Rant of the Introverted Lego Builder
<begin rant>It is that time of year when the Winter Village sets get released from storage, built and arranged in a pleasant seasonal display. People who come to your house, or just have been to your house in other years, start with "are you going to be home on date-x?" "Yes." "All my kids and grandkids will be here by then, can we come over and see your Lego display?" Gee. when did I register as part of the local entertainment package for your grandchildren? Extroverts just don't get people who aren't "up for company" except in controlled doses on their terms.<end rant>
Merry Christmas Bricksetters! (Don't come over to my house)

A fairly typical response from an extrovert is that an introvert needs to be "cured", stop being silly and just do things the way they do.
Introverts are just one of a number of completely separate groups of people who like to do things differently. People outside those groups often say that they don't behave the way people normally do. The word is "differently", not "normally".
Everybody should be able to be who they are, not who someone else wants them to be.
No worries, I'm old and learned to say "no" a long time ago, in the nicest way possible, without lying or dissembling. But people are still startled when you don't want to share with everyone and I'm sure I get talked about behind my back in the hood. But that's ok, too.
@samiam391 You are right! I'm surprised the Hobbits tolerate my presence when I show my Bill Freeny face.
