When looking back over the thread, the more mundane the part the more beautiful a collection of them look. It is probably just the number of colours they come in. I know some people go for the 2x4 in every colour collection, but for me it is 1x2 plates. I don't know why, but they look great as a colour rainbow.
God knows what people think to mine! :p

Unfortunately I know what people think of mine ...

^ before I clicked on that thread I thought something similar!

EDIT: Just looked further down that thread and realised it is! Not sure whether you changed it before or after that comment though...

Looking at that makes we wish they would do a blue one. Poison dart frogs are so cool.

@KungFuKenny Your Statuettes look great...now collected all the printed ones too (joking!)

Sigh... you wouldn’t believe how scattered across Bricklink the monochrome statuettes were... I shudder to think how hard the printed ones would be to collect (especially from the large UCS sets like #76042 ).

It'll be in the 'animals' box somewhere (scrambles off to look).

    Thanks!

I can confidently say I have all the available colours of dachshund. Was picking out some more today and remembered this thread so picked out a Foxy Girl as they’re adjacent in box...so if you still need one @DeMontes I can pop it in the post for you.

@KungFuKenny Are the two grey ones different shades of grey or is it just the lighting/my ageing eyes?

I think they're just different prints (look around the eyes, the right one has some Elves-style markings on it)

I think that may be lighting... in other pics I have they look the same except for the Elves printing on the one- I’ll check at home but probably both are LBG.

The noses are quite different colours.

Yeah, it's more the base grey I'm curious about - I sometimes have trouble distinguishing colour differences with Lego. And of course, sometimes you get quite wide variations among bricks that are officially the same, like when the white bricks within one set veer from very cool white to creamy...

I think you can be excused the printed ones! Most people tend to just collect the plain parts.

Glow-in-the-dark arrived so finally completed this group...

I would like to formally blame AND thank @DeMontes for introducing me to this aspect of Lego collecting... 🙂
Your post prompted me to check what I have in my collection, so I took a look in my rebrickable database:

Apparently I missed all the sets that had the trans Bright green piece. Need to go and find the cheapest one now...

Cheapest set would probably be #41329 from the 2018 Friends lineup.  I got mine as an extra in one of 2 Elves sets- can’t remember if it was #41179 or #41180

Why buy the set? Just buy the part itself from BL.

I wondered the same thing but perhaps the cost of BL shipping to @Recce ’s location is prohibitive?  (Especially if “Tiny Little Red Dot” is referring to Singapore ?). My preferred method is tacking smaller pieces like that onto a longer wanted list to save on postage costs.

Red? or Dark Red?... If there is a Red out there somewhere then it must be a prototype. Theres a few different ones on BL eg Dark Flesh but I guarantee these are mistakes from sellers getting the colour wrong ;-)

Now I want it in red, would look good mixed with dark red for a varied look

I sort of went that route when I got back into Lego, basically buying anything that had the Lego logo on it at the local Savers. The problem is there's so much Lego here now that I'll never get it all sorted out.

It's just an excuse to get more Lego sets. :P

In general, I tend to get the parts from my collection, though I did BL some of my motorbike and crystal parts previously.
