Would office wall putty be safe for minifigs?

I would like to use that wall putty they sell in packs in the office supply aisle to stick my minifigs to my wall. Would this be safe of could it over time damage the minifigs some way?

Long term, I would doubt it.  It discolors the paint on my walls if on too long, so I suspect it wouldn't be the best choice.

Do you mean Blu-tak?
If you do then it probably won't harm the plastic in the short term but I wouldn't want it on there for long.  It also gets stuck in all the holes and joints which wrecks the minifigures.
I have a few minifigs white-takked to my computer screen at work, but they are cheap ones that I am not fussed about.

I think is called blue tak. They also make a white one. What else should I use that is safer?

The 'discolouring' is the oil/grease in the blu-tak marking the walls. Wouldn't have thought it would have the same effect on hard plastic.
