^^ I think it really depends upon where it was last year, sorry to say.  WM tends to put all the toys together down one of the mail aisles.  I have 3 WM nearby.  All are different.  One of them puts all of the Black Friday toys in the produce section.

Same here on my local Wally putting them in the grocery section.  I'm going with spreading the mass of humanity throughout the store reasoning!

Last year my Walmart put them right across from Toys, in the Infants/Toddlers clothing area. I think I might skip that box this year, and just go for the Dimensions Level & Team packs.

Don't forget not all Walmarts are created equal. Your Toys section is my hardware and so on.

^This is very true, especially so in my case where I've got one of the few remaining "little" stores. No supercenter for THIS guy. :D

It's worse when almost all the stores you visit have the men's restroom to the left...then you go to one of the newer stores and it's on the right...

I tried to pick up deals two years ago and was massively disappointed when I saw that people were buying the #10697 by the cartload. An entire pallet gone in less than a minute.

Last year I stayed home and patiently fought with the website and was able to pick up two of them. It took a little while but the end results were better and I didn't have to deal with the crowds.

I will also add that occasionally they DO appear back up throughout the day on the website during BF and Cyber Monday at the 29.99 sale price (sometimes also at 49.99) , you just have to be really fast to get them. Last year it seemed like I saw them on sale throughout BF and CM at least 2-3 times online at the 29.99 price (and at 49.99), so if you miss out at the store, do not want to go, or did not want to rise at 4-5 am (or possibly earlier) for a crashing site fighting to get on, then you can roll the dice and hope they pop up later in the day.

The only other issue I noticed buying online was the limit one they imposed, and it was not enough for free shipping, so you either had to eat the shipping cost or quickly find another set to add (in my case I added the DUPLO 29.99 box)..

Also, has anyone heard more about the Green Arrow Gamestop promo for BF? Is it only in store, or is it online as well?
  • josekaleljosekalel Member Posts: 683
I completely forgot about the shipping cost. I am planning on going to the store tomorrow for other items, but if I see them online first I will avoid the store.

True, as long as there is a store near you. I would say to anyone to go online now and ensure the store selected for 'ship to store' is the closest one to you as last year I did not think of it and ordered to a store where I then realized I had to drive 20 minutes to get the items.
  • eggsheneggshen Member Posts: 602
When I ordered, I wasn't sure if my order went through, so I ordered again just in case. I ended up paying $4.97 in shipping, which I consider well worth it. I'm not sure why they let me order again, but I'm not complaining.
  • josekaleljosekalel Member Posts: 683
I think $4.97 is well worth not having to deal with Black Friday...parking...waiting...the 'fight' to get the item you want...

This is the first time I've been interested in Black Friday deals, so I may want to try the crowds for the experience.
I deposited as much as I could into a bank account linked to a regular debit card and my tagret redcard. one less thing to do in the rush.

As for the 5 sets Target has at $30 instead of $50 - #41135 has the best part out value, #76026 is OK but concentrated in a few pricey minifigs, and #21116 #31038 #60079 are only deals if you actually want the set.

Yeah, 20% off is nothing special unless it's a set you really want.

Walmarts deal is early. Usually it starts at like 4-5am, and apparently out of stock already..

What would be a shocker to me is if the Pet Shop gets to be 20% off, I think that would be the first time a modular was available for purchase when a discount was attached.

4 to 5 AM on Thursday or Friday?
Now when would the 50% doorbusters be available?

Whenever the sales flyers say typically is when the online sales start, but they also usually use Eastern Time zone for the start of US sales, so if you are in other parts of the US you have to adjust accordingly.

Last year, and Im fairly certain years before that, the BF Walmart offers started at 4-5am on BF. To see them become available on Thursday at 12am is new to me, or at least something not seen outside of LEGO S@H in some time.

Looks like GameStop sales are available online now. It says the Green Arrow minifig will ship with the $40 Dimensions Starter Pack, but I don't see it added to the cart. I'm going to swing by my B&M store for the deal instead of trusting the interwebs.

Not sure if this was posted anywhere, but Barnes&Noble.com has a Buy One Get One 50% Off Toys deal that seems to be working on Lego.

It's not added to cart but if you place an order, you'll see that it'll be in your order history.

