My first set was 6071 Forestmen's Crossing. It's was (and still is) a fantastic set. Somehow after all these years I still have it in perfect condition.

^Always wanted that set. Hoping that the eBay gods will shine on me :). I do have the hideout (the one with the "rock" that moves). Loved the Forestmen as a kid.

My first Lego sets were for Christmas in 1981. I was very lucky to get 3 sets that year.

I still have there although some of the stickers for the Gas station and bus stop have been worn or missing. Parts are all complete except the black rope for the gas hoses.

I don't remember exactly what my first sets were but I had various BASIC, Fabuland, and space ones. However, I do remember the first one that I had paid for myself. It was 6319 - Cargo Center. For a few years, any spare change I had I put in a piggy bank. This was when I was from around 2 to 5 years old. At one point, the piggy bank was full (of pennies, nickels, and dimes, mostly) and we counted it. I can still clearly remember that there was nearly $40 in it and my dad saying he expected there to be $10 or so. I decided I would buy a Lego set, and this is the one I chose. Most of the pieces are probably still at my parents house, mixed in with dozens of other sets that my younger brothers and I accumulated over the years.

That's a tough one...I can remember the first set that I was super excited to get, 6396 International Jetport. However, I have several small sets that I received as a kid that pre-date that set (the oldest being 6381 Motor Speedway) that I probably got before...so the first set, I'm not entirely sure.

Props to the member that started this thread, it brings back so great memories, and memories of before Christmas and looking at LEGO catalogs and making out my Christmas list hoping I could get some of the bigger sets.

I don't remember exactly which one was first, but #6603 Shovel Truck is the earliest I remember.

For probably Christmas after that, the biggest set I remember (at least until getting #6990 Monorail in the late 80s) was #6386 Police Command Barracks. It was fantastic because both I and my brother had a motorcycle to play with *snicker*

As far as I can remember, it was #6384 Police Station, at Christmas 1984. My sister got #6374 Holiday Home at the same time, and we both got smaller sets too IIRC.

Might have been black seas barracuda? At the age of 4 or 5 it's hard to remember anything but the big stuff.. I'm sure there were other smaller or less known sets before this.

Aside from possibly having a basic brick set, I think the first set I had was #3669 Fabuland Fire Station. The first set I remember opening and building was #6803 Space Patrol.

Mine was the plane carrying a space shuttle, still got the bits and instructions to make it but I just don't think I have the will power to dig it out of the cases of Lego I have stored in bedroom.

The first one I clearly remember was #6368 - my grandparents took me to ToysRUs while my brother was being born, so I would have been 3 years old. The reason I remember is because, on discovering I wasn't getting the baby sister I really wanted, I showed no futger interretreated under the hospital bed to start building the set... :)

I got my first set from my sis when I was 4 or 5 for my birthday. I cant remember which Bday it was but I do know it was before I started kindergarten. It was a Tipper truck like the #612 set from 1974 but it was all blue and bought around 79-80. I still have the dump bed part of the truck and prolly all the other pieces as well since they are standard bricks. The printing on the "grille" is long gone.

Ever since this thread was started 2 years ago, I have tried to remember my first set. I can't do it. I have tried to pull out every memory I have and it's just not there. So, I will venture a guess and say that it was either #420 #450 or #460. I had all of those sets and plenty more, but those seem the oldest from memory.

I do remember my last set though. Both of my grandparents had died that year and I got this for Xmas. #404

First Lego set was the Intercoastal Seaport(6541). i'd have been around 8 or 9.

Mine was the 6375 Exon Gas Station. Dang, that was a long time ago. My mom told me she got me into Lego, because she wanted to get me toy that for the most part was indestructable and one I could build and play with over and over again. I was not too keen on the City sets, I really loved the Space sets. I remember after looking at the Lego Idea Book (Bill and Mary) I wanted the 487 Space Crusier so bad! Needless to say I never got it as a kid. Sad story I know. It was only $10.00 at the time..sheesh. Now that I am older (recently come out of my Dark Ages), and a O/T Star Wars nut so I tend to go overboard at times on buying sets.

Wow I wish I was old enough to appreciate the old Castle/town/space sets, some for which I wasn't even born for! But my first set was when I saw the Star Wars films in 2006 and my first set was #6205 V-Wing and I got a couple from then til 2010 and got ALL Harry Potters from 2010-2011, and then that just blossomed into the 324 sets and counting I own today!

I was at the beginning of the Duplo period, so I think mine was #532. The earliest system set I remember is #452, which I still have, although it looks seriously warn. Why didn't brick separators get invented earlier??

The first set I got was, as far as I can remember, set #911 Advanced basic set. I was probably around 5 or 6 and it was a Christmas Present.. I don't have the set any more, or not that I'm aware of but my mum reckons there's a big bucket of Lego in the house somewhere and if there is the majority of the set, minus base plate as I know it got snapped in 2, is probably in that bucket somewhere and covered in teeth marks. I figured it was this set because of the winder on the crane and I remember the tracks too that it was on although I don't remember much more other than I also got a meccano set but much preferred the Lego. I also had #107 Motor set and remember the plate and the tracks as well as the bulky motor as well although I never seemed to have batteries for it.

I'm pretty sure this was mine, it's the one I remember the best and the one I rebuilt first when I came out of my dark ages. There were other classic space sets but I'm going to plant my flag and claim its this one!

Pretty sure my first set was
#6080 King's Castle. I think my sister had some of the smaller classic space sets before that, but this was *my* first set. It was amazing!!

I remember feeling like it was quite a substantial set to build at the time, and would regularly dismantle and rebuild.

My very first Lego exactly remember owning is: Sirius Black's Escape (4753) however I do remember owning Lego Dulpo and basic bricks.
