Surely that's not it! Sorry to boast, but took my son 40 minutes, been registered and planningsince October, apparently all sold out in 55!
Was hoping to find someone else going and/or some info other than what's on line.

I was curious how many copies can someone pick up of the small sets that sell around $40 at San Diego Comic Con such as Action Comics #1 and Throne of Ultron? It would be cool is someone was kind enough to purchase them for us in the UK. Although I have a feeling it's one per set per person :/

If you can 'qualify' for a 'draw' in line on the day, which is an invite to the Lego booth, you can buy one of any . Upto now I can't get anybody to answer these bits, I think it's due to them changing the method each year. I do know they only have 1,000 exclusives and only release 250 per day. And never release them later on line as you know. Which is what some of the big companies do to clear stock, some are quite famous for it, disgusting in my opinion.
It does seem that some people do pick up quite an arm full of Lego while there, so fingers crossed, a lot has gone into my plan, just to pick up a mini fig!

Pleased to hear someone got tickets! three of us have been trying for the last few years and had no luck... The worst of those was the year we had already decided to go to the states and we were in SD ticketless during The Con.....

Sorry to hear that, especially being there at the time. Our trip is just based on the event, and only took off when we hit on the passes. Just getting them has been a nightmare, they will only post domestic, and we don't want to get in line for them. So it was change address to a Texas friend, and they have Fedex'ed them, hopefully in hand tomorrow! After all this, we'll probably kop for an SDCC exclusive 'sticker', or maybe a carrier bag or two!

My advice would be to bring protection... a small rigid box with bubble wrap for your SDCC minifig should you be fortunate to get one during give away. I've dinged a few bubble cases because I stuffed them in my backpack. Invest in a portable stool because the concrete ground is not soft. Bring an external battery charger and sun screen.

Go as a group. Better to buy from a friend than some random person online.

    Park and ride the trolley.

Advice taken, solar panel charger is on its way! We're staying right in the Gas lamp, so hopefully not too much travel! I've heard the line up scenario is changing again this year, can't plan for everything.
    Thanks.

I wouldn't be surprised if the line up scenario is changing again, but where did you hear that? I think they've done a good job the past couple of years with set and minifigure give aways by using the iPad to 'randomize' the give away. Also the location is away from the busy exhibit hall so I hope the site is similar. Nothing could be worse than 2013 in terms of scarcity and distribution of the minifigures. 2014 was terrible for the mini-sets since the exhibitors had inside access. 2015 was fair.

Didn't know it was away from exhibit hall. I think my info may relate to how the main line splits into several different ones before entering, but as you know, bits of info/rumours are not as good as proper experiences, hard to work anything out being first timers!

Oh... you are referring to the lines for Hall H and the line for everything else... Hall H is definitely something to experience that is for sure. The line for everything else includes the exhibit hall, autographs, Hasbro shopping tickets (I now wait until Sunday to buy from Hasbro), Ballroom panels, and the chance to get Lego exclusive sets.

The past few years, the Lego drawings have been outside upstairs at the Sails Pavilion. Lego booth is in the middle of the Exhibit Hall on the main floor. Various Lego panels are usually scattered throughout the day.

Keep in mine that the convention center from end to end is about 0.5 mile and entrance are far and few. Each day I estimate I walk about 4 miles. If you plan to attend Hall H, plan to stay there the entire day and 'camp' the night before.

I assume you've visited http://sdccblog.com/ which is a great resource for all Comic Con related.

Yes thanks, I'm on the blog all the time for info. Would like to do Hall H but only got passes for thu/Fri, will see what happens. Looking to do some small panels like Jim Lee (DC) big fan of his work, and obviously chase the Lego! My son is looking at having a portfolio review by the big boys, as he's a fairly gifted artist, obviously just for the feedback and experience.
