I for one wouldn't mind seeing an Imperial Gunship set, with Rukh, Governor Pryce, Ezra with scout helmet/jetpack, and maybe a pilot and/or stormtrooper?

Minister Rydan would be a cool minifig as well.

Also, please give us a Loth-Cat!!!

***THREE TIMES  AAAAND you are still here!?!?***

You know the introduction of time-travel does potentially open up Pandora's box.
Let the retconning commence ...... once ....... more ......
(Retroactive continuity, or retcon for short, is a literary device in which established facts in a fictional work are adjusted, ignored, or contradicted by a subsequently published work which breaks continuity with the former.)
Which can be good but also horrible.
What are your thoughts?

Also why was it no problem to pull Ashoka out, but was/would it be fatal to do so in Kanan's case. You can just as easily argue that it would not be problematic, contrary to what Ahsoka said.
As much as I enjoy the concept of time-travel, in that galaxy far away from a long time ago it means not only as Yoda said in TESB: "always in motion the future is" but also that the past and present is now fluid. Different timelines can be created, which means parallel timelines from alternate dimensions which can clash etc.
Is introducing this 'Deus ex machina' brilliant or just a bad plot device and lame story writing?
Moreover .....
Are Legends now canon again?
For that matter, can we please just erase the entire horrible sequel trilogy!?! (talking about: 'The Farce Awakens' and 'The Lost Jedi' of course!)

OK so how I see it is Ahsoka was always meant to be pulled from that moment by Ezra in a time loop kind of way.

We know from season 2 Darth Vader comes out of the destroyed temple, we just didn't know what had happened there. The Convor (is that what those birds are called) was present and goes to Ahsoka who we see walking into the entrance which is where she is left at the end of the episode.

Remember she is still in the season 2 timeline and 2 years away from our rebels current timeline, that's why she could not go back with Ezra.  Had she met up with the Ghost crew at the start of season 3 it may have inadvertently stopped Ezra from saving her altogether.

With Kanan a similar thing could not have been done as removing Kanan would have meant the explosion killed Sabine, Hera and Ezra stopping him from saving Kanan anyway.

Ahsoka was always meant to be saved that way (both in writing and in her in universe destiny). I've also seen mention that the symbol over Kanan's portal was a sith one - perhaps Ahsoka also saw through Palpatines ploy of tempting Ezra - had he stepped through he would have met Palpatine and not Kanan on the other side.

Overall I understand why Kanan couldn't have been saved  but was so glad to see how Ahsoka did. Had she beaten Vader or he let her live it would have damaged his character for me. This way avoided that. And now we're back again  not knowing where Ahsoka is. There were no ships left on Malachor - would she have survived there for 2 years? And I doubt the rebels have time a side mission to rescue her now!

***spoiler alert!!!***

@Coolguy5000
I just re-watched the finale (last two episodes of season 2) for the first time since I saw them almost two years ago, in order to compare it with episodes 12 and 13 from season 4.
Ahsoka stayed behind fighting Vader, telling Ezra and Kanan to escape. As Maul had just wounded Kanan in battle, now a blind man, leaving him and his apprentice Ezra posing even less of a thread against the dark lord of the Sith. The Sith holocron, which Kanan and Ezra together just removed from the chamber at the summit of the temple, which had turned the site into a weapon, was not to fall into the hands of Darth Vader and the empire. So essentially Ahsoka sacrificed herself battling it out with her old master Anakin, now Darth Vader. At the end of this final episode we see this convor (bird: owl) of Ahsoka peer down, and watch Vader limp away from the temple before it flies off to the left disappearing in the black smoke. In the next shot the camera pans in through the black smoke and briefly we see Ahsoka from behind walking into the shadow of the entrance/exit of the temple.

I knew Ahsoka was alive, and would hopefully at some point make her re-entry into the series, though when or how has always been kept secret by the writers of the series.

When Ezra pulls Ahsoka through the portal from Malachor, the round portal is flanked by three triangles, and lines with Sith writing alongside it, all of it together forms a triangle that resembles that Sith holocron. The moment Ezra pulls Ahsoka through the portal is prior to the last shot of the final episode of season 2 where we see her dissapearing walking into the temple. It is at the moment when during Season2Episode20part2 the temple goes  'supernova' and big translucent magenta/purple sphere expands from where she and Darth Vader at the summit of the site are duelling.

