Well done guys, an amazing feat.
So many factors to consider with time lost to travel the biggest followed closely by the fact you can't just turn up to a Children's Ward and knock on the door. Well you can but it won't be the warmest of welcomes. Still later in year, possibly a school holiday when the traffic is a little lighter, who knows!
I'll pick up the left over pieces of cake on the following Monday. :)
It gives the weekend workers a boost with some leftover cake to eat.
Unfortunately I'll be too busy to do our usual Lego Raffle, but LUG Notts have already donated £100 and about £150 of Lego sets.
As usual, a band of volunteers stepped up to help me put on a nice choice of baked delights. And as usual it really didn't last long!!
Having issues with photo uploads again :-(
The main thing to say is that we raised a grand total of.......
£260!!
Also like that there were some gluten free ones :)
@LostInTranslation - What a fine selection of cakes! Bet that lot went down a treat!
Well done for raising £260 too :-)
The cakes all look so delicious :-) Which ones were yours?
Good idea to do savory muffins too - they sound awesome!
Unfortunately we had no bakers this year, so it was just shop bought cakes.
We managed a decent amount and our full donation to Fairy Bricks was £218.50.
LUG Notts also made a donation to the Nottingham Children's Hospital play team.
Sounds yummy (and agree with the savoury option). My favourite cupcake is raspberry and white choc. Cut a bit out the middle of plain cupcake, fill with rasp jam and a few white choc chips. Mix some jam into the buttercream topping and sprinkle with some more choc chips, easy. The only thing that comes close is caramel crunch cupcakes :)
Just a side note for those with young children. Pick up the #10810 Duplo Push Train. Great value at £25 and so much play value as it comes with track and a level crossing.
thought it worth posting here to raise awareness. The sets were all the same - 40222 24 in 1 Christmas build up, so if you see anyone selling high volumes there’s a good chance they are stolen
So here we are.
I will be holding the Annual Cake sale at QMC this Friday 2nd of March.
I am hoping there will be a good turnout this year, but a lot of staff are Ill with flu and subsequent infections so we will have to wait and see. A small Lego Raffle should further aid Fairy Bricks and the Nottingham Children's Hospital.
There should also be a small donation of Lego to go directly to the Lego Club of the Hospital. :)
A visit to QMC is always a highlight though. On our most recent visit we were a even given some chocolates!
I have not yet had a chance to reconnect with the Play team myself due to busy work and a series of infections that have knocked me down, over the last couple of weeks.
Not sure yet whether I will be able to attend, but I will sure try. Last year's edition was fantastic :)
The Weather did not hold us back, but a few staff members who normally take part were missing this year.
Our Donation has been made to Fairy Bricks and our Lego donation will be delivered to the Hospital later next week, thanks to the folk at pathology and LUG Notts.
I didn't organise a Fairy Friday sale this year because I am just too busy at the moment to spare the time and couldn't take the extra stress of organising. Hoping to maybe do something else later in the year and come back to cakes next year.
Definitely attending Bricktastic 2018 though!
New members always welcome.
So hopefully we will match last year's donation. :)
