Can anyone identify what looks like a Jurassic theme in the last photo?

I can't seem to find the two Ninjago sets either.

The Dino set is 5885: Triceratops Trapper. One of my biggest regrets.

I don't see Ninjago, but I do see Chima (both first year, a lion attack tank and an eagle tank.)
  • TheMaker37TheMaker37 Member Posts: 496
Thanks @SprinkleOtter I got Ninjago confused with Chima, two themes I don't collect.

i dont know about you, but i would have started a new brickset account on the main page, so i could crate a new list of own sets, just for this task, so i could easily see what set's i had.

this task is a epic task, hell there may be parts to the set's you found up to now in box's that are yet to be opened.
i dont know if i could do this. i shore as hell know i dont have the room to do it.

having said that, i shore as hell like to own all that lego.
and i am shocked that you are still sorting it after all this time.

^^I would say my organisational skills are above average. I have built houses from the ground up. Ordering materials and coordinating when they should be delivered so that you don't get a log jam is critical. Since I am somewhat of a Luddite I have detailed lists of every set, completed ones and ones missing pieces or MF's. All things missing are duly noted.

I have been somewhat impressed with my memory though. When I was picking through the loose pieces at the bottom of the box I immediately zoomed in on two pieces which went to a set I went through about two weeks ago.

This has been a challenge but at least now the end is near. I really hope I don't have a huge Bricklink ordered when all the Legos have been gone over.

On to the last cardboard box, still have 3 plastic bins to go through one is massive measuring over four feet long and filled with many sets broken up, that will be last. I like the castle in this box but the rest seems rather lackluster to me.

@natro220 A lack of story whatsoever?

I suppose now a days that's a requirement to engage young minds.  Space sets didn't really need a pre-set story when I was growing up...but I realize things change.

@TheMaker37 Have you started selling sets from your find yet?  I'd be curious to see what your profit ends up being after all of your hard work.  It's fulfilling to have it be all worth while in the end, I've been able to take advantage of a couple finds of this caliber and it's thrilling once it's all said and done.

@natro220 have not sold any sets yet, at least half of the sets have a few missing pcs or a MF, the other half is complete. I am waiting until I am 100% complete before I have to start selling, so that I don't have to work in going to the Post office along with sorting, building and all my other responsibilities.

As far as profit, I haven't added up all the ones I have priced yet but I do believe that I will make a modest profit, plus I have so far removed 5 sets from circulation for my collection and maybe more when it is all over. I hope they sell well, I have discounted every set and sometimes deeply.

just want to chime in and indicate that a few of those sets have my attention, once you get to the selling stage of course. it looks like you still have a ways to go but I have to say I am envious of your haul. can't wait to see the final list from this project!
  • TheMaker37TheMaker37 Member Posts: 496
I decided to dig into the very large bin as I believe it holds many missing things I need to complete sets, this will be the hardest because many sets have broken into multiple sections and pieces. I will post pics this weekend when I lay them out, I'm sure I will need help identifying some.

^ Couple large Mars Missions, some Atlantis, Power Miners, and Space Police III.
I'd be interested in the Mars Mission if you are interested in selling.

But it's all one word! That doesn't make sense. Minecraft - my spell checker knew it. It wouldn't autocorrect to Mindcraft as that's not a word!
Mind storms on the other hand has to be two words for my predictive keyboard to work. Then remove the space: Mindstorms.

@TheMaker37 For starters, that huge green wheel is found in only two sets. If you've got one, it's 8709; if four, 8108.
  • TheMaker37TheMaker37 Member Posts: 496
Just cleared out the box, I have identified all the sets. It is a total mess, there are easily 1000 loose pcs at the bottom of the bin. Gonna take some time.

Thanks for sharing this, I'd love to know where you ended up? Did you a managed to keep many sets after recovering your investment? Also, any insights to why the original owner decided to sell it?

The original owner was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis or scoliosis I believe.  Very sad situation.  (Its at the beginning of the thread somewhere).

Very early in this thread @sklamb suggested a lottery for popular sets. The only really desirable set in this collection I think is #10190 . It is complete except two items I will BL next week. I have the box which is in fair condition and the manual also in fair condition(completely intact). After much internal debate I have decided to sell this at what I think is a great price. $425.

So I ask everyone this. Does this set at this price bring enough interest to make a lottery so that everyone interested gets a fair chance.

    Please give me your opinions.

I was also going to give a great price on #10188 but after reading opinions on the latest one I don't get the sense it is extremely desirable.

Look forward to your responses. Thanks

@TheMaker37 $425 sounds like a steal! A lottery is a great idea for those who wish to buy it (which would definitely include me if I had that kind of money lying around).

Is it possible to post pics of the box and manuals so we can get a better idea of their condition please?
