Apologies if this has been posted before, but does anyone know what the May the 4th promotional figure will be this year?

It should be the First Order General Minifig

Saw you had the last comment and clicked for a chrome Hoth Han joke. Disappointed.

Isn't it a polybag of white range finders?

First Order General seems a bit boring to me. I will probably not be enticed to place an order then unless they also have some sale items beyond the usual keychains and clocks.

Willrow Hood, chromed or not, so long as he comes with his ice cream maker.

A polybag with old, hairy luke would have been great.
I would say that the problem with that is it leads to the possibility of appearing in a future set and in return, not as exclusive of a figure. The hoth Han in just one example. Sure the figure released in the set is not exactly the same but it would be nice if either it was not included in the set or that a different exclusive figure was chosen. The clone trooper lieutenant is another example. That is why I enjoy the chrome TC-14 and other exclusive minifigure polybags that haven't appeared in sets. There are many characters that could see the light of day in the universe.

Dont get me wrong I would love to see and episode VII Luke but he could easily be in a set later on and would prefer to see some other figures before him.

I'll disappointed if it is the General. I'm frankly astonished that we're only 6 weeks away now and there's been no confirmation yet...

Prize for naming possibly the most obscure character ever! Just don't give Lego any ideas

Something different like a chromed arsehead from the cantina in star wars complete with chromed jizzbox.

They can take their ideas from Hasbro ...

A plain orange torso, dual molded orange and black legs, an existing brown head (Winston) and the black combed hair (92081, from Winston, Zod, Mandarin, etc). Seems perfect for a May 4th promo.

And a couple of white 1x1 rounds with this on top for the ice-cream maker 30151b.

Would anyone care to speculate which sets may be discounted as part of the May 4th promo? Are there any Star Wars sets that have not been selling well? Will we ever see another discount like the UCS B-Wing?

If they do sets it will probably be older sets still hanging around. Looking at current [email protected] sets I would guess the following:
    #75092 Naboo Starfighter
    #75086 Battle Droid Carrier
    #75087 Anakins Custom Fighter
    #75091 Flash Speeder
    #75085 Hailfire Droid
    #75082 TIE Advanced Prototype

Wild cards would be #75093 Final Dual, An EP7 set like the Snowspeeder which might now be selling well since it got cut from the final film, and maybe a couple of the constraction sets that are not the hottest sellers in that line. Perhaps a couple of the older Micro Fighters too.

Maybe we get surprised with a few exciting ones but I guess this is largely used to clear room for new summer wave so getting rid of excess older sets makes the most sense for them.

Maybe LEGO gets crazy and reduces the price on the Ewok Village

I doubt we will see the UCS B-Wing price cut again. That only happened because it did not sell, right?

I'm guessing it will be that general in a polybag that popped up last week. Like others I wish it was someone interesting, like Darth Revan a few years back.

The May 4th figure is a regular FO trooper. The calendar was just leaked on Reddit's Lego subreddit. Not sure I'm allowed to post link.

Don't know either. But in life it's better to ask for forgiveness, than wait for permission.

And it's just the regular FO Heavy Artillery Stormtrooper same as in the small Battlepack that was released recently.

The printing is slightly different. Just enough for them to call it an exclusive and get away with it.

It has a neck attachment with a 1 X 2 tile so it is "different  and exclusive " .Also looks like we won't be getting  discounts  just double points on star wars sets. See below the may 4th minifigure. I'd also be interested  in  the cards but we haven't  got lego stores in Ireland.  I wonder if they'll  be available  online....
  • BumblepantsBumblepants Member Posts: 7,537
I like the threshold is lowered to only $50 but I guess to get free shipping it will be $75 for the better deal given how silly the shipping costs are these days.
  • BrickDancerBrickDancer Member Posts: 3,639
@Dtrimpi87 good eye! A walkie talkie print on the left breast plus a bracket & tile backpack.

But what is on the printed tile?! That is the question...

That is a pathetic effort and is particularly surprising as I was under the impression that it would be the First Order General. There are so many characters waiting to be made which are either important to the saga or offer some fan service (Kitster perhaps) and this is one of the strangest choices yet.

What's the VIP early access set from 18-31 May? The mysterious Minifigures D2C 71040?

    Something Disney based?
  • LobotLobot Member Posts: 1,026

    Well, that's pretty underwhelming.... again.

I'm quite surprised that they haven't gone for a Hoth-related minifigure to help push the (UCS) 75098.  I could have been tempted with a chrome R-3PO but the Stormtrooper is no incentive at all, even with the double VIP points.

I will take the FO General to have someone leading the troops than a random trooper.

I've changed my mind, I'd rather have the general... I mean, who the hell is making these decisions at Lego? "I know, we'll piss on our fan base and call it rain. They'll love it"

It will go good with the Jakku set coming this summer. I think it is supposed to represent one of the troopers looking for Fin in the Jakku market. One of the 2 troopers was a heavy trooper that had a backpack and used a regular blaster. The only heavy trooper with a backpack in the film to my knowledge.

Although I can't find any pictures or info that supports that so perhaps I am just making stuff up lol.

That's shockingly bad for a minifigure promo. I bet it's the printed backpack from a First Order Snowtrooper.

TFA Luke Skywalker would have been a perfect choice. But I guess they decided to go cheap on it.

Not if Lego intend to use him in expensive episode 8 sets.
