Why?  Because he wrote the 30,400th comment?  If that was 50,000, then maybe.

oh good point. I misread it. Get to reading @MaffyD!

I gave up on that thread. There are 2.2K 'new' posts I have not read yet.
    Besides...
I am not a reseller anyway. I collect what I like, not what may be the next UCS MF in terms of resale value. If I happen to have it in my collection because I like it as a set 'more power to me' if not, no biggie!

I think the historic milestone is that someone finally took a screenshot with their battery over halfway charged. I didn't think it possible...

Well, after the @Pitfall69 fiasco, I just couldn't risk it with anything less!

Sorry @Bumblepants - I didn't make the milestone very clear, did I? And there's no way I'm reading that lot, unless it all gets deleted and I get a synopsis from @MattsWhat. And even then, probably not!

I think a few posts in that thread may even be about discontinuing sets and their secondary market value!

Am I in charge of synopses now? Pressures on then...
I vaguely remember someone mentioning #10188 as retiring soon at some point, not sure if that's happened yet. Also, I think that all modular buildings are worth at least 5x retail (including the 2017 sausage factory). And MS is worth 5x less as it's not a modular. Finally a re-release of #10179 is going to hurt the value of religious business cards.

Urk. For some reason, I was reading the quality issues/broken parts thread for the first time last week and I hadn't looked at the dates (I did think it was a long thread for only a few days worth of posts though). So what for you was a post back in January (http://bricksetforum.com/discussion/comment/407865/#Comment_407865) was for me a post from last week (took me ages to find that just now - search is actually useless). And so I thought my comment was far more relevant and timely than it actually was. And now the mantle of Synopsiser* has been bequeathed to you! :-)

I'll take either Synopser Prime or Synopsitron.

1.8m new comments on a thread of only 30.5k comments... that's impressive.

^^I've never intentionally sought out that thread, and yet I have "read" it. Why? Stupid mobile site jumps up and down while loading...

^this is true, but it only wipes off 50 per accidental click as all the other pages remain unread.  Factor in a couple of those, it's still quite easy to get to this number.  My 'uninterested' thread is 'your status today' one, never read it other than accidental clicks and it's currently on 1000s of unread.

A more fun game is to clickbait him to #latest:
Hey look at this @MaffyD : Really exciting stuff you really shouldn't click...

I'm not on mobile, but some sites do that, right when you click, the whole page scrolls down so that you end up hitting a link to an ad...
(I know, I should get adblock, but hey I'm not bothered enough most of the time, or I just close the site)

If you thought I'd fall for reverse psychology double think, you must understand that I can hover over a link you sneaky so-and-so! :-)

^that was only the warning shot.  Surely you don't have time to hover over every link you find on the internet...
    Mwahahahaha
Plus, I have a very particular set of skills. (Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you)

Edit: I actually felt a little mean for a second, then I realised you had 1,000 unread posts on a random internet forum - not exactly wiping away one of man's greatest achievments.

Just showing off with my battery charge. But let down with just 4.5k. Do I win anything?

16.5M views, 30,000 comments. If we assumed that each view took an average of 1 minute and lets go crazy and completely ignore the time spent thinking and writing 30,000 comments, that's a total of 11458 days solid or over 31 years solid for one person reading that thread. If it was their job, working an average of 1800 hrs per year, it would equate to 152 years of continuous employment. Even if we thought that 1 minute was too long and said 10 seconds per view on average, its still 25 years of employment. Taking an average UK salary of £26,500 thats £674,768 (and just over £4,000,000 at a 1 minute average).

I also have a particular set of skills: Skills that your nightmares can only cower in fear of: http://www.trueurl.net/?q=http://tinyurl.com/z3np5xp&lucky=on&Uncloak=Find+True+URL

    Also, I don't think you're mean either - I don't really consider this a milestone. :-)

Not at 10:43 in the morning you don't! Show me again at 10 p.m. and I might be impressed. (Still wouldn't be able to give you a prize - sorry).

    Ooh ooh! Another milestone :

Not really a milestone, but there's a numerical elegance to 60000 bricks. And bang on the 10 cents per piece average (to 3 significant figures anyway).

[Usual caveats about piece counts and prices not being complete here]

Holy crap! I never noticed that the predictions thread has 16.5 million views! Can we say that it's gone viral yet?
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,537
^Viral implies it is spreading rapidly across the web. The predictions thread is more along the lines a really large tumor deeply rooted within Brickset.
