Hello from Max in Germany

MaxBMaxB Member Posts: 8
I am Max from Germany. Since one year and half I have been working part time in Discovery Centre and shop part time. I have not been such a LEGO fan until Die Mannschaft minifigures and I have been an enthusiastic collector of those. This is such a great series for my team and my country and has interested me more in LEGO building for fun. Since the meantime I built the Parisian Restaurant and will now be a collector of modular buildings when I can afford to do so.

    Welcome to the forum Max!

It's interesting that the DFB figures were the trigger to becoming an AFOL particularly as you had a lot of exposure to LEGO working at the LDC.

Welcome Max, I too find it interesting that you work at LDC and was not a huge Lego fan.  It is good that the DFB has stimulated your interest, but maybe not too good for your bank balance.  Modulars are great to collect but I suggest not going back to collect the out of production ones as they tend to bit a little bit expensive.

If you have any DFB swaps then the Marketplace will gladly welcome you as the figures are not widely available.

Working at LEGO Discovery Centre is not always so creative for the building as people expects. I work in birthday party room often and some times in the cinema. More times there is much picking of bricks from the floor after the children left.

Welcome! You'll note if you look in the marketplace that the DFB series has been quite popular with Lego fans all around the world, not just in Germany. Lego certainly made a winner there.

It's interesting to hear about working at the LDC. I guess clearing up after kids can put a different view on Lego compared to what most fans have. Although if it is anything like the mess at the pick-a-brick wall in Lego stores, I have to admit that sometimes adults can be responsible for the mess too!

We are too having adults with children in Discovery Centre.

My plan for future is to get to working most of times in the Modellbau Workshop which is building region in where children learn about building the bricks and parts. This is where I can learn and teach new ideas. Perhaps I can become the Master Builder who is chief there in future.

I am reading Brickset well as you have many interesting ideas here. The father of children that visit on Saturday inform about it to me.

I am some small Bag Sets I can give to members. These do not fit in my collection.

30278: Poe's X-Wing Fighter from new Star Wars
5004406: First Order General from new Star Wars
    30447: Captain America's Motor Cycle
No nummer: Dr Wu from Jurassic World Movie

I have 4 of the Star Wars each type and 3 of the Captain America and 1 of Dr Wu.

Is there the best method to give these to the members?

Take a look at the weekly raffles @bendybadger does. Those sorts of things are always quite fun.

I've usually heard it the other way around, people are interested in Die Mannschaft BECAUSE of the Lego series. ha ha.

If you can give some sort of proof or feedback of some sort, I'm sure members would be happy to trade with you for something you would rather have in your collection.
