Coloring lego parts

What's the best method to color legl parts? I want some custom lego dc-15's but brickarms charges a dollar each. They have a package that has a load of Star wars guns for 2 bucks but they're all a green color. So what is the best method for color lego pieces?thanks!

It depends on the colour you want. Black is easy, others less so.

It also depends on the part (what it is made from). For example hands are harder than torsos. Studded parts are harder than small tiles.

Brickarms parts are not Lego, but should dye in a similar way, so long as the parts are not soft.