When minister Veris Hydan and Sabine Wren discuss the mural with a depiction of the Father, Daughter, and Son, apparently three important figures in Jedi mythology, the daughter is depicted with an owl, just like the one that accompanies Ahsoka. So perhaps Ahsoka is the personification/manifestation of someone special from the Jedi 'religion'?!? I really like the artwork of ep. 13 season 4. The murals seem a mix between zodiac, star-chart, puzzle, with some art-nouveau Alphonse Mucha influences, as well as how they depicted that space-time dimension.
Anyway when Ahsoka jumps back through the portal from the space/time dimension she is back on Malachor at the temple. I assume the same time, or just a instant moment later (end of season 2) as when she was pulled away by Ezra towards the future (from her perspective).

I am curious to see if somehow Ahsoka has survived Malachor where she was left marooned, or not?! Will this be the last we have seen of her?

I was fine buying into the storyline, my suspension of disbelief was not disrupted. It was also clear that Kanan's consciousness since his demise now resided in the loth-wolf guiding Ezra. Unlike Maul's death, I think the writers and animators did a good job with how they completed Kanan's storyline and arc.

Yet, theoretically with the introduction of a time/space travel device, it is possible to reintroduce characters that have died, not just briefly but fully revived. Even Kanan Jarrus.

It really is too bad that there will be no more SW Rebels shows after this season. Even though the series (particularly during season 3) contains numerous wonky episodes, I am really fond of this series; the six main protagonists are a cool gang, the Ghost is such a wicked spaceship, the inquisitors, agent Kallus, the squabbling and conniving imperial officers,  Thrawn etc. This series has/had plenty going for it, and still has plenty of potential.
I wish they weren't in such a hurry to end it.

I hope Lego will keep treating us with a new nice SW-R set every now and then the coming years, as they still do with both Clone Wars and Prequel Trilogy sets.

I love how SW:Rebels is focusing on the Force as it eventually ties itself back to the SW movies.

If Lego ever does a location based set for Rebels, the Lothal Temple seems like a clear choice. Can’t really think of any other locations that have recurred as often or as significantly, except maybe Chopper Base.

Of course, it’d be really nice to get some Mandalorian sets.

I am disappointed to see rebels go. We always knew it had a 'use by' date and wouldn't last indefinitely but I feel they have really only now found a good balance between the action of a rebellon and the mystics of the force.

In regards to sets, if they follow a style similar to the clone wars sets now I'd like a few sets as follows:

●A Malachor set with a small temple build with 7th Sister, 8th Brother and possibly Kanan /Ahsoka to have a hero in the set.(€25 price range)

●Attollon Base with speeder bike, a probe droid and main control centre. Include Dodonna, AP-5 and Zeb /Sato (€25) price range)

●Lothal temple build with S4 Kanan, Ezra and Sabine. (€25 price range)

●Battle for Lothal with Hondo, S4 Kallus, Hera, Chopper, Price and stormtroopers/Ruhk.
Include one of the police gunships and a small ground weapon for rebels. (€85 price range - think similar to Crait set)

●Rebels Battlepack speeder build/ scenery to connect to above Lothal set. Ryder, Rex Jai Kell and Hondo pig friend.(€15 price range)

If we got even one of these ideas be happy! But I doubt it unfortunately.  Anyone else have any ideas for rebel sets?

Spoiler!!!!( for those not caught up yet.)

Pretty much all of that clip was from the final episode of season 2. The person who edited that clip has left several fractions of seconds and some entire shots (including shots with dialogue) out from that scene from season 2, and replaced it with some footage no more than a couple of seconds long in totality from episode 13 season 4 material. The dialogue added is that of Ahsoka saying: "May the force be with you Ezra Bridger" which is from S4E13.

