@shib bravo, that walk is harder than most people give it credit for!  I did it as a Scout Hike/Camp expedition way back in the mists of time and we were begging for short cut!  However Skip kept telling us its just one more hill boys!  It seemed to be an awful lot of 'just one more hills' until we got back to the ferry terminal!

What's more difficult? 66 miles along the coast or 1 mile through the streets of the west side of Detroit after 2AM ;)

So I'm on my annual trip back to Ohio with the kids and we always stop at the Lego store in Birmingham Alabama on our way up. I planned it so we would get here just as they open....and we are.....if they opened at 9 instead of 10.....lol...

Only five days until we move and I can finally unpack my Lego bricks. Building is one of the things that can help relax me the most during my breaks. Actually, I originally bought my first set hoping that it would have positive effects on my mental health, and it did.

I was listening to Pandora on the way to work this morning and "Who Made Who" by AC/DC came on. All of a sudden I started laughing because it sounded like they were singing "HUW Made HUW" The tune has been in my head all day. Damn you @HUW and your subliminal messages ;)

Sometimes BrickLink can be so frustrating, after the parts to make this...
Found all the parts, just no sellers selling more than two of the items I'm after and some of minimum purchase limits... ARGH!

Tired of phoning JL stores for a WVM and getting the same answer.
We sold the last one "last night" "this morning", "30 minutes ago".  :(

So I went out and got some Simpsons 2 cmf for £1.66 each. :)

It's currently 0300 and far too hot to sleep. The sun might be rising but it's time for some late night building

Picked up http://brickset.com/sets/358-1/Rocket-Base from the post office yesterday.

Now if I can finish my NEBOSH assignment and let my father show off his Granddaughter to his golf friends at lunchtime I might just get around to building it this evening!

@77ncaachamps, my LUG? Yeah, I'm in Adelaide, South Australia, the only LUG I've found any info for is Southern Bricks LUG & every attempt to contact them has resulted in nada & nothing... I've spoken to three other local fans who have tried to contact them, same results... So I'm on my own with this one.

There is a solution some where in there. Not to getting these parts, but going forward.

Just found out my local Lego store has red 5 back in stock and it's causing a problem! Basically no more Star Wars Lego after this week (don't ask) and was relieved it was oos as its been tempting me for ages. I know its not reduced but will be the last chance I can get one. I had planned on shuttle tiberium and a few smaller sets and not spend as much. Decisions, decisions!!

@VorpalRyu I think the subtext there was from the "3 other local fans." Meaning, if you're already in touch with a few local folks and don't have a LUG close by, there's a chance you could actually be in a position to start one in your area. That might make it easier to locally source parts for projects in the future.

@iccarus, we have a LUG, they just don't seem to be interested in having contact with anyone not already part of their little group. As for those three other fans, two I only spoke to at Brick-a-laide, the third was at a local shopping centre, I don't exactly have their details, so making further contact with them isn't likely...

@VorpalRyu fair enough. That seems really odd, regarding contact with the LUG. I'm a little shocked to not even see meeting info posted on their site. Have you tried joining their facebook group?

@iccarus, you can like the page, which I did, for two weeks, no contact even though I messaged them as well. I gave up in the end & unliked the page... Still no response. I also used the 'contact us' interface at the bottom of their site, again nada & nothing. I more recently tried to contact them again when I got my Lego Idea project off the ground, still waiting for any form of response...

The more talkative one of the two I spoke with at Brick-a-laide did say that after trying to contact them he tried starting a Castle/Pirates LUG. They apparently sent him an email 'suggesting' that he should instead join their LUG, so he tried contacting them again, with no response... Seems like they're a very 'clicky' group.

Well, issue solved, someone in another thread mentioned a site called Brick Owl, was able to get all the parts bar one from a seller on there, the part I had to get from BrickLink is cheap & in abundance there, so now waiting for the parts to arrive... :D

Feeling like Michael Keaton right this moment, I need an extra me or two... Now I have a working scanner, I need to scan all the instructions for my old sets (plus the exclusives) to convert to PDF. I have four big tubs of Lego to clean & sort again (all my old sets), thanks to certain children (not so much mine). I also have a few MOCs I want to get started on. I have a back log of sets building up I want to get built (all of the AoU sets are crying in their plastic prisons still).

    Life is tough.
I really need to take a bunch of sets apart, bag them up, and label the bags. Otherwise I no room to build and display any of my new MISB sets which are stacking up higher and higher.

We have finally moved to our new house. I haven't finished unpacking yet (or even cleaning, for that matter), but I have already started building. What can I say? I had a sudden urge to build the King's Carriage Ambush.

@TheBigLegoski - I know we don't see eye to eye on every issue... but in regards to LEGO I'm in the exact same predicament.

A massive build list (that continues to grow), but never enough space to display them all.

Contemplating using a bunch of those big rock/cliff pieces as part of enlarging #6860 into a more substantial Batcave.  Mulling over options for elevated platforms for vehicles to make the most of shelf space.  The last couple of years of DC sets has taught me the question isn't where does he get those wonderful toys, but where does he park them?

    @samiam391
"I know we don't see eye to eye on every issue... " Well that shouldn't be a problem, is it? I mean, have you ever met someone who is always in agreement with you? And, did you like it?
I just want to say, because I expressed certain opinions on another thread (must have been that Mickey topic ) on which we disagree, does not mean I harbour any ill will towards you, or I bear some grudge towards you personally.

    .

"A massive build list (that continues to grow), but never enough space to display them all."
I wonder how many people can relate to that predicament. Every time that I want to build something new, but need to break other stuff down because I lack space feels like a total bummer. At such times this Lego hobby does not feel like fun & play at all, but rather like a tedious choir.
I like building, but am not so fond of taking anything apart, unless I do so because I want to MOC something with the bricks from that set. When you feel that 'creative spark' then it is fun to take apart all the sets you spend so much time on putting all together. Otherwise I really resent taking sets apart. I cannot have my house totally clutter up with Lego sets everywhere, which really has happened. Yet at the same time, the collector in me just feels compelled to keep collecting more and more, which I cannot stop either.
I wonder how I can overcome those negative sentiments, and change my mindset for the better, and deal with all this never ending Lego sorting stuff.

Right now, I am just taking small steps, I told my self I should at least break down and bag up one set, or large minifig collection every day.

Tonight I will bag up my Green Dragon Knights army, and my Goblin King Hobbit set, which I already in one piece put in a storing container. Maybe I will get around to Lake Town too.

@TheBigLegoski & @samiam391, I feel your pain, running out of space for all my sets, plus we have the sets for the kids too. I haven't even built the last two Ultra Agents sets ( #71064 or #70165 ), my Helicarrier or any of the new Marvel sets yet (still need to grab #76039 ), due to a lack of display area. Worst thing is, our six year old got five more sets from grandma & grandpa for his birthday, we now have a large pile of boxes filing our spare closet. Need more room!

I decided to stop 'searching' for display space in my brick-cave and bought floor to ceiling shelf supplies. Also I wouldn't necessarily encourage this but if I have a set to break and sort I do it when I'm tired. Like nodding from sleep tired. Gives me a genuine ambition to finish sorting.

    Fall Of The Lonely Mountain

    Fall Of The Lonely Mountain

I'm quickly running out of space to display LEGO in my room and the The Lonely Mountain (79018) is one of the least exciting sets I own, so today is the fall of the Lonely Mountain.

Yup, I'm disassembling it for parts; I thought why not do it in style :)
