There are 5 or 6 open boxes in my local Dreamland, I saw yesterday..

20% off LEGO at Kruidvat.be. Discount only visible during the checkout process (but announced by some banners).

As most of you know the Kruidvat.be webshop only carries smaller sets; the selection of these smaller sets physical stores carry can be quite random or nonexistent. Kruidvat LEGO prices are often below RRP already so an extra 20% off takes some of these sets to an all time low: Friends heart boxes for 4,79 € for instance.

on Dreamland.be, you get 20% off the most expensive item if you buy 2 things (ending today). The bugatti looks like well priced, but I'm not after that. Otherwise nothing that jumps out at me, but wanted to let you know.

Dreamland has a promo running until september 28th, more details on https://www.dreamland.be/e/nl/dl/actie-sparen-lego

Basically you get a sticker for each €10 spent on Lego, and when you have 15 stickers you get a box with 10 polybags plus a choice between one of three available 'free' sets (a duplo, a city or a friends themed one).

I have no clue which polybags are included in the box though, they're not listed on the website itself.

Because I can't edit my previous message anymore I'd like to add my update in this posting. The setnumbers of the 'free' sets indicated on the Dreamland promo website are incorrect. Based on the small pictures I believe we get to choose between these three:
    - 41359 Heart Box Friendship Pack
    - 60207 Drone Chase
    - 10886 My First Car Creations

And another update to the dreamland promotion, here is a list of the included polybags in the party box:

    30340-1: Emmet's 'Piece' Offering (TLM2)
    30384-1: Snowspeeder (Star Wars)
30451-1: Spider-Man's Mini Spider Crawler (Spiderman)
30407-1: Harry's Journey to Hogwarts (Harry Potter)
    30535-1: Fire Flight (Ninjago)

    Friends:
    30409-1: Emma's Bumper Cars

    City:
    30361-1: Fire ATV
    30362-1: Sky Police Jetpack
    Duplo:
    30328-0: Town Rescue - {Random Bag}
    30327-1: My First Duck

I had to ask for the little stickers today, and was told the promotion was a free baseplate with a €15 Lego spend. Another staff member helped out and gave me the stickers, so I ended up with a baseplate too. Not sure if that was intended or not.

At Dreamland Vilvoorde they gave that baseplate with a €25 spend on Classic sets. It was also anounced like that with some official printed labels on the Lego shelves.

Ah okay, yeah it was Vilvoorde. I bought City though so it was a nice mix-up in my favour for once :)

A UK store but they deliver to Belgium. The Range selling 10x7L Really Useful drawer tower for £40. I ordered 5 and delivery to Belgium was just £9. That's a deal that even Amazon can't come close to, and I've never found a Belgian stockist that carries these.

    https://www.therange.co.uk/stationery/office-organisation/office-storage/really-useful-rainbow-tower-unit/#272734

The only annoying thing is that they had the 11x7L drawer unit at the same price but it sold out recently.

Hoog Katreine is next to my office. Better start saving up seriously.

Afraid I will spend a lot of time at the PaBwall (as sets etc will probably be bought online..).

Also, Amsterdam is home to my alternative office, so guess that PaBwall will also impact my wallet... Mental note: keep PaBCups in my bag/at the office. ;)

    Silly question!?!
What is (or will be) the address of the Lego store in Amsterdam? When will it open, I suppose it isn't already open? Is it?
Really want to go and visit it! So happy (like a little kid) there is going to be an actual official Lego store in my city.

^ @TheBigLegoski so far as I know, Lego has only communicated that it's opening end of 2019. I've not seen an address. I'm guessing somewhere in the center or in a mall. I'm sure they'll put up banners on the shop front and make plenty of publicity when the time comes. I can imagine the excitement!

Just saw the Utrecht store is opening in October.

    Actual date not yet known?
  • stluxstlux Member Posts: 2,450
The Amsterdam store opening was still communicated as December in TLG's HY1 results. As that will be a flagship store, it will likely be a much larger event.

Very likely the it will coincide with Lego World @ Jaarbeurs (so, 17th of October). When I find out more, I'll let you guys know.

True, but the Utrecht one is the one literally next to my office ;) (and the first one in NL! Yay!)

