I'll throw my name into the mix. Bricklink store with a couple retired sets and the odd minifigure. No bricks at this point.

Well, I guess I should include a link to our store. My wife does most of the work. We have been running the store for 1 year.

Just listed a few unboxed Ninjago sets, and put a note on my splash page that I'm willing to send sealed sets unboxed to save on shipping.

@KingAlanI, nice to hear, it's great when store owners put it up that they willing to do that. Makes it easier & quicker to place an order when you don't have to make enquiry first to see if the seller is willing to unbox sets. :D :D :D

I did this to avoid confusing people with some descriptions that have it and some that don't. One of the Ninjago boxes was damaged anyway.

Late to this party but here is my Bricklink store:

    http://www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=ecmo47&utm_content=globalnav

I primarily sell sets. Be sure to mention my name "ecmo47" for a random discount to be applied; maybe 5%, maybe 10%, free shipping or a polybag or two. Let me know!

Spent the last few weeks finalizing my Brick Owl store and it is finally ready. I already had the pleasure to buy from and sell to several members of this forum.
I primary sell parts and minifigs.

    BL Store : ColoradoBricks.com
    BO Store: ColoradoBricks.brickowl.com

Prices are the same in both stores, so pick your favorite LEGO marketplace, orders shipped via First Class will be similarly priced, however orders that have to ship Priority Mail will be much higher in BO due to a limitation in shipping method configuration.

BL or BO, mention "Brickset Rules" and your forum username in your order notes for some free parts :)

Lowered prices on sets and added a few more used parts

Wife's store (www.Jenzbricks.com shamelessplug) has over 140k elements listed with many more thousands to go on this week.

Just added Set #70810 Metalbeard's Sea Cow to my store.  I believe it's the cheapest "New" one on Bricklink. Check out my store: Great Southern Bricks! Don't forget, Bricksetters get 10% their orders!  Also about to part-out 6x #70167 Invizable Gold Getaway.

Since copying my store from BO across to BL I've had nothing but problems! So far I've had a handful of orders, and each one has offered a 'unique' situation I hadn't previously encountered in over 500 orders on BO. One customer sent payment before receiving an invoice (thankfully it was correct), another sent payment to the wrong email address (how?) which I was able to sort out after being on the phone for ~30 minutes with PayPal UK - a phone call which cost almost as much as the payment I received! Another customer wanted to check the inventory of every minifig they were interested in, another who wanted to check that a particular minifig was complete per the inventory, another the colour of a part, and yet another who ordered and then didn't pay for almost a fortnight. If it carries on like this I'll be closing my BL store!

^ What is wrong with someone wanting to check that a minifigure is complete. Everyone makes mistakes, as do BL sellers. I'd want to know if the $30+ Deadpool I ordered had printed red legs, not regular red legs.

Well, if sellers listing minifigs that are incorrect or incomplete per the stated inventory is a thing at BL, then no I don't blame buyers for checking, but if it is a thing, why is it a thing? Why aren't such sellers being taken to task by BL? Should it really be necessary to add a note to every minifig entry saying "complete per BL inventory" just to avoid getting unnecessary enquiries?
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
They shouldn't need to be marked "complete", it should be assumed that. Bricklink has been around for a while now and had its issues over time so there are people that are weary.  BO is still new enough that the user base probably hasn't grown to include the riff raff.  And unfortunately with your low feedback people are hesitant to trust until trust is earned so people tend to ask questions and confirm before ordering.

Or maybe you've just been unlucky in the people finding items in your store.

As for the payment to incorrect address, you really shouldn't have had to deal with that and it was good of you to do it, but you didn't have record of payment and that should have been on the buyer to figure out where their payment went.

The payment before invoice, was a quote given, because accepted quotes go right to the ability to pay?  How was it correct?  Had you already put in the shipping cost and updated but just not sent the invoice?

  • AleyditaAleydita Member Posts: 955
No, they just went ahead and paid based on the shipping chart I have. Thing is, I don't accept PayPal except via the 'onsite' method, and I've had at least 3 people send me manual payments, including the one who sent it to the wrong email. I've tried to mitigate future instances of this by making it clear in the automatic emails that go out that people should only pay by 'onsite' and only after the invoice. But I get the impression that nobody reads these emails. Time will tell.
  • graphitegraphite Member Posts: 3,275
^ I've had a few people pay normally instead of through the onsite, but never early.  The onsite is nice because it always has the order #.  You always have the option of refunding the payment and sending them a message asking them to use the onsite button.

Indeed but you pay the PayPal fee twice this way (€0.35 in my case).

You don't pay fees when you refund, I believe.

Whenever I've sent a refund back via PayPal they have covered the fee part of it.

Not the fixed fee part though.

If I pay you £10 and you refund me, you'll be out 20p.

Wait, when did this on site payment come into effect, and why haven't I heard of it? Setting my store up for it now although I feel I'm way behind the curve.
  • sklambsklamb Member Posts: 516
Fairly recently, CupisHalfEmpty. And, annoyingly enough, if you use that method it often becomes impossible for the buyer to mark the transaction "paid" on the "Orders Placed" list. Other than that quirk it is a very convenient way to pay, though.
  • kiki180703kiki180703 Member Posts: 1,063
@sklamb Well, actually you can change the payment status, just not on the exact My Orders Placed. You have to click on the first "paper" icon that is circled in red in the following image. Then, you arrive to the Edit Order page. There, for the payment status, will be a menu (like the Order Status one) and there will be an option between paid and not paid.

    Hope that helps!

  • CCCCCC Member Posts: 20,556
When you pay via onsite, it is automatically marked as paid. At least, it has been the last five times I paid that way.

Cheers for that @CCC , I never noticed that before.

It can be a real pain when someone pays five times saying they are having difficulty paying, then tells you to refund the extra payments when they realise they have paid multiple times already.
  • SumoLegoSumoLego Member Posts: 15,241
^ I'm sure it goes over real well to tell a prospective buyer to seek a refund from PayPal directly... (for the transaction fees)

Some of the problems occur when they choose "onsite" but pay via paypal manually which according to an admin they added the ability to manually set it to paid even if onsite was selected but not used.

From a ticket I had last week:
"The buyer marked the order as Paid, which you can check through the Edit Order page. We had many users complain that they couldn't mark PayPal orders as "Paid" when they accidentally submitted payment offsite, which is why we made it possible to mark an onsite order as "Paid" even if the onsite method was not actually used." - Jacklyn (admin)
