    The info doesn't say the piece-count, but I don't see how that's worth $45. :(

While I get that this has a large audience, to me, it seems like a very strange set release when the Adventure Time dimensions packs have only just been announced and they fit in better with the normal Lego system of building.
I do like the ingenuity of brick built figures, and these are definitely well done, but personally I prefer the Dimensions versions of them.

Yes, it's also disappointing that they left out almost half of the figures from the original submission.  I'm sure that was to hit a price point, but it may further limit sales to those that voted for it.

did bricks in flesh color exist before? or maybe that's just tan
  • fourstudfourstud Member Posts: 1,370
    Yeah that's tan unfortunately.

Since the kids and I are all big fans of Adventure Time, I'll definitely buy this, but I would much prefer the tree house with Adventure Time minifigures that I saw as a rejected idea as opposed to brick built figures.

Has a lot fewer figures than the idea set

I knew this set was going to be no good... Even though I watch the show, I've no interest in this set. The only useful thing is that Rainicorn seems to be minifig scale almost, which makes her not fit in with this set...

BMO is a little disappointing, but overall it's pretty cool. I'll definitely be picking it up when it's available.

    OVER PRICED!.
    Why over priced.
    £25 maybe on a good day, £30.
shore a hell not $50. or what ever it going to be in £.

I'm not familiar with the source material so that probably affects my opinion of this set, but it seems really uninteresting. I don't like the brick built figures especially since several of them will be available in minifigure format. This seems pointless and juvenile, not to mention expensive.

    I'm definitely skipping this one.

Looks like they are going for the kids vote on this one. It seems to be aimed at the youngest demographic of all the ideas sets (so far).
  • monkyby87monkyby87 Member Posts: 316
The brick built works for the subject matter I feel like, especially given the shapes, but as a result they look like something a kid would make from their collection, not Lego designers.  Also because of that it seems really expensive.  I would say $30 or less.

    i dislike this set.

    also WHATS ADVENTURE TIME ?
  • leetshoeleetshoe Member Posts: 262
Adventure Time is a cartoon that is very popular with mid 20 year olds. As a mid 20 year old, l love it

@leetshoe I just started getting back into the show myself, I watched it when it started back in 2010, but kinda lost track. The show actually has a much deeper story than I expected and a whole different theme then expected. I love post-apocalyptic stuff, so I'll give the show a thumbs up, this set, I'm giving a thumbs down, except Lady Rainicorn as I can use it for my minifg scale stuff.

yeah l'm not in love with the set but l'll still probably get it to put the figures on my desk at work

Give it a couple weeks before the discount.  Then maybe I'll pick it up......if, 50% off.

anyone willing to take bet's on how long a run this set gets?
i am going to say a 6 month run.
  • mpfirnhabermpfirnhaber Member Posts: 65
Before any more of you AFOLs bash this set, you should stop to consider the fact that you're probably not the audience that Lego had in mind when they put this together.

    It's a children's toy building set based on a children's cartoon.

^ This is an AFOL messageboard.  Of course we are going to be hyper-critical of sets that do not interest us.

If I were a fan of the show, these look like reasonable buildable representations of the main characters.

(I'm not, so this set doesn't interest me a bit.  I hold a similar opinion of Minecraft.)

^^ Doesn't stop it being ugly. They are pretty low poly bag quality whatever way you look at them and what ever rose tinted glasses you're wearing.

I normally enjoy cartoons etc that are pretty immature but I just don't get Adventure Time, tried a couple of times but nope. Even if I liked the show I don't think I'd like this set. The characters just look far too blocky and could almost certainly be done a lot better.

I'm not a fan - I feel like the majority of the toons on Cartoon Network are really meant for groups of college kids who are stoned out of their minds.  Adventure Time, Uncle Grandpa, Steven Universe, Regular Show, etc. They do nothing for me and I normally love animated shows.

    ren and stimpy ...  cat-dog ...

however. i remember a cartoon from my childhood. there was a dog with exceptional laughter. his dude did wear a purple top hat . they did also make a space race against the jetsons and jogi bear... dat dog !

I've bought numerous sets not knowing anything about the show/story they were based on.  This simply just does not appeal!  I wish it did I have for the most part loved Lego Ideas and love the concept.

I have no idea how to even begin to contemplate why this would be desirable by anyone.  It looks like a MOC some kid put together with his spare LEGO pieces

But I have never seen or heard of Adventure Time.
I think it needs a helicopter or a lighthouse.

Not just any sausage, black sausage.

I like Adventure Time, I would've been thrilled with just a biiiiiig Lady Rainicorn to go with the minifigures that will be in Dimensions.

Slightly odd that the black sausage is the same size as the nougat, everyone knows that black sausages are considerably bigger.

That's about right for an ideas set, although it obviously depends on speed of sales. A good seller could be out longer if they keep making them. A poor seller could be out longer if sales are slow.

^ Maybe they'll announce a 'de-commision date' when the set is released?
