Problems getting hold of a LUG...what am I doing wrong?

So for the past couple of years I have been sending messages to the Michigan Lug (www.MichLUG.org) and as yet have never received a reply.  I'm really interested in getting involved with a semi-official group who are relatively local to me.

I have tried using the form on their "contact us" page on their website, sent emails to addresses listed on the website, and sent a message to their facebook group.  Am I doing something wrong?  

I understand that people have full time jobs and their hobbies come second or third, but since this has been going on for so long I'm starting to think that I did something wrong.  Are LUGs only allowed a certain number of members so they are not interested in recruiting?