I'm probably going to both... :-)
  • TheBigLegoskiTheBigLegoski Member Posts: 1,437
Opening a story in December when Sinterklaas is on December 5th is just totally nuts!
TLG needs to open the Amsterdam store a lot sooner.
Anyway I am still super happy we will now finally get our 'own' Lego store in town.
Pick a Brick Wall, here I come!
  • TheBigLegoskiTheBigLegoski Member Posts: 1,437
    More silly questions!
What is the appeal of going to a store opening?
Will you have to line up for hours? (I hate waiting lines)

  • eMJeeNLeMJeeNL Member Posts: 822
Freebies? Rebates? Store exclusives to show everyone? Just neat reason to meet other (BS)AFOLs?
  • sid3windrsid3windr Member Posts: 1,460
Being there moment. Possible freebie. Probably a free Lego Store set if you buy 125€+. Fun. Meeting Benelux Bricksetters. :-)
  • HenkdeVriesHenkdeVries Member Posts: 107
I hope they do it on the Monday of Lego World, as I will be going with my son, so best not to buy expensive sets at Lego World, but instead at the Lego Store :P
  • stluxstlux Member Posts: 2,450
There might also be designers present, although this might be limited to the opening of flagships store. The Leicester Square opening had Rok Kobe and Jamie Berard signing sets.

According to Bouwsteentjes.info the Utrecht store will be on the first floor of the Zuidpassage section of the Hoog Catharijne shopping centre, next to the Samsung store.

Might join the Brickset queue for the Amsterdam Flagship store opening - exclusives are typically reserved for flagship stores. Going to both is difficult to justify as I'm away for a weekend in Billund in October and the family planning for that month is quite full.
  • sid3windrsid3windr Member Posts: 1,460
^ Is Hamburg a flagship store? Because they did give the exclusive Lego Store set there on the reopening after a rebuild...

Definitely designers being present will be more of a chance in Amsterdam than Utrecht.
  • stluxstlux Member Posts: 2,450
As far as I'm aware #40145 LEGO Brand Retail Store is a GWP at every Lego Store (re)opening.
  • AleyditaAleydita Member Posts: 955
I hope the Dutch stores offer more than the Belgian store did. Seriously disappointed with what we received on opening day compared to stores elsewhere in Europe.
  • sid3windrsid3windr Member Posts: 1,460
    Pray tell...
  • eMJeeNLeMJeeNL Member Posts: 822
What's also cool is the announcement on the storefront @ HC: For more info, go to stores.lego.com, and that there is literally NOTHING there about NL stores.
  • sid3windrsid3windr Member Posts: 1,460

    .nl too.
  • TheBigLegoskiTheBigLegoski Member Posts: 1,437
None of the current Kruidvat Lego deals are that good when compared with the Amazon.de prices for the the same sets. Just so you know. Go check and compare before you pay more than you have to.
(See my comment on the Amazon.de topic too)

Anyone that recently stopped by the LEGO store in Wijnegem who knows if they have enough stock of the Central Perk FRIENDS ideas set? Me and some friends all want to go out for a trip to buy the set. Online it's on backorder, it used to be 'shipped by september 20', but now it's already 'shipped by october 2'.

I wasn’t there for the opening of the store in Wijnegem, but the year after they did
have an anniversary event with some nice GWPs:
    - 3300003 Lego brand retail store
    - 40048 Birthday Cake
    - unique build-a-minifig blister package for three free minifigs
    - double VIP points
I don’t recal receiving any other polybags, but I thought that the goodies were nice :)

StoneWars was in Amsterdam and discovered the location of the new Lego Store (article here, in German): Kalverstraat 57, in a pedestrian-only shopping street. (And the most expensive street in the Dutch version of Monopoly)

Opening date still TBC, but "Opening in time for Sinterklaas 2019".

A good, that's reasonably far away from the Central Station. Gives me (pretty) good reason to NOT go there every time I'm at our CS-based office.

That is no more than a five-minute walk from central station. Take this route: Damrak, Dam, Rokin, and then reach the store via the alley Duifjessteeg.

    @stlux
    Thanks! This is wonderful.

I might try to attend the opening as well! I love visiting Amsterdam anyway. Are store openings usually on a saturday?
  • stluxstlux Member Posts: 2,450
@wardm I would not count on the Amsterdam store opening on a Saturday. Most recent flagship store openings I recall:
    • Shanghai Thursday 12 May 2016
    • Leicester Square Thursday 17 Nov 2016
    • Berlin re-opening Thursday 22 Jun 2017
    • Beijing Friday 22 Feb 2019

Unsure how I feel right now, grateful or ever-so-slightly panicky in the wallet-department. ;)

EDIT: Just got this; 16/11 IS a saturday!:
