^^ The best bit is her celebrity hand. It's really her. Fantastic stuff! That montage is so good she's going to have to post it again at the top of page 7, I reckon.

I also liked how she tiled all the prizes and prize groupings which meant that naturally the words autographed tile by Chris McKay became a tile. Very clever stuff.

So folks buy tickets! Let's shoot for £3000!

Thanks all for your donations today.  You're really making a difference.  I'll be in contact with ticket numbers this evening.

Been a busy day, what with seeing the foot consultant and earning a living.

    Thanks everyone.

A small update following my visit to the doc's today.

Not surprising, he had no notes or any clue why I was there
I'm sure I've seen him as well ;-)

Hooray! Managed! It was still a bit funky though. To start with the percentage raised total kept flickering from -1.0 to -2.9, constantly. Then after a refresh I had to edit the Url to clear a cookie that kept being set, but after that it was plain sailing. Good luck @Legoboy! And well done everyone for raising so much!

@Huw It really is, isn't it!

Please can we get the montage of the prize pool onto the front page:

Brickset, a community we can all be proud to be part of.
and there's still time to get tickets for the raffle!

    Let's smash £5000 everybody, ok?

At least now you know whether you finish or not is down to your mind, your doctor is on your side.

Just pick a point in the distance and challenge yourself to get there, let the good memories flow and keep plodding along to the next point.

Good excuse for a day at the table building LEGO after, got to rest your feet, doctor's orders.

Sold some mixels as well so topped up the funds on justgiving page.

The total raised thus fair is incredible; what a wonderful community we have right here, contributing money and Lego for a wonderful charity.

I hope you can reach the £5k milestone, if so consider that 1% to be from me (£50 donated), I wish it could be more if funds allowed me to but I suppose every little helps. :-D

    Wow!!
Incredible amount of money raised in honour of an incredible lady. What a fantastic community we have here. @Legoboy I know I don't need to say it but your mum would be so very very proud. Well done buddy. For every single one of you that have donated money or prizes or both I hope your feeling great about what we have all managed to achieve for such a worthy charity.

    Sitting there brickin' it.
I love the fire escape just before the painful operation room. If you get cold feet, just make a run for it out the fire exit! ;)

@Legoboy Happy to read that your doctor was not sugar-coating the shockwave treatment, as I'm currently having this for my arms I can confirm it is extremely painful. On par with getting cortisone injections in the palm of my hand. All for making your feet better though and getting you to complete your 100km walk!

Maybe someone can do a MOC of the machine for you.
I would try but I am hopeless.

Sounds like you might have to open another raffle for all of your medical bills when you're all done...

I just got to donating, was planning on it a few days ago but I was on my phone and had forgotten by the time I got to the computer. It'd be nice to get another news post on the front page for the final day (tomorrow?)

The Plantar Fasciitis is a bigger problem which is a pretty acute case I'm told.  Yes, he made me scream.  He's prescribed fortnightly sessions of shockwave treatment in each foot and warned it was an extremely painful procedure but was a necessity if I was to at least take the edge off in time for the big day.

He then referred me to a Podiatrist to have my gait measured, orthotics and boots checked and new ones made and bought if necessary.
My wife is a Podriatrist, plantar fascistis can lead to lower and upper leg muscle problems, as the fascia muscles swelling makes you step in an inappropriate way, so you overload other leg muscles and ligaments, and the inflammation keeps going up till even your hip  may also be affected.

A biomechanical analysis of your step (I am not sure if I am translating this appropriately from Spanish) will tell your Podiatrist if you need just rest or a tailor-made orthosis for your footwear.

    Good luck.

    Regards

I'm really not looking forward to it.  The physio made me jump of the bed with pain when she first assessed my left foot today.  The thought of someone hammering it with a baton scares the hell out of me.  I almost wish the doctor had sugar-coated it, just to get me through the week.

Cortisone injections have become second nature over the past year - meh.  ;)  These were my left wrist and right thumb over the past 15 months and the main reason for igoring The Walk lat year.  Lol, one week after Mum died this happened.  It's fair to say I've had a rough time of it recently but it's a good job I don't have to handwalk 100km.  :)

You're a badass. And the People of Brickset are amazing people. And I'm due for a raise at work so I need to do my part to get to £5K. Another £10.00  from me, went through justgiving, hope that works or worked.