*Nightbrother/Maul’s Gauntlet with S3-4 Ezra, S4 Maul, S3-4 Sabine, and maybe a brick-built Bendu.
*Vizago w/droids, Azmorigan w/minions, Hondo w/Ugnaughts, Clan Wren w/male and female warriors, Imperial Super Commando w/Tristan, Jedi Temple Guard w/Grand Inquisitor, Jetpack Trooper, Phoenix Trooper, and Sentry Droid battle packs.
*A double Fang Fighter set containing parts for Concord Dawn and Clan Wren variants; could include Fenn Rau, Gar Saxon, Ursa and Tristan Wren, and a few minions.
*The Duchess with S4 Sabine, Ezra w/jet pack and painted Scout Trooper helmet, Sabine’s father and Gar Saxon’s brother.
*New TIE Defender set with Vult Skerris and a rebel or two.
*Infiltrator Droid pod with figures for protocol and assassin modes, Zeb, and AP-5.
*Star Tours shuttle with Captain droid, Amda Wabo, Maketh Tua, and a rebel or two, or possibly Gul Trayvis and his droids (his ship looked similar).
*Shadow Caster with Ketsu Onyo, Sabine, maybe a couple Stormtroopers.
*Imperial Interdictor with various officers and rebels.
*Phoenix Home, possibly with Cham Syndulla’s rebels.
*Hammerhead Corvette with Leia and Ryder Azadi’s rebels.
*Old Jho’s bar, possibly with Lando and his protocol droid.

I thought about this a lot a while back...

The penultimate episode was awesome. The finale was great too, until the deus ex machina came into the picture. Not sure what else would have worked there, but it still seemed out of place. Great epilogue though. Now where are my Hondo and Melch minifigs already :D ?

Now I would love some more Lego Rebels sets.
Definitely want a minifig of Ketsu Onyo, another Sabine with black and purple, yellow outfit and purple hairpiece (different mold to the one used for her past renditions) plus Mandalorian jetpack and helmet. A minifig of Hondo Ohnaka, and Ugnaught companion, as well as Vizago. I suppose different editions of other characters would also be welcome in more SW Rebel sets, such as Kallus in Rebel officer uniform. Also a set with governor Price would be nice.

I enjoyed the last episodes, but I also think it is a shame they wrapped it up like this, when the writers could have used all the revelations in the epilogue as the outset for multiple seasons all the way past all events transpiring during Rogue One, and even beyond the original trilogy.

I hope TLG will continue to design and release a couple of SW Rebels sets annually in the years to come.

Yeah, I also wondered about that.

I thought it rather strange the writers did not capitalized on the fact that Hera Syndula was promoted to the rank of general, and leader of Phoenix squadron, as well as a member of the alliance high command. What is the point of being a general when you have no forces at your disposal to command, and employ?!

I was hoping for an epic space battle a bit similar to Rogue One. Maybe not very original, however this is Star Wars! So WW2 style dogfighting starfighters, and capital ships battling it out similar to seventeenth century frigates at sea is what I always enjoy seeing. The writers could have had a ragtag bunch of fighters swarm in on Grand Admiral Thrawn's Star Destroyer like mad hornets, consisting of both A-wings, B-wings, and some Mandalorian ships supported by a couple Hammerheads, some stolen imperial capital ships, and/or perhaps even some old prequel trilogy clone Acclamator-class assault ship the rebels managed to salvage.

You have to remember though this was not a rebel alliance fight. The ghost crew went rogue for Lothal. I think Rex mentions it. That's why there was no large space battle. The victory at Lothal was also not seen as a rebel alliance victory leaving that title to Scarif.
Regarding Jacen..... didn't Han and Leia have a child by that name in the EU?
Have we decided to have spoilers here? I'm always cautious of it but if you'e coming to a rebels thread, expect spoilers!
I look forward to hopefully expansion on Hera's years as a
Mother to Jacen and Alliance General and how she balanced this.

As well as hopefully

Another Ahsoka novel detailing her escape from Malachor and the years leading up to us seeing her with Sabine.

Oh and FYI BTW and all that......

Dave Filoni confirmed (on rebels reacon) that neither Ezra nor Thrawn are dead. He toyed with the idea of a post credits scene of where they went but decided against it in order to leave it open for future storytelling.

