B&N definitely showing rookie signs of this Lego giveaway stuff.

I just went to my closest B&N over lunch.  Walked by the desk and saw a basket under register which appeared to have the Mine Worker in it.  Went back to the Lego aisle and there were about 3 signs advertising the giveaway.  Brickheadz were 20% off so I grabbed 4 different ones I've been wanting to get me over the $30 threshold.  Lady range them up at 20% off and my 10% discount.  I asked if I would get the figure being over $30.  She had no clue.  Where did I see that?  I said on the posted signs.  She disappears and comes back a couple minutes later with one of the signs.  Rings a manager.  Manager knew immediately what it was.  He rings someone else.  Where are they?  Upstairs?  Then he turns around looking and sure enough, grabs said basket and pulls one out.

So then I asked the lady if I could buy any.  She scans it and says with my 10% they are $1.14.  Yes!  I was tempted to grab a bunch, but I just got 4 more to cover my family and have an extra.  So yes apparently you can buy them for $1.27 list price.  So I got 4 $10 Brickheadz, 1 $15 Brickheadz, and 5 Kessel Mine Workers for $36.92 plus tax.

If you want one GO NOW!.  I predict 1 of 3 things will happen shortly.  B&N will wise up and either jack up the price (probably the $5.99 mentioned) or they will stop selling them.  Or resellers will quickly swoop in an grab all for $1.14 a piece.

Stopped in at one today. I saw no signage about the free polybag, and I found exactly one lego item on the 75% off table - #41603 Kylo Ren.

Went to a local Barnes and Noble (well kinda local, it was about 20 minutes away) and no signage and the girl at the counter looked at me as if I was speaking neptunian when I asked about the poly offer.

^And that's why I just ordered online. Besides my local LEGO Store, no one gives a crap anymore. Good customer service is hard to find today. Can't tell you how many stores I've been to that when you asked about something in their add they give you a blank look or no nothing about.

Lucky for me, there was a box with a lego logo behind the counter although the cashier lady did walk past it 4-5 times when I tried to point it out to her.

Yeah, I checked online, and glad I did as they have TLBM Justice League Anniversary party set for only 20.99, so I got two of those and it threw in the Kessel mine worker. I wanted at least one, I may still go and hit up the store again to see if I can get a couple of extras, but I think Ill phone first this time.

Did you ask for the Mine worker at the front desk? I'm interested in buying some for myself.

I asked at my store yesterday, and they said they cannot sell them separately. He did say at least at least at my store if they have any after the promo ends they may be able to sell them. He also was aware of the HP bricktober set but he said he doesn't know when stores will get them and he's not 100% sure if that location will get them because they are a smaller store.

I went by my local store a couple days ago. I walked around and didn't see the mine worker anywhere so I asked one of the employees. She found them behind the front counter and was able to sell them for around $1.50 each. I only bought a couple, just glad I didn't pay up on eBay earlier for one.

Super frustrated by the $ off $25 at BN and $10 gc with $50 purchase at Target.

Have placed three separate orders: 2 at Target and then 1 at BN.

All three orders, though their websites said the items were in stock, were only able to fulfill them partially.

So no $5 off nor $10 gc.

Such a hassle to cancel especially when you use PayPal.

Unless I missed something, no one knows yet.  But I'd definitely call first even when a date is announced to make sure your store has them.

Yeah same by the one store that had them that we went to. I got one, but only one AND I had to argue with the guy behind the counter (He thought it was 30 USD, not 29.95-even though his register said 29.95 gets the promo AND that it could be ANY LEGO set, like their shelf markers say)

Today's stacking sale was great, got Ninjago City Docks for $150+tax. The code F4W4A8A is 20% off one item, stacks with the $5 off $25, think it ends Sunday, most good stuff it gone, but they still have Saturn V and Old Fishing Store.
Bad news for me though, I was about 10 minutes late in ordering because the Solo Kessel worker poly was out of stock online so now I'm out of luck....

So they run out of promos online and the stores are selling the promos outright before the deal is even over?

