URL for collection checkbox flags - Trade items

I have used a collection checkbox to indicate which of my sets are "up for trade."  I want to provide a publicly accessible way to show my trade list.  For example, you can make your owned sets available via a URL that looks like this: http://brickset.com/sets/ownedby-username

So, I tried changing "ownedby" to "flag1", but that didn't work.  I thought of using a BrickList, however, the note on that page says: Do not create lists of sets that you own, want or have to trade. Use the proper facilities on the site for that.

I'm all for using the proper facilities!  Now, I'm left wondering...

1. What is the proper site facility for making a list of sets that I have to trade?
2. What is the publicly accessible URL for that list?

Thanks.

I have managed to create a saved Query that works great when I'm logged in (http://brickset.com/sets/query-2459). And I know about the Trade field in the advanced collection manager. Sounds like I've found the "facilities" but haven't been able to satisfy the use case requirement: share a list of sets in my collection that are up for trade.

@Huw can the user defined collection flags be exposed as URL options as you have done with ownedby-{username} and wantedby-{username}?

Not currently but it's a good idea. Leave it with me...

@Huw : Thanks for working on this feature and the FAQ.  I have some comments and will add them on the announcement item.

Thanks for testing and finding the bugs. I think I've fixed them so will upload a new version of the code in the morning, when the site is (relatively) quiet.

I think this is working now:

    http://brickset.com/sets/mycollection-flag1/runas-Huw
    http://brickset.com/sets/mycollection-flag1/runas-titanarch

Works when logged in and not.

I guess the next enhancement would be to show your own personal collection details when looking at another's trade list to look for potential matches. Due to the way the database procedure works that's quite tricky though... :)

Ah, very interesting!  It shows your flag name as a filter but uses my flag names in the collection boxes.  Your flag1 = Test but mine = Up for trade, so it's confusing to see it listed that way with the sets.

The matches on the custom flags are only meaningful if how you use flag1 is consistent with how I use flag1, but overall it's what I was asking for.  Thanks  for getting it working!

Where is it showing them? When you use 'runas' it shouldn't display your own personal collection boxes.

@Huw : I can email you a screenshot if needed, but try switching to Table or Classic view.  They do not appear on List or Gallery view.  Hope that helps.

OK, that explains it, thanks, I'll sort it.

I'm thinking of retiring the classic view, I can't imagine it's needed now and it a nuisance to maintain. This might be a good excuse to do so.

But, I LIKE the classic view!  The List view makes each entry so huge, it's a pain to scroll through your collection.  Maybe if we could "zoom out" on List view, then Classic might become obsolete?

Unfortunately I have no stats to see how many still uses it because the preference is saved in a cookie. There's no pressing need to remove it although someone has suggested another 'compare' view, showing 3 or so sets in columns like you see on shopping sites, which would be pretty cool, but which would require the removal of one of the options from the view list in order to fit.
