I'd absolutely love to see u huge ucs imperial shuttle released. Easily my favourite ship from the OT. And I didnt manage to get 10212.
#10212 is a lovely set (and I missed it too), but a redesign this soon is unlikely. I'm still sorely tempted by #75094 even though it's not a UCS set...

While I'd certainly like a 10030 remake to sit alongside my 10221 I'm just not sure you can improve visually on the original, same goes for 10179. Admittedly the classic star destroyer could be updated with more modern build techniques but I'm not convinced of the mass market appeal.  An updated 10179 however would probably sell by the boatload to those who missed out first time round and don't have £5k to spend.

I'd disagree with that sentiment, for me the ISD is just as iconic as the MF, the most iconic imperial ship there is across the 3 OT films. 10179 is iconic, but it was a poor seller at the time, people lament not getting it for its big aftermarket gains as much as it's epic build. I'm sure if it was only worth £800 in the aftermarket there wouldn't be half as many people here hankering after it. I have a bricklink built one, but makiing a choice between 10030 and 10179, i'd pick the ISD. If there are redos on the cards, the 10030 deserves it first, it's been absent from the retail line-up a lot longer than 10179. A 10179 would undoubteedly be a £450/$600 proposition now, that's a crazy amount of money to a lot of people for a Lego set (if they're not keen AFOLs). If a 10179 remake is due before a 10030 remake, it'll be off the back of the TFA's current popularity  rather than the OT's enduring popularity.

While #10030 would be an epic remake, I would not be to annoyed if they made a First Order Star Destroyer as a UCS set, that way those that missed the original could get 'a version' of a UCS ISD and those that have the original could get a modern build equivalent to go with #10030. (And anyone trying to bricklink one won't have to resort to altering a set of Orange wheels for the engines or trying to find an alternate way of building them without the trans blue dishes which are like unicorn excrement).

Having rewatched all SW recently, I think the one good thing of the prequels are the vehicles. I wouldn't mind an AT-OT, republic gunship, republic cruiser or hailfire Droid in UCS style.

I think a UCS Star Destroyer is unlikely - there are many smaller-scale versions and the UCS SSD was released a few years ago.

And frankly, a big box of grey pieces seems out-of-touch with the current focus in playability with the larger sets.

I think a UCS Falcon is unlikely for the same reason.  But if the ship will be continued to be featured in upcoming films, who knows.

(Yes, the UCS Helicarrier is a bunch of gray pieces, but has far more playability than a SD could offer.)

Yep, missed 10212 also, as it was released in my dark days. I purchased 75094 and I was not disappointed, it's a great set, but needs a stand!

I was thinking some famous sea-faring ships would be ripe for the USC treatment. Santa Maria, Queen Ann's Revenge, or HMS Victory (with a Lord Nelson minifig) would be awesome.

It is well worth knocking one up as does look quite nice displayed on a stand.

(please excuse the blue technic pins, the bag of black ones were not to hand when I built this).

I blatantly plagiarized @Pitfall69.  He should get credit for the 'likes' so he can get Level 10 forum clearance.  And stay ahead of @samiam391.

    Star Wars Mouse Droid.....*snicker*

    I wouldn't mind seeing:

7961-1 pod racing combo as bigger and upgraded with more detail.

Grievous's Wheel Bike, just as another nice detail set.

Maybe a TIE Defender, but since it would be another TIE I guess I will wait. :P

Discussions aren't included in comments, so:

    Brickset approval rating = likes / (comments + discussions) × 100

    I'm at 75% :)

Anyone with over 100% must be a master builder!

^ I should say, I realise that percentages are nonsense in this scenario (to be honest, so is the concept of a 'Brickset approval rating'). I just like the idea that @SumoLego has an approval rating of 138% :)

Must be all the sausages ;)

I was also wondering if it's possible to swap the wings over so it can be displayed in landing configuration with the studs pointing out?
  • bandit778bandit778 Member Posts: 2,370
I haven't tried to be honest as it looked so good flying. From what I remember though with a bit of creative building it may be possible as I think most of the connections to the folding part of the wing is through technic beams. Don't quote me on that though as I built it months ago and the memory Isn't as good as it used to be at my age.

^ Yes, the #10212 can be posed in landing position on it's landing gear, without needing the technic stand.

I would like to see a new buste as UCS set. Darth Vader, Jango or Boba Fett.
MTT as a UCS would be nice too.

UCS droid factory! Includes 100 droids and powered by an NXT so it actually builds them.

We need another epic Fantasy chess set ala #852293 , except there's no theme that will appropriately accompany it.  Ninjago, meh.  Nexo Knights, meh.  Elves.. Maybe..eh--meh.  Star Wars?  Maybe after a few more of the new films are released.

A Nexo Knights chess set could actually be awesome. You've got enough classes of character on both sides to make a robust chess set—ranging from Squirebots and Scurriers for the pawns to Jestro and King Halbert as each side's respective king.

That said, I don't know if we could or should get another chess set on the scale of the Castle Giant Chess Set. Back in the day, I thought it was the bee's knees, but looking back, it's a tad bit excessive. Really I think something more like last year's Pirates Chess Set would probably suffice, especially if it kept its modular, storage-friendly design while improving the exterior detailing and overall look.

I would actually like an Elves chess set although I don't think there are enough characters especially as villains.  Nexo Knights on the other hand would be fun.  I won't buy many of the other sets but a chess set i would be tempted by.

I immediately retire from anything remotely approaching a competition.

(I'm afraid of a Uruk Army bearing Mandalorian Helmets and the white hand of samiam assaulting my house.  That is an army worthy of Mordor.  And I've been told one cannot simply Ewok into Mordor.)