@MugenPower does yours have this "currently not available" message too? Wonder if this means all the green arrow plots are gone already
  • MugenPowerMugenPower Member Posts: 638
@YogaFett2, are you viewing that from a phone?  I'm on a PC and it doesn't look like that...  Anyway, checking on my PC, mine doesn't say anything like that but I placed my order at ~6AM EST.
  • JBricks27JBricks27 Member Posts: 678
@MugenPower the desktop site doesn't have that "unavailable" message for my order
  • MugenPowerMugenPower Member Posts: 638
@YogaFett2, OK, I checked on my phone and it also has the Not Available message like yours.  I ordered the Gremlins pack from them and it says the same thing...

It sucks because I stayed up until 12:30AM and although the prices changed on their site, there was no mention about the Green Arrow figure.  I went all the way through the checkout process and it never showed up so I stopped refreshing the page and went to bed.

I forgot to turn off my alarm this morning and woke up at 6AM so I figured I'd check again and saw on another forum that the GA figure was now available online, so I placed my order.  I also screencapped the product page that shows the GA fig comes with it, if that'll even do anything if it ships without it.

Oh well, here's hoping for the best!
  • JBricks27JBricks27 Member Posts: 678
@MugenPower here's to hoping that only means that the green arrow is unavailable to purchase on its own
  • madforLEGOmadforLEGO Member Posts: 10,837
Green Arrow never appeared in the cart for me on my PC. Then I read the description for the Dimensions set; they had a note about the green arrow promo. In that note they simply say that if you buy a Dimension set online the item will be added when the order ships (or something to that effect) so the only mention of Green Arrow for me was in the order status summary for me. Checked the actual order status link and it showed what I had purchased, and listed Green Arrow, but did not have the 'available' moniker next to him, like@YogaFett2 saw. (for what that is worth).

I do chuckle a bit about how if you go to the store pickup the fig will be available at time of pickup .. for the stores that supposedly got more than 3 figures in.

It is worth noting that the Dimensions Fantastic Beast set was not on sale at TRU when I checked before going to the Gamestop site.

Yes, hoping that too. I only bought stuff at Gamestop for the Green Arrow promo and because I did not want to go out on a cold rainy Chicagoland morning at 4-5am to wait at a Gamestop to try to get him.

I bought the the two Story Packs and it shows two Green Hornets but same message as everybody else. Hope they ship, otherwise will simply return them. Not going to stress over it.

Maybe, but I ordered the Gremlins pack and my status for that says the same thing.  Whatever, guess I'll see when it comes!

Thanks for the heads up about Barnes and Noble. However, BOGO 50% off is essentially 25% off, not a great deal unless it's already on sale and/or you want it anyway. B&N seems to have everything listed at MSRP.

So Green Arrow ships with any Dimensions  sets or does it have to be a certain pack?

I just finished eating dinner and am leaving for Target and WalMart ASAP. I should get there at 7 something rather than right at 6.
I'm afraid the big deals will go very quickly like major sports/concert tickets.

Unless they do not refund the shipping.. er.. handling fee present (at least that is what I saw added)

Im guessing most Walmarts will be cleaned out of the Creator and Duplo boxes fairly quickly BUT then We have seen stories where someone went 6 hours later and found a untouched pallet of these so YMMV... Same with the Target sets.

I got to Walmart around 7:30. They were busy but not crazy. I had enough money for 7 $30 boxes and got that. 6 LEGO, 1 DUPLO and there were a few of those left, gone by the time I checked out.
With my budget used, the conditions at Target are a moot point.

NO Gamers Club Discount with any of Black Friday deals at Best Buy per fine print:

"Gamers Club Unlocked 20% off video games benefit does not combine with promotions advertised in Best Buy's Thanksgiving Day physical ad or expanded digital ad."

I can see the Green Arrow poly in my order history now. Nice!  I think I'll go to the brick and mortar store tomorrow and give it a shot, though. If I can get it there, I'll cancel the order. Wanna play this weekend!

Yes, but I do not see the Green Arrow promo in the item description so it may not be eligible for the promo. Fairly certain that while the promo should work for any LEGO purchase, I think the promo offer has to appear in the item description or you may not get one in the order.. Just a guess though

I'm going to try to just wake up before 5am to just get the Sonic Pack. I'm kinda confused about the online orders, so I will just have to risk it all. BTW, happy Thanksgiving to all the Bricksetters! :D

I just brought it up @madforLEGO because I hadn't seen it before.

Just checked Brickset and it has the set listed under

Probably because that one isn't released yet?  It says the release date is Feb 2017.

And that really sucks that that's a GS exclusive.
