"General"?

davee123davee123 USAMember Posts: 804
So... maybe I never noticed it before, but there's a specific forum for "General", with a single post in it now?  I can't post to that group by default (I think I might be able to guess how to finagle it to post there, but I won't), should the BrickFest post that's there now be moved to "Community & Events"?  Or is posting to "General" going to start being a thing?  If so, what's the differentiation between "General" and "Everything Else LEGO"?

Yeah, my mobile version shows me the same thing-- a forum called "General" with a single thread in it, above all the other "General" sub-forums.

I guess I'm assuming that @brickerone added this post in a non-standard manner, and it shouldn't be in that forum category.  But asking just in case.

Not sure what happened there. General is a category header, like Shopping and Brickset, so it shouldn't be possible to post to it. I've moved the discussion to Community and Events, and the balance of the force has been restored.

^Generally speaking, a general general thread, will be way too general. Even a general, when and if you can find one, I am sure, will concur with that generalisation.

I'm waiting for a Specific General thread.

(Where we can discuss Grievous, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Motors, amongst others.)

^you're thinking of the Specific Generals thread.
Im looking forward to the Specific General's thread (and I checked - no one has that username).
But really not looking forward to the Specific Genitals thread.  (The General Genitals thread on the other hand...)

Hi all, I delete that post because I was afraid of the response I would get and didn't want to derail this thread.

I don't find the likes/comments funny as it feels to me like you are laughing at me rather than with me.

Sorry if this is not the case but thanks for your understanding.

This might be a be a more appropriate place to discuss it if you want to:

Don't take this the wrong way - but maybe you need to grow some thicker skin?  This is pretty jovial community.  We like to poke good-natured fun at each other.  If people are doing it to you - it's a good thing.  it means you are being accepted into the tribe so to speak.

Just relax and talk LEGO for awhile.  it's not about YOU, and you keep trying to make yourself and your ideas the center of the conversation.  Let it go...

After a weekend of "do you want to build a snowman" going through my head, you have to bring up the other one.

Yes, I figured Scotland Yard would intervene and end this nonsense.

(In this case, @Pitfall69 has served that purpose.)

Appears to be useful for lots of things but really only any good for opening beer bottles.

Where I grew up in Georgia, there is a park (Glover Park in Marietta) with a small version of the General that kids can climb on in the playground. I never knew the significance of it (I thought it was just a train playset) until I saw it on the History channel a couple years ago.
