    Took advantage of double points and finally picked up the Tumbler. Not started the build yet, it's sat looking imposing in its box on my display cabinet. Scary thing is that only leaves the helicarrier on my wishlist, argh!

    Today I'm wondering when and if the 75 other species of Lego birds which are apparently 'in the pipeline' will ever get released. Having just built the Birds set, I'm very excited by the idea, and am considering tracking down the designs somewhere.

    Mum mum just presented me with the only bits of my childhood left that she found, two crater baseplates! Very happy person now. The corner is chipped on one but I don't care, will pass them to the kids who will love them.

    @Si_UKNZ my wife saw Toms stand at bricktastic with, I think, the toucan and didn't stop talking about it. The birds set itself is fantastic and has probably been on display longer than any other lego set, apart from the DS.

    Someone had a very eventful Lego day yesterday. I over the following line from a dad in the playground this morning. "Calum got a bit of Lego stuck up his nose and he had to go to A&E to get it out". Makes me greatfull my 2 show no interest shoving things where they don't belong. It also makes me wonder how many Lego related injuries there are every year. I can see the Lego up the nose problem being a common one.

    I did that over the phone and in return was assured DHL, the more respectable arm of the company were delivering.  Couldn't explain however when I asked why Yodel was written on the label.

    Binged a bit the past month, but status is 'Complete':

    Completed the EU segment of SW minifigs with #75025 Jedi Cruiser from eBay arriving yesterday.

    Completed the Racers collection by finally getting #8156 Ferrari FXX, was surprisingly tough tracking a decent one down.

    Power Function parts for a motorized Wall-E came in along with the Holiday Train promo, but no Wall-E himself just yet.

    Now about to start on the Bat-Pod, quite excited for this one!

    Just ordered my first modular set from [email protected]: the Petshop.
    Now I want to collect all the other ones that are still available too. It all started when the restaurant was released last year. But I just kept putting it off, saying to myself 'you are not a city lego collector, so don't even think about getting a modular'. Now I just ordered the modular set which I think will retire first of the current bunch. Looking forward to receiving and building it.

    I'm planning to start down the modular route as well... Still haven't quite made my mind up whether I want to start with the Pet Store or Palace Cinema and have been viewing Jang's reviews of them all to try to help me decide.
    I really want to get the Parisian Restaurant and Detective's Office right now, but am trying to be sensible and get the older ones first.

    At lunch I decided to take the plunge on the Quinjet City chase on Amazon at £55.99 using my £25 gift card (quiz winnings!) so paying £30.99, which I was very happy with  until I saw about an hour ago it had gone down another fiver. Tried to cancel and reorder but it was already despatching so I couldn't.  Oh well, still a good bargain!

    @JudgeChuck
    My advice is, buy the modular first that is around longest, which at this moment is the Petshop. Of course feel free to ignore it and buy the one you like best, but this is what I have chosen to do.
    The next modular on my wishlist is Paradise Cinema, then Parisian Restaurant, which judging from pictures is my favourite one. After that I will purchase (a long time from now in the future) the latest one: the Detective's Office. And then finally I plan on buying the one to be released in 2016; the Brick Bank. But who knows, by that time there might already be another new one released, or my focus has shifted to other Lego sets.

    What I specifically like about the Petshop set is that it consists of two buildings, so once I buy the next modular, I can start splitting them up breaking up any possible monotony with regards to the width of all the other ones. What I also like about the brown family house is that it is somewhat bare inside, so you can mess about with the interior.
    Funny, like you, I watched Jang's video review of the Petshop earlier today, and it struck me that only one of the two houses has a toilet, and that neither has a real bathroom. I have no idea if there is space enough in those buildings to add such features, as well as other details to make it look more 'realistic'?! Maybe I will be happy with the two houses just as they are, but who knows, I might very well change the Petshop into a bike shop, a butcher shop, or whatever else I want to change, if I feel that urge to start tinkering with this set. Anyway I am happy with the modular set I chose.

    Success, and good luck deciding which, and in what order, you will go down the modular route!

    @xwingpilot ;
    Just bullseye that polybag as if it is a whomprat, and build that micro X-Wing. You did not buy the UCS either just to look at the sealed box.

    Just grap some scissors and carefully cut the packaging open along the seam at the top and keep the polybag if you like. Ultimately it is about the Lego inside the polybag not the bag. Or get a second sealed one, if keeping a polybag sealed is that important to you.

    @legonut80 -  wow congratulations! And, umm,  good luck! Are you going to need a bigger house?!

    Don't be too hasty with the Lego clearout! But if you have some nice sets in need of adopting by a good home,  you know who to ask ;-)

    @LostInTranslation thanks :) yes we do need a bigger house but have needed one for a while now, no chance of a Lego room, no wait that's the living room :)

    I'm really not good with parting with things so it will be a hard time, Phil said he would part with his crawler but I looked at him and said no :) for me it's what's in the wardrobe and drawers and in boxes on top of the wardrobe that I've not looked at for a few years.
