@Bobflip think of it as exposure therapy to try and help you work on your OCD tendencies :-)

I made this photo 11 months ago. I have added several decorated 2x4 bricks since, but I am still missing several of them (mainly promotional prints and stickers from recent sets).

The blue Samsonite 2x4 with a hole in top is much more difficult to find than I would have expected, and so is "3001pb023 - Brick 2 x 4 with Angled Red Stripes Between Two Horizontal Red Stripes Pattern". :-)

Hey, I actually have that piece! Maybe I could do my own rocks.

I have the plain yellow 5 point (the "basket of fries") but not to hand, no chrome green sadly - be good to see it next to the silver ones

Very nice. But is she killing the flowers with boiling water from her teakettle?

@elspankdog she is probably still cultivating it as there is always 'just one more colour'...

IIRC my father used strong black tea to fight lice on flowering plants. (40 years ago.)

Yes, more cats! LEGO should release a modular cat lady house.

Still missing a few pieces.  White Lego compatible tape is so easy
This is very satisfying to look at.

^^ white Lego compatible tape? So no bricks were involved? That's pretty convenient. I'll have to check it out.

Yep, just Google "Lego Tape" and you'll get hits all over the place.
  • elspankdogelspankdog Member Posts: 403
I did use one 1x2 white plate on top of the lego compatible tape for each figure

I'm just going to live vicariously through this thread. (Can't get into this, mustn't get into this!)
I've wanted to collect my classic spacemen together for a photo but I never manage to get round to it... I've seen someone who has printed up some more colours too (other than the official ones I see earlier in the thread) but I can't remember who or where I've seen them... and iirc @omnium has an impressive collection of colour exo-suits.

No-Face Bear waits until you're asleep before he begins his nightly hunt for fresh souls.  Maybe tonight will be the night that he devours the soul that will finally allow him to gain his new face and escape from this eternal torment.
    Wow... that got dark fast

Why thank you! Yes, I have a collection of exo-suits. You can see them on my Flickr page:

    https://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/38558039956

I have a photo of all the different colours of classic space mini figs in a lineup too:

But due to the depth of field, only the new grey one is in proper focus. I might take another one some day with my macro lens and a wider focus range, like f/45...

Does anyone know what part has the most color variations? I thought it might be the 2x4 but just wanted to make sure.
  • the_creative_boxthe_creative_box Member Posts: 90
^My guess would be the 1x2 brick. That piece is in almost every Lego set.
  • BobflipBobflip Member Posts: 715
The 1x1 round plate probably comes in most of the colours that the 1x2 and 2x4 comes in, but also comes in loads of the trans colours and some of the chrome/metallic/pearl variants as well. And there's a glow in the dark one!
  • FauchFauch Member Posts: 2,662
the minifig head? especially if we count prints.
  • BobflipBobflip Member Posts: 715
The minifig head is missing a few colours still! I don't think prints should be counted, because some people wipe the print off certain parts to get their monofig completed. My guess is still the 1x1 round plate.

The Duplo 2x2 brick is also available in quite a few colors.  You will be surprised.

The 2x2 tile has the most colour variants, as TLG uses them for internal colour charts (as I understand it, practically every colour TLG have used has been done as a 2x2 tile), but some of the colours are exceedingly rare & hard to get a hold of.

Counting available colors on BrickLink, the 2x2 tile is available in 60 colors, and the 1x1 round plate in 69 colors.
  • FizyxFizyx Member Posts: 1,332
Ugh, this thread is going to be the death of me.  Especially if pictures like this one keep popping up:
I'd say the 1x1 round plate with the 1x1 and 1x2 plate not far behind

They just scratch this particular completion itch that I get that I don't have with LEGO until I see neat displays like this, lol.

Didn't know that, but worth considering, as I think a few pics in here used parts in unreleased colours. It would take me back to the 2x4 though, as there's a lot of unreleased variants of those as well, am I right in thinking Lego do most of their colour tests with 2x4s first?

No, not a prototype, just one that didn't have all the printing done. You can buy them very cheaply on BL from a seller in China ...

It's deffo the 2x2 tile. They're used on the internal colour palette and as VorpalRyu says, every colour ever produced has had a 2x2 tile, even trans colours.
