Sorry for the multiple posts, but it was the only way I could get it to post. The only special piece is the printed Chevy/Batman base.

I thought the movie was great! Almost as good as the Lego Movie. Loved all the inside Batman humor.

Large Batman LED lights, they only stay on if you hold the chest button down as far as I could tell.Regular keychain LED next to it for scale. They seem to be larger than the Lego clocks as well.

The older big torch's tend to have a switch on the back so they can run a 30min timer, you can turn them off sooner of course.

However the light on that foot does look a bit different to the older ones.

#853650 Movie Maker Set is now available in the German Lego Stores for EUR 19.99; probably soon in other countries as well. Supposedly from early March also available from [email protected] (source: Promobricks)

What are the official names of the three Minifigures in the S&H Accessory Set with Bat Signal? The database doesn't include them yet, and aside from O'Hara I'm not sure if they have names aside from GCPD Officer and GCPD whatever.

As an OCD List Making Nut I must have their names to add to my word document of all Minifigures I currently own.

  • ShibShib Member Posts: 5,469
I believe they are generic background characters so you might as well assign them a GCPD Cop 1 & 2 type name
  • Russell844Russell844 Member Posts: 2,419
I do remember seeing both of them in the movie, but they did not have names.

somehow the LEGO Batman Movie twitter has suddenly become awful and cringey and I don't understand anymore

Saw the movie today. I loved it. Although, did it do better than 2014's The Lego Movie? I am kinda getting that vibe, given everything I've heard.

It'll have shorter legs than the Lego Movie, but it's been a big success.

These movies are more about selling merchandise than how good the movie is. I have a feeling that The Lego Batman Movie will sell more merchandise than The Lego Movie.

That's more because Batman already had it's own superhero fanbase than anything else.

For Lego, selling merchandise may be the biggest thing, but Warner Bros. has a huge amount of interest in these movies being successful. The Lego Movie was their first truly successful animated offering in some time, and even though they are branching out a little with original movies like Storks, the success of Warner Animation Group is still very dependent on the success of the "Lego cinematic universe".

But either way I don't think there's really much to worry about. The Lego Movie and The Lego Batman Movie have both been massively successful in terms of critical success, box office success, and merchandising success. If The Lego Ninjago Movie can repeat that winning streak, confidence in Lego's cinematic offerings from all parties involved should be able to sustain itself for the foreseeable future.

    I disagree.
There is a very GOOD reason for these movies to be quality films and stories.
If people don't like and enjoy the movies, the studio loses money, which means future movies won't happen, which also means future potential sets from movies won't happen which means everyone loses money.

You CAN have quality and still be commercialized.
I mean, what was Toy Story 2 and 3?!?
Have you seen what Mattel and Disney sold with those?

So, does Lego have just a motion picture deal? There is so much that could be done with "Loony Tunes" and "Merrie Melodies". There used to be all thise Warner Bros. Stores in all the mall at one, so there is obviously interest in the characters associated with the company.

^it is common knowledge Bugs and the others are being held captive under Elsa's castle at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando. F-----G Disney doesn't play fair.

I think you are discounting the impact of the 'Storks Cinematic Universe'.

First let me say that until about a week and a half ago I had little interest in picking up any of the LEGO Batman movie sets, but something "clicked" and all of a sudden I've seen the film and keep purchasing sets.  I think some of it is the excitement and challenge in collecting all of the exclusive minifigures from this theme.

Via Promobricks: German/Dutch forum members living near Oberhausen (or Berlin) might be interested in a TLBM special brick the local LEGOLAND Discovery Centre is giving to kids until March 05.

UK based eBay sellers are now also listing this brick; could anybody confirm whether the UK Discovery Centres/Legoland Windsor are offering this brick?

I would have thought that LL Windsor will give this away on the first day of season (Mid March) so if they are turning up now, LLDC Manchester is the more likely source? @stlux

edit, lol! definitely LLDC it says so at the bottom! Maybe LL Windsor will have a different one?

All joking aside, I watched Storks the other day with my son (rented it) and I actually found it to be pretty darn funny.

Please could someone post a photo of Joker's torso from 70906 lowrider - without his head on. Specifically I'd like to see his neck.
    thanks in advance!

Yes these are available from the LDC Manchester. They are part of the Batman Movie days promotion. They are given to children as part of the factory tour. We went last week and both my daughters got one each to add to their collection of Factory tour bricks.

This morning I came across a short video by Wired on the animation of the movie:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t7iLVM4SVSk

The interesting thing is that at 0:39 in the video we get what might be our best look yet at #70917, as the model is used to demonstrate the animation technique.

Now, whether the physical set is translated brick for brick from the digital I'm not sure, but it's pretty cool to see.

Was the Arctic Roller in the movie? I remember the Duckmobile, but I'm pretty sure that was during the opening sequence.

I'm sure it's been brought up before, but why no Wonder Twins minifigs from the movie?  Superman's Justice League anniversary party would have been a great set.

I would have LOVED that set!
As long as we got Wonder Dog, Apache Chief, Black Vulcan, El Dorado, Samurai and Hawk Girl!
(which would have kept to the fun sub theme of lesser known characters)

"Man Hero" would have been a perfect mis-translation.
