Holiday Gift exchange

Hi there,

I started the this year's holiday gift exchange over at BL, but there were not so many participants. If you would like to join:

Here's the story: Sign up and I will match you ANONYMOUSLY with
another BL'er. Gifts should be in the 20-30 dollar range (incl. shipping).
Creative
gifts are AWESOME and always appreciated. You can sign up more than once - you
will get matched multiple times as well. Some people do this so each of their
kids each get a separate gift.

Simply sign up by sending me the info below (you can copy and paste it into a
BL message) - please keep the format intact, it makes it easier for me to parse
the data later.

COPY THE INFO BELOW THIS LINE INTO A BL MSG AND FILL IN THE DETAILS
----------------

BRICKLINK NAME:
REAL NAME:
ADDRESS:
CITY:
PROVINCE:
POSTAL CODE:
COUNTRY:
PREFER DOMESTIC or FOREIGN (D/F) (you can leave this blank):
1 OR 2 LINES ABOUT WHAT YOU WANT, OR REALLY DON'T WANT (please don't
leave this blank, people want to know):

Final date is November, 10. Just send me a pm or directly to heikoloogi AT gmx de

Hope some will like it,

Heiko Baum

    Welcome to Brickset!

We actually already do a Secret Santa gift exchange here in the forum (the deadline for entry closed just yesterday) but I hope you find some more entrants for your BrickLink one.

@MaffyD In order not to miss these things, I use the Recent Discussions view to browse the forum. These type of threads have the "announcement" tag, and are displayed on the top in that view.

@stlux - it's nice advice but personally I find I'm more likely to miss stuff with the recent view than the category view as there's so much at once - from a lot of discussion on which view is better (I think there was a whole thread on the subject) I think if someone is missing something it's because of their forum habits rather than chosen view.

@Shib Fair point - I should have added a disclaimer that the recent view works best for *my* browsing habits of the forum ;)

I personally like it as the Events/Members Only sections require so much scrolling in the default Home view. I just keep a Recent Discussions tab open on my mobile that I regularly refresh. As I refresh it rather often, it's nice to see all new content on the top and not need to scroll.

But that might indeed not work for everybody. But (jumping to conclusions here) @MaffyD seems to visit the forum at least a couple of times a day, so it might also work for him :)

That's the view I use! And I'm normally very conscientious about keeping up to date. So how did it pass me by? Confused. Anyway... there might be a silver lining in here, as long as no-one says anything... ;-)
