Double VIP points are Live on [email protected]

LegoKipLegoKip Member Posts: 259
What began as a rumor has proved to be true, at least for today.
On the US Shop at Home page, my shopping cart is showing double points! This may be running through the weekend, and if anyone can confirm, please do. I will find out if it's also in-store and will post here, unless another Bricksetter finds out first and would like to update the news.
How nice to receive two promotions together - double points and London Bus!

And if you haven't given to @Legoboy 's charity for Thames Hospice, you've missed the raffle but all donations are welcome and accepted up until The Walk in September. Details here: http://bricksetforum.com/discussion/24121/entry-closed-charity-fundraiser#latest and here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/James-Camplin

Seems to be true if you look at the Cart in Lego.ca... crap.. I order my GT3 yesterday... However, the VIP promotions page doesn't say anything, so they may say "sorry, it was a mistake, we're taking the points back"

I know this thread explicitely is about US/CA but for what it's worth, here in Germany there is double VIP points currently only for two (!) specific sets in August, nothing general.

@AustinPowers: Yes, we have listed under VIP promos double points for the following two Ninjago sets for the entire month of August:
    http://brickset.com/sets/70592-1/Salvage-M-E-C
    http://brickset.com/sets/70593-1

The double points I just found today are sitewide and seem to include everything - sale items, exclusives, etc.

Pre-Christmas in August; I can certainly live with that!

A word of warning--when I tried to check out using the "Pay with PayPal" button I was plunged into a neverending circle. Only emerged by giving up and starting over, this time using the ordinary "Checkout" button, which permitted me to use PayPal and complete my purchase quite happily. But at least the site was running!

So glad I placed two orders in the past week. Grr. I don't need a third London Bus kicking around, really. C'est la vie. Hopefully there will be more opportunities closer to the holidays.

    Crap I ordered on Tuesday.

Edit: I read the fine print on [email protected] homepage, and it says that double points start the 6th, so I guess they are starting a day early

Double VIP, free London bus, and free summertime Olaf! I'm in.  Are double VIP points offered in store as well?  I still have two calendar coupons for free nexo knights minifigs.

Double VP through midnight on the 8th. The details only show up on mobile, but you can see a screenshot here: http://i.imgur.com/6jPmrkql.png

Augh, money is tight right now, but the new Doc Strange and GR sets are available to purchase (well the GR set is on back order, but still can be bought).. May have to think about going to the LEGO store this weekend after all.

Money is tight as can be for me right now but I'm really interested in #42053 since Huw reviewed it.

I have some Christmas and birthday money laying around yet and I may be able to put that towards it. The London Bus is a nice freebie.

Between this and the bus, it was a good reason to order the modular bank.

Gonna see how in control I stay spending wise at Brickfair tomorrow before deciding whether or not to partake in double VIP.  As to what to buy, can't decide between new VW bug or Spider-Man Bridge Battle...  I think if I'm patient I'll be able to get Bridge Battle on sale, but I NEED that Scarlett Spider minifig!

Good timing... CMF Series 16 is back in stock. Ordering 19 will get you the bus as well.

Or 18 and a 5.99 Disney set to get the free Olaf in addition to the bus...

I saw the email, but I already spent my money on WalMart 50% clearance items. Likewise, an Amazon sale limited my ability to take advantage of the previous 'double VIP on everything' promotion. That's the deal I'm waiting for to get Brick Bank, maybe next time around.

I love stacking promos, would have done soemthing like that if I bought from [email protected] this month

I thought about buying that $5.99 Disney Princess set to get the free Olaf but I don't have much interest in either of them, especially the $5.99 set.  I already placed my order without them but I'm seriously second guessing doing so, even though it means spending money on something I don't really want.  The allure of a free set...  ARGH!

Is this just online or also at the stores?

I did it for the parts. Enough material to make it seem worthwhile

In this case, I figured ld use it as a gift for someone, like one of my friends' kids.

    Both.

Call ahead to make sure they have enough promos, just in case.

Not that they're going to run out but why waste your time to miss out on something if you can get it online.

Thanks for the heads up!  Pulled the trigger on 18 + the Disney Set to get the bus and the Olaf.  I feel much better getting these online rather than pulling from picked over boxes.

Even though it's now on sale for $7.99, the Nexo Knights Ultimate Lavaria #70335 is free with purchases $50 or more next month!

    (Offer valid 9/5-18)

Must be hardly selling at all!
  • KingAlanIKingAlanI Member Posts: 2,335
The Walmart near me had 70335 on clearance and they all went at 30% off.
  • SithLord196SithLord196 Member Posts: 1,161
I ended up pulling the trigger on that Volvo. Also grabbed the $5.99 Disney set for my fiance to get the Olaf one.

Double VIP was just icing on the cake for me

Nexo Knights Ultimate Builds were not a great idea out of the gate for wave 1.

Lego keeps trying to capture the magic of Ninjago spinners!

This reminds me of the free Chima sets that started to appear in my LEGO boxes with no warning or promotion.

Don't get me wrong, it was a nice surprise, and easily something I had no problem handing over to the kids.
  • SithLord196SithLord196 Member Posts: 1,161
I ended up with like 6 of those Chima sets. They really had to unload them.

Most of the Lego I bought during that were gifts for Christmas.
