutes in your LEGO room, and no questions asked when I exit and your in!

I am SO excited! We ordered Wall-E for me for Christmas, and we were starting to think he wouldn't make it in time. (It's 3:15pm Christmas eve here now) And then Knock knock knock, delivery. Talk about cutting it fine. I know what I'll be doing at midnight :)

Panic over! Wall-E is here. While the last of the presents for me arrived over a week ago, the presents for my wife have been another whole story. Been waiting for anywhere that stocks Funko Pop Vinyls to get Castiel with the black wings back in stock (got it yesterday, finally) & for the Wall-E set we ordered to arrive. Funny thing is, we ordered it the same time as the Doctor Who set for me.

Son chuffed with Ender Dragon, wife very pleased with Doctor Who. I think that I can put this down as a successful Xmas. Swedish relatives seem jealous of the Doctor Who set which I wasn't expecting. As an added bonus I managed to sell a couple of Xmas sets on Swedish ebay for prices that beat the UK site.

Pretty cool LEGO Christmas Eve. Last door of my SW and my daughters City advent calendars. Spent the morning building my secret Santa gift, 60092 the Deep Sea Explorers submarine. Went for a walk to the park in the sunshine to burn off some energy and came home to a jiffy bag from LEGO with my WALL-E replacement neck pieces so rebuilt that as well. Finally cleared a space in the street ready for when I open the Detectives Office tomorrow.

Picked up a couple used Pharaohs Quest sets (the Sphinx and the pyramid) for cheeeeap. Already cleaned up the pyramid, only missing the very basic parts.

This is giving me such fond memories of the old Adventurers theme.

    Merry Christmas All :-)

Today I don't expect any LEGO-related news regarding my collection, but my daughter might well be getting a few presents originating from Billund (and want some help building) ;-)

Got the Big Bang Theory set for Christmas, and I built it immediately. Lovely set, except for the fact that one of the pages of the instruction booklet was folder, and thus not cut properly. So now that I've unfolded it, I have one page jutting out of my manual grrrrr...

Got the Ecto 1 (which I've built) and the Kwik-E-Mart. My youngest got the Doctor Who set, which he started. Then he found it a bit repetitive and returned to the Xbox.  I fear his Dark Age is starting...

I got Dimensions so I built the portal but have not yet played the game.  I may do that with my son later today.  I did visit amazon.com already and got myself the portal and dr who expansions.

I also got the LEGO mug.  I am sure I was not the first person with the idea, but back when Cuusoo first launched, I scaled up an image of a LEGO mug and superimposed it on a picture of myself so it looked like I was holding it.  I then submitted the picture along with the idea of making a life-size mug but it was rejected because it was not a LEGO build.  Im happy they finally made one but I just wish it were a little bigger.
