Was in my local Costco tonight (Lake Grove, Long Island, NY) and they had 4184 PotC Black Pearl for $59.97 and 4867 HP Hogwarts for $29.97. These both represent 40% off of RRP at S@H. I picked up three of each for good measure.

Wow, that makes me want to drive down to NY. My local Costco (NH) don't have any LEGO sets this year. Instead, they have sets from a LEGO kickoff called "Best-Lock". Yuck!!!

Last year, they had Fire Helicopter (7206) at my Costco for $24, also a 40% discount. Costco usually marks up their merchandise by 17% from its cost, so I guess the wholesale price of a LEGO set is about 50% of its retail price.

Interesting. I saw the HP set for $40, then $35 and still resisted. $30 now, I might just grab one. Thanks for the update.

That's almost enough to get me into a Costco again...almost!

You know, I saw this too and thought it was just a mistake. My Costco is selling the AC Mothership for $35 and I was sure it was previously $45 or such. I guess Costco reduces to clear too. Still didn't buy it, though....I guess I just don't like it... :o)

Sigh. I've been to a bunch of the Costcos and I haven't been able to find the Black Pearl. Has anyone seen these in any of the SF Bay Area Costco locations?

Isn't Costco membership-based? Can you get a day pass to shop there?
  • pcironepcirone Member Posts: 346
Yes but you pay a 5% tax with the day pass.

Found 4867 Hogwarts at Costco in Pompano Beach, FL today for $29.97, but no Black Pearl. I may get a couple of those Hogwarts for parts or resell later, but no sign of Black Pearl, which is a set I really want to add to my collection.

On the book section I found a pretty good deal on some LEGO books. They have that duo: The Lego Book + Standing Small for only $27.97. RRP on that one is $40.00, if I'm not mistaken. Pretty good deal too.

Just saw the Alien Mothership and Star Wars Republic Frigate at Costco... $24.97 and $74.97 - already have both, was hoping to find the Black Pearl but not at my Costco location. Any idea as to how and find out what stores have certain Lego sets? The website is no help!

    ^ The good old telephone?

@vedder1029 I think it depends on what part of the country you are... Here in Houston, they also have the same sets you saw at your local cotsco... not as good of a deal as the other ones...

Be careful of the telephone. I called a couple of days ago asking about lego sets (I specifically used the words "sets"), and was told they had some of the Lego Pirates sets for $29.xx, and they only had a few left. After making my way over there, I was told the only Lego product they had was the video games... there it was, Lego PotC video game, $29.xx

Make sure you get one of the employees who can actually tell the difference.
