Day after Christmas sale at LEGO Stores?

Do we have any expectations as to day after Christmas sales at the LEGO Store? In the past (2011 or so), I remember really good deals, but am not sure what LEGO Stores have offered in the past couple of years.

Any thoughts would be appreciated -- I realize everything is just a rumor/guess until the morning of Dec 26.
Thanks!

I doubt anything significant. They currently don't need to discount much to shift product.

^ Along those lines as stated above, I was in both local Lego stores in the past week and both were wiped out as far as Star Wars goes and the shelves were only half full in all other areas. So I don't see what they would discount if they have little to sell in the first place.

I actually called a couple of stores today when I noticed early opening times for 26th but both claimed it was just business as usual (no sales) and that they were just opening to cope with Xmas demand.

Most UK brand stores are in shopping centres. Shopping centres are likely to open earlier on Boxing Day for the sales and most stores follow suit, whether or not they have their own sale.

In recent years, the brand stores have started the sale several days after Christmas, and weren't too forthcoming about when that was.

I can't recall any decent Dec 26th sales in the US in at least 4 years or so.  At best, you might get the junk like key chains and watches and stuff.  maybe a 10% or 20% on some really old sets they want to dump off.  But nothing fun or exciting.

Opening early is all about selling product to people who got gift cards.  Even better if they don't have current high demand sets left, because the people with gift cards will happily settle for older crap collecting dust on the shelves instead - because they aren't spending "real" money and they want something NOW.

Have people noted the winter village sets in stock on Dec 26 the past couple years,  and if so,  did they get a discount?

Santa's workshop was gone before Christmas last year.   But I'm thinking WVM was discounted Dec 26...

Went in today and asked about sale for Sheffield. Was told 1st January and its Chima, Pirates and Keyrings plus some odds and ends.

The winter village sets used to get discounted after christmas in store, however they now fall under the "No Discount" policy in North America so that hasn't happened the last couple years.

There is a list of stuff to be on sale at the stores tomorrow over at toysnbricks.com. The interesting one for me is the Creator bike shop and Cafe set being 63 dollars(Not as good as the 55 dollar Target one, but still not bad), and Cantina being at 56 USD where stores still have them.

seeing as i forgot that there could be a sale on "Boxing Day" what we here in the UK call the day after Christmas day. (hay if we can adopt Black Friday, why can the USA not Adopt "Boxing Day" (to find out more about Boxing Day google is your friend) i placed a order today for the Pet Shop "10218" and if that go's on sale tomorrow i will be gutted.
however only time will tell if the uk lego shop will have a sale or not.

Again, there is a list at the other site that shows what is on sale (Im guessing @Huw will post on the main page for brickset.com too at some point). fairly certain modulars are not going to be on that list, even for other countries than the US

well i look at what i think is the LIST, and non of the stuff is jumping out at me, and my lego STORE the closest one i could go to is to far away to travel to, (i have no car) so with it being over 30 miles away from me, just popping over to it is out of the question, and i would love to hit the pick a brick wall to, but i looked at it, i looked at travel there and back, i even contemplated asking a family member, but the time to travel + the time i would spend in the shop = said family member just not going to go for it. so i am stuck with online shopping, shopping at my Local Supermarket (who's Lego department in the last 6 weeks is haft empty) Or my local privately run toy shop. (who can get a little price happy at times. and is limited on sales space)

so most of my Lego shopping is online.
but thanks for the help, i appreciate it.

I believe there are lists for store only and online. But yeah, I hear you. I think there is one site saying the Ideas Bird set is on sale in the UK only, but another site says it is on sale in both US and UK. There are a couple of sets that I may want to go to the store anyway and 'roll the dice' on (as I know they are no longer available online), but a bit hesitant on doing so as I'm celebrating Christmas at my folks place tomorrow and both drives are a long drive.

I will add to check the LEGO site tonight around your midnight I think as the sale typically starts around them

now that is interesting as Bird is a UK online sold out item. so i did not think the UK Lego store's had any left to sale at a lower price.

speaking of Lego Ideas, i still need to pick up Dr Who set at some point.
but that not going to be on sale for a long time.
i just hope that when i have the money for Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ, the Lego Shop @ home will have double VIP points.

Was in the metro center Lego shop today
while there was nothing on sale and the shelves were pretty empty.
after one of the shop guys helped me get my missing 8, series 14 monster figures by feeling the bags :)

they still had some of the gingerbread houses left over and we're still offering them a week after the offer ended for £60 spent.

i spent just over £120 and asked if I could have 2
they never normally do that but I don't think he cared (he did say that it's one per household)
    but now have 3

top man :) was expecting to see some of the Christmas bits reduced but nothing

The traffic within a few miles of the mall was so intense, I didn't even bother trying to stop. Sounds like I didn't miss much!

Nothing but pretty bare shelves at the Schaumburg store. One rough looking Villa Savoye, two of the bigger Ultra Agents, smaller Elves sets and some of the Juniors Lego were all that I saw on sale. Meh

^glad to know I didn't waste my time going there. I was hoping they might have Santas Workshop on sale in store.
