Is it me or is the last half year a bit disappointing, promo-wise, so far...
Yeah, but hold onto your hats, the next MF black VIP card offer will be amazing :D

Probably a free postcard sized poster of the Solo movie. Remember the hope and enthusiasm we had for the exclusive offers this time ladt year when buying our MFs at full price everyone?

Yeah the black card promos have been rather lackluster but the black card itself with my name printed on it? That is easily one of the coolest Lego things I own.

^^ Which they will then promptly "accidentally" distribute to non-black card holders, too!

A Promobricks reader picked up a store calendar for November:
    • 05 Nov - 21 Nov: Free #40289 Diagon Alley when spending EUR 80 or more (any theme)
    • 22 Nov - 26 Nov: Free #40292 Christmas Gift Box when spending EUR 85 or more (any theme)
    • 22 Nov - 26 Nov: Free #5005251 Penguin Suit Girl when spending EUR 35 or more (any theme) - this last one is in stores only
The picture posted is rather poor quality, so unfortunately I didn't manage to read the fine print to find the GBP thresholds. 75/80/30 GBP?

If you’re lucky you could get some leftover stock in Wijnegem? It’s a long shot of course, but a telephone call to the store is easy :)

Any idea when the carousel ornament will be available - the one that’s shaped like the snow globe from a couple of years ago.
  • sid3windrsid3windr Member Posts: 1,460
^^ Yes, was kind of thinking of that option but it's somewhat of a gamble... :-)
  • stluxstlux Member Posts: 2,450
It's already a gamble to count on a GWP, let alone a HP one, still being available 2 weeks after the promo starts ;)

Agreed, but in this case the threshold to acquire it is quite steep. And people have to choose between getting this one or the combination of the Christmas set + penguin minifig.

So yes it's still a long shot :)

@historyman I reckon we'll get the carousel set somewhere in december. It's been like this for a few years now. We get a Black Friday/Thanksgiving set for a short period of time (in this case the Christmas present) and a second set in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Still don't know which to go for - the Harry Potter Diagon Alley or the Holidays Box/Present thingy.

Any recommendations? Any ideas which would cost more on the aftermarket?
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,637
I would guess the Harry Potter will end up more expensive. Exclusive minifigure, goes with the giant castle, printed cobblestones will be scarce on Bricklink...

I'd say the Diagon Alley as well. That's certainly the one I'll be going for.

In recent years the Christmas promo from the previous year/years has been available at the online Lego Shop around this time in the following year. That was certainly the case with the Nutcracker, the Snow Globe and the 2016/2017 build up sets, all of which have been recently available or are still available to buy online.

Can't see that being the case with the Diagon Alley set
  • wardmwardm Member Posts: 887
Do promotions usually start around midnight? I really don’t want to miss out on that Diagon Alley set!
  • snowhitiesnowhitie Member Posts: 3,078
@wardm it depends. Sometimes it starts in the morning at 9 or 10 when someone at the head office has flicked the switch, but it's been at midnight too. I'll definilty mention it if I see it turning on (although I am going to sleep now so won't notice a midnight one).

It’s on there now. Just placed an order and it’s added.
  • wardmwardm Member Posts: 887
Me too! Bought another of the quidditch sets and a small super heroes set, because I didn’t know what to order...
  • Coolguy5000Coolguy5000 Member Posts: 1,585
I got the pop up book (which only cost me €5 since I had €65 in VIP points saved up!), a lightning McQueen cars set for a Christmas gift which was 20% off. And a Krypto saves the day polybag for 4.99.  With the free Diagon Alley, it was a good morning buy!

Does anyone else have trouble logging in to their LEGO iD? When I push 'sign in' on [email protected], the page reloads, but nothing else happens, I'm still not logged in. At first I only had this trouble a couple of days ago on my phone, but it still worked on my laptop.. Now I've got problems with them both. Has anyone else had this same problem before?

^ The website is full of gremlins I had some  issues today with errors and loosing pick a brick selection when confirming it to move to basket

    It's just shocking. Full stop.

But it has been disscussed so many times

I don't expect to go to these lengths on website of company  Lego size .
Especially one which charges more for brick and pieces orders than were invoiced  and their excuse is that it is in their T$C's

Latest e-mail from Lego says that 2x VIP points will be on between 17-18 Nov along with the 40292 Christmas Gift Box and free delivery on all online orders but there's no mention if 5005251 Penguin Winter Hut will be given away this weekend too (reported dates for the promos were 22-26 Nov).

Does anyone know if these offers will also be available in Lego Stores in France?  I'm not sure where to look to find the info!

When do we usually get info on the next store calendar? Is the december one already out there somewhere?
  • spicypigspicypig Member Posts: 286
Any spent £85+ for 40293, £55+ on Starwars for 40299. Start from this Saturday.
  • BrainsluggedBrainslugged Member Posts: 2,250
^That's a big spend for a very plain, insignificant character from a fairly unsuccessful movie. Even more annoying that I still need to have him.

I don't think I can afford either of those, after Black Friday and the Ninjago Docks surprise.

Does anyone know of any upcoming promotions besides double VIP points and the Easter Pod (presumably April) at some point?

    Looking for a GWP I can't resist. ;o)

Probably UK only as only the UK have "Mothering Sunday" at the end of march.

Thanks @DoktorL, I knew that was the current promo. I purchased the Tulips poly from Asda back in January.

Is it just me or has there not been any real must have promos so far this year? You know the sort, sold out on [email protected] before the first day of the promo is over or within a day or so in stores?! ;o)

I do believe this was the case with the Mustang keychain and sticker promotion. You’re correct (imho) in regard to nice vignettes/gift with purchase sets, it’s been a slow start so far.
Last year this time we allready had the 60th anniversary set and the minifig factory around the corner if I’m not mistaken.

After the drought of promotions since the May 4th one, we now have a couple:
    • 01 June - 09 June: Free #5005907 NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander Patch when buying #10266 NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander
    • 01 June - 23 June: Free #30407 Harry's Journey to Hogwarts when spending EUR 35 / GBP 35 or more on Harry Potter sets
    • 03 June - 18 June: Free #30365 Satellite when spending EUR 35 / GBP 35 or more on City sets (In stores only)
    • 05 June - 18 June: Free #40335 Space Rocket Ride when spending EUR 85/ GBP 85 or more (any theme)
    • #70838 Queen Watevra's ‘So-Not-Evil' Space Palace and #70839 The Rexcelsior! are the 2x VIP sets for this month

Why oh why is 30365 in-store only? My son so much wants it. But we are in Cornwall, next Lego Store is in Cardiff or London 😭😡

wow, that is rather "x"-ey ( I can't use that word here, but it's a versatile Scottish word) of them to make the rocket ride 1 penny more than the Apollo set costs. I mean, FFS comon!

I've had it in the past where a €54.99 spend would qualify me for the freebie given out on €55+ spends. Might be a bug on the website or perhaps Lego were feeling generous.

Just add one brick from PAB. It's a bit silly cause it costs them an envelope etc but at least it gives you the freebie...
