2017 LEGO Inside Tour

My wife and my daughter have received the golden ticket to participate to the next LIT2017. They are so happy ! And me too...
I think i will go with them to spend time in the LEGOLAND PARK during the Tour. We are very impatient.
Any other future participants ?

I just read the tour guidelines: https://wwwsecure.lego.com/en-us/aboutus/lego-group/programs-and-visits/lego-inside-tour

Then I did the conversion: 14500 Danish Krone equals 2115.11 US Dollar

Though that includes the two night stay at Hotel Legoland, breakfast and catered food for two days, and an entry ticket for Legoland, that doesn't include roundtrip airfare.

    Yeesh!

Seems LEGO added an extra tour this year (2017) in October, as opposed to two in May, two in June from the last few years. Wonder what that means for the Inside Tour set given the much longer period of time between the first tour of 2017 and the last?

How does one get to go to these? I'm interested - not for those reasons.

You have to go to the LEGO Inside Tour page (https://wwwsecure.lego.com/en-us/aboutus/lego-group/programs-and-visits/lego-inside-tour) to sign up after it opens but before it closes. It generally is only open for a few hours, and even if you sign up within that window you may be put on a waiting list. It is very expensive — this year's is 14,500 DKK/around $2,115 USD per person. That cost includes 2 nights' lodging and meals at the Hotel LEGOLAND but not travel.

I was meaning in terms of the reveal of the set. So much much much more to the Inside Tour than receiving the Inside Tour set. Though it's very cool to hear the story behind the set each year, even if you weren't on a tour because it's always got a link to LEGO history.

I was planning my holiday next year and was wondering why I hadn't seen anything for the Inside Tour, and now I find out it was in October. And it's sold out.

...seems I'm cursed with bad luck.

So it's always in October that the registration window opens?

Usually it's early November, but not this year @stlux

The tour is increasingly popular as the introduction of a 5th tour indicates. For every attendee on any tour something like 14 people apply for every spot. LEGO have changed it up this year. I'd suggest fortnightly to monthly visits to the site or some kinda google alert to new info being posted for applications for 2018. They usually advise when registration will open.

If anyone is familiar with the process of paying for the trip, I'd very much appreciate if you could send me a message. My bank says the account number for LEGO is missing on the invoice they sent and my attempts to contact LEGO have been less than successful so far.

My wife and I also received a rejection email but, a week or so later we received an email stating that there was a cancellation and were we still interested? Duh! Of course we were!  Trip is all booked for the first tour in May. We'll stop in Copenhagen for a day then take a train and bus to Billund. 84 days and counting. Really excited about this opportunity.

Did you think people sign up before realising how expensive the trip is? Or before they have checked with a significant other? That might result in minute cancellations than a 'normal' trip might suffer. I'd love to go to this one year, but with 4 children that's going to be... unlikely :-(

@MaffyD "one year" sounds like after the kids have left home, no?

Selling a few excess children can help pay for the trip though. ;)