Pouring out a little for the finale!

@TheBigLegoski, I was looking forward to a big space battle too, but as @Coolguy5000
points out, it wasn't an Alliance fight. It's also a good way to keep the Battle of Scarif as their first major victory. Or it's a cop-out, it just depends on your certain point of view.

About the purgils, I watched Rebels Recon just a little while ago and it did note that Ezra was the type of Jedi that had a predisposition towards animal affinity. It was definitely shown all throughout the series, so it does give the climax more meaning. It also literally ties back to Bendu's prediction as well.

I'm surprised they kept the body count relatively low, though I like how Zeb and Kallus ended up as I figured one or both of them were goners. The only thing I was surprised at was that AP-5 was left out, though I can't imagine he would have been at all helpful in anything that happened in the second half of the season. He seemed to be close to the Rex or Kallus level of importance as a second-tiered character.

@solid_strider
Lovely photo with the LOTR/H Wargs as a loth-wolves etc.
Is that Hondo Ohnaka from a Clone Wars set, or did you piece him together yourself?

I just watched Rebels Recon on youtube too.

Those space whales (Purrgils) appeared only once before in season 2. I knew that Ezra in numerous episodes throughout the series interacted with all sorts of animals (space manta reys, the shadow dwelling monsters inside that base on that meteor, loth cats and wolves etc.).
The space whales weren't a 'total facepalm' or anything of that magnitude, I was OK with it, still I would have rather seen a more conventional SW space battle as part of the finale.

I would have appreciated it if they had given some more recurring attention to the building, training, recruiting of their rebel-cell and phoenix squadron throughout the second half of the series as a small backstory since one of the sub-plots of the series was always liberating Lothal. That way the makers of the Rebels series would have had more local expandable good guys too in the fight against the empire. Instead the entire population of the planet next to being oppressed was also portrayed as helpless, passive, and idle, while stormtroopers were still lousy shots that got mowed down left and right while the Rebels hardly ever had any casualties themselves. Now the writers relied on a bunch of galactic hyperspace whales that all of a sudden magically pop up out of nowhere to save the day, and defeat Thrawn (yet that somehow do not kill him and Ezra).

If Hera were to have Phoenix squadron (and perhaps some more help) at her disposal on Lothal or hidden somewhere else (e.g.: a moon, or a nearby star system) ready to attack/ambush without it being a 'alliance undertaking' (similar to Gandalf, Eomer and his Rohirrim in LOTR The Two Towers attacking the Uruk Hai at dawn from the flank at Helm's Deep) then the liberation of Lothal would have been a bit more exciting and compelling to me. However in that case the writers would need to have written different story lines, or at least incorporated other elements which they did not.

B.t.w. I loved the scenes with Palpatine and Ezra. The strong point of this series were the storylines which had to do with 'the force', and the overall character-development of the main heroes. I thought the portal-space/time-dimension from episode 13 was fantastic too.

With regard to the story and any perceived flaws; it is what it is. Nonetheless I enjoyed Rebels very much. I would have written certain things differently myself. But since I am not a writer / producer working for Disney, all I can do is give praise where I feel it is due, and similarly share my criticism and reservations where I feel they could have done things differently, and in my view better. Having said that, Dave Filoni and the other writers, animators, voice actors, and all other people involved did a good job. I was always looking forward to new SW Rebels cartoons.

Perhaps Disney will develop a new animated SW series in the future that will feature various characters from SW Rebels and the Clone wars?!

ps.
Sorry if this post is a bit long-winded.
Yes, he was like Kylo Ren but less whiny and temperamental, and it took him longer before he went to the dark side.
It'll be interesting to see if Disney comes out with another animated series for the Episode VI-VII interim, with the fates of the Rebels and Clone Wars survivors and the building up of the First Order and Resistance as possible plot points. Sadly, I doubt any of the post Galactic Civil War characters/variants are likely to make their way into Lego, unless such an event takes place.

Well, I finally got round to seeing the finale on Easter Saturday. If I can get my hands on S3 Blu-Ray, I can watch all 4 series back to back (got all of S4 recorded on my digi-box).