Thanks for that code! By the time I looked, the expensive stuff I want was all gone, but they did have the Ship in a Bottle so I put that in my cart. The Kessel Mine Worker showed up but it said they were OOS online. No sign of the $5 off $25. I thought maybe I needed to sign in and use my membership, but after doing that and trying to check out, the site just froze up on a blank page - three times! Finally by logging out and refilling my cart, I was able to check out and with a $24 discount, even though the cart showed the price marked down from $69.99 to $55.99. So I apparently got it for $45.99. (Is that the 5 off 25, twice?) Now I’m just waiting for an email confirmation that the order really went through. The order confirmation page is still showing the spinner.
  • AstrobricksAstrobricks Member Posts: 5,567
^ And I just did the same with the Great Wall of China architecture set. That was just under $50 original price, so I got the coupon code discount and an additional $5 off, so $34.99. Still waiting for confirmation emails.

Thanks for the code. Since everything stacks it esentially turns whatever your buying into an almost 35% discount. Which was good enough for me. Now I'm just waiting on confirmation emails so I can go pickup my stuff, hopefully they'll throw in a Kessel Mine Worker, if not I'll ask for them.

Yeah I would've tried pickup but nowhere carries the docks... Let me know how it goes @lcdo_figueroa I'm still contemplating a Saturn V purchase..

Creator expert Big Ben #10253 is $84.99 off $249.95 with the above discounts. It's one of the few big sets left.  For those on the fence that is a really good discount.  Although there is a $4.99 shipping charge.  Presumably because of size.

It worked. Went in and saw my order behind the counter. Asked about the Mine worker, (since they had banners everywhere) cashier said yes he believes it would qualify but called for a manager to confirm, after looking around since it was a "new" promotion they didn't know where the product was. I asked about buying the Mine worker individually, but the cashier hesitated with a yes answer (never attempted to scan the Mine Worker), I said it was fine since I was getting that one for free and one was enough, in reality would have loved to get another to attempt a trade for the Mud Trooper, but maybe I'll try later with another cashier.

I bought one from behind the counter. While it scanned at a price around $1.27 like others had said, the manager read the slip that it was a $5.99 retail value and adjusted the price accordingly. Still not bad for being able to buy it outright.

They didn't even let me buy it for $6, oh well. May try to order a Saturn V for pickup tomorrow, not sure.

Just a heads up, it appears there are double deals going on right now with B&N that apply to Lego. Codes F4W4A8A and N4Y59EZ4ZQ8X4 double stack.

The HP Great Hall was to be had for $65 last night. Not sure if it's still working. YMMV.
  • CaptainRogersCaptainRogers Member Posts: 869
Man, every Lego set I click on says "This item is currently not eligible for coupon promotions". I even tried putting them in the cart and applying the promo code - no cigar.

Looks like they caught on.  I was able to use the double coupons for the Great Hall as well as couple other sets yesterday.  Still bummed I missed out on the Ninjago Dock ....again!

Where are these codes coming from?
  • Switchfoot55Switchfoot55 Member Posts: 3,492
A friend of mine directed me to a parent/kids based Facebook page that had the first code. The second code was directly from B&N on their website.

If you use the Honey extension for Chrome, the first code popped up in there, too, when on the Barnes and Noble website. Thanks to this code and the 5 off of 25 that they had going on, I went from, "Man, September and October are going to be quiet LEGO months for me," to "I don't think I'm allowed to buy any more LEGO in 2018."

I was placed in that group of people when a big box from Target was found outside. 🙃

I missed out on that second code, what did it do?

Managed to grab the Hogwarts Great Hall and Hogwarts Express, plus the discounted Batman Scuttler on Monday.

Though the free Kesser mine worker is OOS, still happy with the purchase as it works out to be 40% off my local SRP price (even including the shipping cost).

The second code was 15% off any one item.
The f4w4a8a code was 20% off one item, and you had to place a bunch of single orders to get it to apply to each item after the 5 off of 25. At some point this week, there will be an obnoxious number of boxes on my porch ( @lcdo_figueroa my wife will have some questions about my choices, no doubt), to go with the pick-up bags already inside. Some people in the NW suburbs of Chicago might be getting some deals from me when I start wondering what I will be doing with, say, 5 Great Halls...

I also wish I didn't go into panic mode when ordering using random discounts because 1) I would have remembered to post here about the deal and 2) I would have added a HP CMF to each Great Hall order to get another 5 off 25, which would make the figures free.

No details needed?  You get an item no one has, or knows when will even be sold, for a ridiculous price and not tell anybody the how/when/where?  I mean you don't have to tell us, I see how it is.  :-(
